12th April 2023, Jaipur: The IIS University hosted its tenth convocation on Wednesday
at the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium, Shipra Path Mansarovar, Jaipur. The Chancellor of
the University Dr Ashok Gupta presided over the ceremony, while Sh. Om Birla,
Honorable Speaker, Lok Sabha was the Chief Guest. On the occasion Shri Virendra
Prakash Sharma, CEO P.T. Mitra Adi Perkasa, Jakarta, Indonesia and Dr Mahesh
Kotbagi, Director Rotary International were conferred on D.Litt. (Honoris Causa).
In all 2870 students were conferred on their degrees inclusive of 117 Ph.D, 722 Post
Graduation, 2031 Under Graduation programmes. Also, 99 Gold Medals, 18 Plaques, 30
Endowment Awards and 499 Merit Certificates were awarded to meritorious Graduands.
Chancellor, of the University Dr Ashok Gupta declared the convocation open and welcomed
the Chief Guest, dignitaries, guests and graduands present in the convocation hall. Later, he
delivered the welcome speech and apprised the audience with the highlights of The IIS
University.
In the welcome speech, Dr Gupta talked about the meaningful journey which began in 1995
as the International College for Girls and within a short span of time it crossed many significant
milestones in its endeavors towards excellence in higher education when it was conferred the
status of Deemed to be university in 2009. The goal has widened to provide a context that
emancipates the intellect and develops critical as well as creative thinking. He encouraged the
granduands to associate and interact with people who come from a different background which
will in turn help them to develop a clear understanding of the complexity and richness of the
essential human experience.
The Chief Guest on the occasion, Honorable Speaker, Loksabha, Sh Om Birla while
delivering convocation address, outlined the vision of India’s New Education System and
stimulated and energized all to work towards the revolutionary goals of NEP 2020. He
congratulated the graduands and quoted “Be confident, no matter which field you choose, you
will be empowered and enlightened women of India who will lead in the future.” Continuing on

the path of excellence he further advised the graduands inspite living in the age of Chat GPT
and Instagram they should not follow shortcuts in life as success does not come to them, they
have to grab it. He also inspired the students to work hard, dream big, make commitments to
yourself, and do justice to the education they have received.
On this occasion Chancellor Dr. Ashok Gupta administered the oath to all the
graduands.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Rectar & Registrar Dr. Raakhi Gupta. While
congratulating the graduands she said all are unique and have talents and abilities. They
should believe in themselves and be humble to work hard.
Apart from this, scholars also received endowment awards for their excellence in academic
activities out of which Shachi Vijay, Gaganpreet Kaur, Samridhi Jain bagged Shiv Saraswati
Memorial Gold Medal, Sapna Isswani and Kareena Datta received Dr. Shanta Narendra
Bhanawat Memorial Gold Medal, Ria Pritam awarded with K.M. Sahai Memorial Gold
Medal, Ridhika Tiwari received OP Bansal Memorial Gold Medal Award, Tanu Mundra got
Pawan Bansal Memorial Gold Medal, Sangita Debbarna and Manila Jain bagged Radhey
Shyam Badhalia Memorial Gold Medal, Aastha Saxena got Ram Pyari-Surji Memorial
Gold Medal and J.P. Gupta Memorial Gold Medal, Prem Chand Bakshi Memorial Gold
Medal was received by Gargi Salotri and Prof. Volker Heine F.R.S Gold Medal and Hukam
Kaur-Nand Ram Memorial Gold Medal was received by Riddhi Khandelwal.
