आज जब वायुसेना C-295, LCA Mk1A, AMCA प्रोटोटाइप, अपग्रेडेड Su-30MKI और आधुनिक वायु रक्षा प्रणालियों के विस्तार के साथ नए अध्याय में प्रवेश कर रही है, DG (I&S) का महत्व पहले से कहीं अधिक बढ़ गया है।
सम्मान और राष्ट्रसेवा की पहचान
उनकी विशिष्ट सेवाओं के लिए उन्हें निम्न सम्मान प्रदान किए गए—

The Indian Air Force witnessed a significant leadership transition on 01 December 2025, as Air Marshal Tejbir Singh assumed charge as the Director General (Inspection and Safety) [DG (I&S)] at Air Headquarters. With an illustrious career spanning 37 years—marked by operational brilliance, global military exposure, and pivotal leadership roles—his appointment is widely seen as an important move in strengthening the IAF’s overarching framework of safety, modernisation, and mission-readiness.
From spearheading transformational training reforms to pioneering the induction of aircraft that redefined India’s special operations capability, Air Marshal Tejbir Singh brings a legacy of innovation and institutional strengthening. His new role, positioned at the heart of the IAF’s safety and inspection directorate, carries immense responsibility, ensuring that the force remains operationally sharp, technically robust, and future-ready in an era of rapidly evolving aerial threats and complex joint-force requirements.
A CAREER ROOTED IN OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
Over nearly four decades, Air Marshal Tejbir Singh has been at the forefront of India’s air power evolution. A highly experienced transport pilot with over 7000 hours of flying, he has mastered some of the most demanding aircraft and operational environments that define the IAF’s modern aviation profile.
His operational leadership includes being a pioneer in the induction of the C-130J ‘Super Hercules’, an aircraft that has redefined India’s special operations, humanitarian relief missions, and rapid air mobility. Under his leadership, the IAF raised its first dedicated Special Operations Squadron, a landmark step towards building a joint-force capable of precision, deep-penetration and rapid-response missions—an aspect that has grown increasingly vital given India’s expanding strategic interests.
His experience is not merely cockpit-deep. Air Marshal Singh has commanded:
- Two major flying bases,
- A premier training base, and
- A frontline operational airbase supporting the Northern sector,
