Deliberation on Partition Imprints at iSPELL India

Dedicating the month of May to Partition Memory through History and Literature, Indian Society for the Promotion of English Language and Literature (iSPELL India) In its 86th Sunday Sahityik Satsang, arranged a wonderful discourse. Dr Chetna Karnani, Assistant Professor of English, GG, Indraprastha University, Delhi as eminent keynote speaker delivered her reflections on the topic titled “Fence Around My Homeland: Reading Heterotopia for the Partitioned Mohajir” and highlighted about the inerasable imprint of partition on minds and hearts of people how people suffered in that period.
 
At beginning, Dr. Somali Saha, Vice President of Tripura Forum, iSPELL and Assistant Professor of English, Women’s College, Agartala, Tripura welcomed the significant gathering of intellectuals as event Coordinator and proceeded further by introducing the master of ceremonies. Dr Alka Bhakar, Executive Member, Rajasthan Forum, iSPELL and Assistant Professor of English, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Government College, Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan excellently completed ceremonials of the event.
 
Dr Yogesh M Sarode, President of East Maharashtra Forum, iSPELL and Assistant Professor of English, Jeevan Vikas Mahavidyalaya Devgram, Nagpur, Maharashtra chaired the session and summed up with his additional inputs. 
 
Dr Prasanta Chakraborty, Vice President, iSPELL India and Professor of English, Holycross College, Agartala honored Dr. Somali Saha, Dr. Alka Bhakar and Dr Yogesh M Sarode with certificates as a token of appreciation. 
 
Further Dr Saha gracefully exhibited her gratitude and vote of thanks addressing all the decorous attendees for their amiable attendance. Special thankfulness was extended to Mr Pramod Dhengle, IT Coordinator, iSPELL India for handling the technicalities for successful show of the event through various social media means including Zoom and YouTube.
