अभ्यास ‘कलारी लीप’: द्वीपीय क्षेत्रों में भारत की संयुक्त वायु–समुद्री–विशेष बल शक्ति का सशक्त प्रदर्शन

24 फरवरी 2026 को मुख्यालय दक्षिणी वायु कमान ने रणनीतिक रूप से अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण में अभ्यास ‘कलारी लीप’ का सफल आयोजन किया। यह उच्च-तीव्रता वाला संयुक्त समुद्री अभ्यास भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों की बढ़ती संयुक्तता और एकीकृत युद्ध क्षमता का प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण बना। अभ्यास में तथा की सक्रिय भागीदारी रही, जिससे वायु, समुद्र और विशेष बलों के बीच निर्बाध समन्वय को वास्तविक परिस्थितियों में परखा गया।

उभयचर आक्रमण और एंटी-शिप स्ट्राइक क्षमताएँ

Conducted in a demanding maritime environment, the exercise tested the Indian military’s ability to plan, deploy and execute complex operations with speed, precision and coordination.

Exercise Kalari Leap was specifically designed to validate joint operational planning and rapid force projection across extended sea spaces. The scenario-driven exercise simulated real-world contingencies in island and littoral environments, where swift decision-making and synchronised action are critical. Southern Air Command orchestrated the exercise to ensure seamless coordination between air power, maritime forces and special operations elements, demonstrating the capability to project force rapidly and decisively in India’s island domains.
Air Operations as the Backbone of the Exercise
Air operations formed a critical pillar of Kalari Leap, underscoring the central role of air power in modern maritime warfare. A range of Indian Air Force assets were employed, including An-32 transport aircraft for tactical airlift, Mi-17V5 helicopters for special heliborne missions and insertion tasks, and Su-30MKI fighter aircraft for maritime strike roles. These air assets enabled airborne and air-landed insertions, provided rapid mobility to special forces, and delivered precision effects over the maritime battlespace, highlighting Southern Air Command’s ability to dominate the air–sea interface.
Special Operations Integration and Precision Insertions
A key highlight of the exercise was the integration of AFSOD special forces into the operational framework. Elite operators executed Combat Free Fall insertions, showcasing advanced airborne insertion techniques designed for stealth and surprise. These were complemented by special heliborne missions and amphibious assaults, where special forces transitioned seamlessly from air platforms to maritime and littoral operations. The successful execution of these tasks demonstrated India’s growing proficiency in special operations across multiple domains.
Amphibious Assaults and Anti-Ship Strike Operations
Kalari Leap also encompassed amphibious assault operations, validating the capability to seize, secure and dominate island and coastal objectives. These operations were conducted in conjunction with simulated anti-ship strike missions, where air and maritime assets worked in close coordination to detect, track and neutralise hostile surface threats. The Coast Guard’s Dornier 228 aircraft was employed extensively for maritime search and rescue missions, reaffirming its critical role in humanitarian and safety operations. Additionally, the Dornier aircraft undertook the important task of shepherding fighter aircraft during maritime strike missions, ensuring safe and coordinated execution of complex air–sea operations.
