Over 700 Indian Armed Forces Personnel to Join ‘Exercise Bright Star 2025’ in Egypt: Strengthening Jointness, Interoperability and Regional Security

In yet another demonstration of India’s rising stature in global military engagements, more than 700 personnel from the Indian Armed Forces and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS) are all set to participate in the prestigious Multilateral Exercise ‘Bright Star 2025’, scheduled to be held in Egypt from 28 August to 10 September 2025.
Hosted jointly by Egypt and the United States since 1980, Exercise Bright Star has evolved into one of the largest and most significant Tri-Service multilateral exercises in the region, attracting military contingents from across the globe. India’s growing participation in the exercise underlines its increasing role as a responsible security partner committed to peace, stability, and cooperation in West Asia, North Africa, and beyond.
Key Highlights of Exercise Bright Star 2025
The upcoming edition of the exercise promises an extensive and realistic training spectrum covering multiple domains of modern warfare. The Indian contingent, comprising elements from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, will showcase India’s military might and operational readiness through:
- Live Firing Exercises: A rare opportunity where all three Services of India will demonstrate their firepower and coordinated operations, showcasing platforms ranging from advanced artillery to naval assets and aerial weapon systems.
- Command Post Exercise (CPX): Designed to refine decision-making, strategic planning, and joint operational execution between participating nations’ forces.
- Short Training Exercises: Targeted drills by the Army, Navy, and Air Force focusing on interoperability and adaptability in diverse battlefield scenarios.

India first participated in earlier editions on a limited scale but has progressively expanded its footprint, with the 2023 edition marking a notable presence of Indian troops alongside several international forces. The 2025 participation of over 700 Indian personnel marks one of the largest deployments by India in the exercise so far, reflecting New Delhi’s deepening defence engagement with Cairo, Washington, and other partner nations.

‘एक्सरसाइज ब्राइट स्टार 2025’ में भारत के 700 से अधिक सैनिक होंगे शामिल: त्रि-सेवा समन्वय और क्षेत्रीय सुरक्षा में बड़ा कदम

भारत की बढ़ती सामरिक शक्ति और वैश्विक सैन्य सहयोग की दिशा में एक और महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाते हुए, भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों और मुख्यालय एकीकृत रक्षा स्टाफ (HQ IDS) के 700 से अधिक सैनिक मिस्र में होने वाले बहुराष्ट्रीय युद्धाभ्यास ‘एक्सरसाइज ब्राइट स्टार 2025’ में हिस्सा लेंगे। यह अभ्यास 28 अगस्त से 10 सितंबर 2025 तक चलेगा।
मिस्र और अमेरिका द्वारा 1980 से आयोजित यह अभ्यास आज दुनिया के सबसे बड़े और महत्वपूर्ण त्रि-सेवा बहुराष्ट्रीय अभ्यासों में से एक बन चुका है। इसमें भारत की सक्रिय भागीदारी यह दर्शाती है कि नई दिल्ली क्षेत्रीय शांति, स्थिरता और सहयोग के लिए एक विश्वसनीय सुरक्षा साझेदार की भूमिका निभा रहा है।
एक्सरसाइज ब्राइट स्टार 2025 की प्रमुख झलकियां

भारत की भागीदारी का महत्व
भारत के लिए यह अभ्यास सिर्फ एक सैन्य सहयोग नहीं बल्कि एक रणनीतिक अवसर है:
- इंटरऑपरेबिलिटी में वृद्धि – विभिन्न देशों के सैनिकों के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर अभ्यास करने से भविष्य की किसी भी परिस्थिति में बेहतर तालमेल संभव होगा।
- त्रि-सेवा एकीकरण को मजबूत करना – सेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना का एक साथ अभ्यास भारत की नई सैन्य सोच को मजबूती देता है।

अभ्यास का इतिहास और भारत की भागीदारी
‘ब्राइट स्टार’ अभ्यास की शुरुआत 1980 में अमेरिका और मिस्र के बीच हुई थी। चार दशक बाद यह एक बहुपक्षीय सैन्य मंच बन चुका है। भारत ने पिछली बार 2023 में उल्लेखनीय उपस्थिति दर्ज की थी, और इस बार 700 से अधिक सैनिकों की तैनाती अब तक की सबसे बड़ी भागीदारी है।
यह केवल एक अभ्यास नहीं बल्कि भारत, मिस्र और अमेरिका के बीच सामरिक संबंधों की मजबूती और अन्य देशों के साथ सुरक्षा सहयोग का प्रतीक है।
भारत की सामरिक पहुंच
भारत लगातार मालाबार, रिमपैक, युध अभ्यास, इंद्रा और शक्ति जैसे अभ्यासों में भागीदारी करता आया है। अब ‘ब्राइट स्टार 2025’ में बड़ी संख्या में सैनिकों की उपस्थिति भारत की वैश्विक सुरक्षा साझेदारी की गहराई को और मजबूत करेगी।
