New Delhi – In a significant milestone for India’s defense self-reliance, the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the transfer of technical expertise from DRDO’s Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) to the 509 Army Base Workshop. This MoU will enable the indigenous production of 0.5W Sterling Cryocoolers, a critical component used in Thermal Imaging Devices deployed by the Indian Army.
