Indian Army’s Balnoi Battalion Organises Artificial Limbs Distribution & Medical Camp Along LoC – A Lifeline for Border Villagers

In a moving display of compassion and service to the nation, the Balnoi Battalion of Krishna Ghati Brigade organised an Artificial Limbs Distribution & Medical Camp at its Balnoi Base, bringing new hope and dignity to differently-abled residents of border villages situated along the volatile Line of Control (LoC).
The initiative, designed as a large-scale humanitarian outreach, covered villages such as Balnoi, Sagra, Dabraj, Mankote and several other remote habitations. These villages, lying in the shadow of the LoC, face the dual challenge of security threats and lack of access to healthcare and rehabilitation facilities due to their geographic isolation. The Indian Army’s effort, therefore, served as a much-needed intervention, filling gaps left by limited civil infrastructure.
The camp’s most significant moment came with the distribution of artificial limbs and mobility aids to 24 differently-abled individuals. For many, it was a life-changing experience — men and women who had lost mobility due to accidents, illnesses, or congenital issues were able to stand and walk again, some after years of dependence. The sight of children taking their first confident steps with the help of prosthetic limbs was both emotional and inspiring, drawing tears of joy from families and community members present.
In addition to prosthetic support, the Battalion organised a comprehensive medical camp that attracted over 179 villagers, including women, children, and senior citizens. A team of Army medical professionals conducted general health check-ups, distributed medicines, and guided villagers on preventive healthcare practices. This effort ensured not only immediate medical relief but also long-term awareness on hygiene and wellness in areas where hospitals are miles away.
The initiative also saw active participation from the Department of Social Welfare, whose Tehsil Officer and team assisted in documentation for pensions and welfare schemes for disabled persons. This civil-military collaboration ensured that beneficiaries did not just receive artificial limbs but also financial support for sustained living, cementing the Army’s role as a bridge between governance and grassroots.
Community elders, local residents, and beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude, noting that such initiatives restore faith and strengthen the relationship between the Army and border villagers. “For us, the Army is not just our protector on the border, but also our partner in life,” said an elderly villager, moved by the gesture.
More than medical aid, this camp represented the Army’s holistic approach to inclusive growth in conflict-prone areas. By empowering differently-abled individuals and providing healthcare access, the Balnoi Battalion reaffirmed the Army’s ethos of “Seva Parmo Dharma” — service as the highest duty.
This initiative stands as a powerful reminder that national security is not only about guarding borders but also about nurturing the people who live closest to them. The Balnoi Battalion’s commitment to continue such humanitarian efforts ensures that the border belt does not feel neglected, but rather included in the nation’s collective progress.

भारतीय सेना की बलनोई बटालियन ने एलओसी पर आयोजित किया कृत्रिम अंग वितरण एवं चिकित्सा शिविर – सीमांत गाँवों के लिए उम्मीद की नई किरण

भारतीय सेना की कृष्णा घाटी ब्रिगेड की बलनोई बटालियन ने सीमांत इलाकों में रहने वाले लोगों के जीवन में नई रोशनी लाते हुए कृत्रिम अंग वितरण एवं चिकित्सा शिविर का आयोजन किया। यह शिविर बलनोई बेस पर आयोजित हुआ, जहाँ सागरा, डबराज, मनकोटे और आसपास के गाँवों के लोग बड़ी संख्या में पहुँचे।
एलओसी से सटे इन गाँवों के लोग वर्षों से स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं की कमी और भौगोलिक कठिनाइयों से जूझते रहे हैं। ऐसे में सेना का यह मानवीय कदम उनके लिए जीवनरेखा साबित हुआ।
शिविर का सबसे भावुक पल तब आया जब 24 दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों को कृत्रिम अंग और सहायक उपकरण वितरित किए गए। कई लोग वर्षों बाद अपने पैरों पर खड़े होकर चल सके। छोटे बच्चों को कृत्रिम अंगों की मदद से आत्मविश्वास से चलते देख लोगों की आँखें खुशी से नम हो गईं। परिवारों ने सेना के इस कदम को “आशीर्वाद” बताया जिसने उनके अपने परिजनों की जिंदगी बदल दी।
साथ ही, शिविर में 179 ग्रामीणों ने हिस्सा लिया, जिनमें महिलाएँ, बच्चे और बुजुर्ग शामिल थे। आर्मी के चिकित्सकों ने सामान्य स्वास्थ्य जांच, दवाओं का वितरण और जागरूकता सत्र आयोजित किए, जिसमें स्वच्छता और रोगों की रोकथाम संबंधी मार्गदर्शन दिया गया।
इस अवसर पर समाज कल्याण विभाग के तहसील अधिकारी और उनकी टीम भी मौजूद रही, जिन्होंने दिव्यांग जनों के मासिक पेंशन और सरकारी योजनाओं के लिए आवश्यक दस्तावेज पूरे कराए। इस तरह सेना और प्रशासन की संयुक्त कोशिश ने सीमांत इलाकों में समावेशी विकास की मिसाल कायम की।
गाँव के बुजुर्गों और परिवारों ने सेना के इस प्रयास के प्रति गहरी कृतज्ञता जताई। एक स्थानीय निवासी ने कहा – “हमारे लिए सेना केवल सीमा की रक्षा करने वाली ताकत नहीं, बल्कि जीवन की साझीदार है।”
यह शिविर केवल स्वास्थ्य सेवाएँ देने का प्रयास नहीं था, बल्कि यह सीमांत क्षेत्रों के सबसे वंचित वर्गों के सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में उठाया गया बड़ा कदम था। सेना ने एक बार फिर साबित किया कि सुरक्षा केवल सीमा पर तैनाती तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि उसमें उन लोगों का जीवन सुधारना भी शामिल है जो हर दिन सीमा के साये में जीते हैं।
बलनोई बटालियन का यह प्रयास “सेवा परम धर्म” की भावना को दर्शाता है और यह विश्वास दिलाता है कि आने वाले समय में ऐसे कार्यक्रम लगातार आयोजित किए जाएंगे ताकि एलओसी से सटे गाँव भी देश की प्रगति में शामिल महसूस कर सकें।
