Journalist Mohammad Rafiq Pathan represented Rajasthan in Digital Journalism Workshop organized in collaboration with UNICEF: Was included in the first prize winning team to give a presentation on the issue of Stubble Burning
Bikaner. The two-day workshop, organized by Amar Ujala Foundation in association with UNICEF, on leveraging digital journalism to raise awareness about climate change and COVID-19 vaccines, was held in New Delhi.
In the workshop, more than 50 students of journalism and mass communication from Sharda University, Galgotias University and Amity University, journalists from Amar Ujala, and eminent journalists of the country discussed the impact of climate change on children and how they benefit from digital journalism, especially mobile journalism. Also encouraged to raise awareness on the importance of vaccination for COVID-19 and fight misinformation against vaccines. Mohammad Rafiq Pathan, who returned after representing Rajasthan in this workshop, told that during this two-day workshop, he gave a presentation on issues like climate change and corona vaccination. During this, the group which highlighted the problem of stubble got the first prize. These include Saqib Sheikh (Faculty, Sharda University), Parikshit Nirbhay (Amar Ujala Team), Pooja Negi (Sharda University), Prerna Singh (Galgotia University), Akanksha Singh (Galgotia University), Anjali Kumari (Sharda University), Harshit Chaudhary (Galgotia University). University), Swastika Sarkar (Amity University) and Akshat Sundrani (Amity University). Under the guidance of Mohammad Rafiq Pathan of Bikaner and Satish Mishra, who came from Pilibhit, gave a presentation on this stubble-like problem. Considering it important, this group was given the first place. Communication specialist Alka Gupta and Communication Officer Sonia Sarkar were present on behalf of UNICEF India in the program. Experts discussed about corona vaccination, climate change and digital journalism. In the workshop, Mohd Rafiq Pathan from Bikaner Rajasthan and Satish Mishra from Pilibhit represented the parties.
Environmentalist Vimlendu, Shri Aditya Patel, Assistant Director, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Government of India also addressed the workshop. While interacting with the trainees involved in the workshop, he explained how real life experiences can be used. A Green Quiz was also organized to encourage awareness on environmental issues and to measure the knowledge of the students.
