Lt Gen AVS Rathee Reviews Operational Preparedness of Battle Axe Division in Desert Sector

In a significant development aimed at bolstering India’s defence preparedness along its western front, Lieutenant General AVS Rathee, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the prestigious Konark Corps, carried out a comprehensive review of the operational readiness of the famed Battle Axe Division. The review comes at a crucial juncture when regional security dynamics remain sensitive, demanding high levels of vigilance, advanced warfighting capabilities, and constant upgradation of operational strategies.

Focus on Combat Readiness and Technological Integration

During his visit, Lt Gen AVS Rathee was briefed on the latest advancements adopted by the Battle Axe Division to enhance its operational capability. Emphasising the Indian Army’s commitment to remain combat-ready at all times, he appreciated the sustained efforts of the division in integrating modern technologies, including cutting-edge surveillance systems, communication networks, battlefield management solutions, and advanced weapon platforms.

The Battle Axe Division, known for its illustrious history and strategic importance in the Thar Desert sector, has consistently played a pivotal role in maintaining India’s defensive posture along the international border. With evolving warfare doctrines, the division has proactively embraced technological innovations and training methodologies to sharpen its warfighting edge.

Operational Preparedness in Harsh Desert Terrain

The vast expanse of the Rajasthan desert presents unique operational challenges, including extreme temperatures, sandstorms, and logistical complexities. Lt Gen Rathee commended the troops for their resilience, adaptability, and dedication to maintaining a high degree of combat readiness under such harsh conditions.

The review included demonstrations of integrated battle drills, simulation-based training modules, and testing of modern equipment tailored for desert warfare. The Konark Corps leadership reiterated the need for constant evolution of tactics, incorporating lessons from recent conflicts worldwide, and leveraging indigenously developed systems under the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.

Strengthening India’s Defence Posture

The Battle Axe Division’s preparedness reflects India’s unwavering focus on ensuring territorial integrity and deterring any potential misadventures from across the border. The senior leadership highlighted the significance of synergy among various arms, including mechanised infantry, artillery, engineers, and aviation assets, to deliver a swift and decisive response in operational scenarios.

Lt Gen Rathee interacted with the troops, lauding their professionalism, high morale, and commitment to national security. He also reviewed the infrastructural developments undertaken to support sustained operations in the forward areas, ensuring the troops remain equipped with the best resources and facilities.

Legacy of the Battle Axe Division

The Battle Axe Division holds a distinguished legacy, having contributed significantly during past conflicts, including the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars. Its motto of ‘Strike Hard’ continues to guide its operational ethos. As part of the Konark Corps, the division forms a formidable component of India’s western frontier defence architecture.

The Indian Army’s proactive stance in enhancing operational capabilities, combined with technological advancements and innovative practices, underscores the country’s resolve to safeguard its borders and uphold national sovereignty.

पश्चिमी सीमा पर भारत की सैन्य तैयारियों को परखने और और अधिक सुदृढ़ करने के उद्देश्य से कोणार्क कोर के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग (जीओसी) लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल एवीएस राठी ने राजस्थान के रेगिस्तानी इलाकों में तैनात प्रतिष्ठित ‘बैटल एक्स डिवीजन’ की ऑपरेशनल तैयारियों की व्यापक समीक्षा की। यह दौरा उस समय हुआ है जब क्षेत्र में सुरक्षा परिस्थितियाँ संवेदनशील बनी हुई हैं और हर स्तर पर सतर्कता तथा आधुनिक युद्ध क्षमताओं का विस्तार आवश्यक है।

रेगिस्तान में सैन्य क्षमता और आधुनिक तकनीक का समावेश

इस अवसर पर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राठी को ‘बैटल एक्स डिवीजन’ द्वारा अपनी ऑपरेशनल क्षमताओं को बढ़ाने के लिए उठाए गए कदमों की जानकारी दी गई। उन्होंने डिवीजन द्वारा आधुनिक तकनीकों को अपनाने, निगरानी तंत्र, संचार नेटवर्क, युद्ध प्रबंधन प्रणाली और उन्नत हथियार प्रणालियों के एकीकरण की सराहना की।

थार मरुस्थल में तैनात यह डिवीजन रणनीतिक दृष्टि से बेहद महत्वपूर्ण मानी जाती है। भारतीय सेना की यह इकाई समय-समय पर अपनी युद्ध क्षमता को आधुनिक बनाने, नई तकनीकों को शामिल करने और सैनिकों को कठोर प्रशिक्षण देने के लिए पहचानी जाती है।

रेगिस्तानी परिस्थितियों में अभूतपूर्व तैयारियां

राजस्थान का रेगिस्तान अपनी चुनौतीपूर्ण परिस्थितियों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। यहां अत्यधिक तापमान, धूल भरी आंधियां और जटिल भौगोलिक परिस्थितियां सैन्य अभियानों को कठिन बनाती हैं। बावजूद इसके, ‘बैटल एक्स डिवीजन’ ने हर परिस्थिति में अपनी तत्परता साबित की है। लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राठी ने सैनिकों की साहसिकता, अनुकूलन क्षमता और उच्च मनोबल की प्रशंसा की।

इस दौरान ऑपरेशनल ड्रिल्स, सिमुलेशन आधारित प्रशिक्षण और रेगिस्तान में कारगर आधुनिक उपकरणों के प्रदर्शन भी किए गए। कोणार्क कोर के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने बताया कि ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ अभियान के तहत विकसित स्वदेशी सैन्य प्रणालियों को तेजी से सेना में शामिल किया जा रहा है।

भारत की सीमाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए सशक्त कदम

‘बैटल एक्स डिवीजन’ की तैयारियां भारत की सैन्य नीति में पश्चिमी सीमा पर किसी भी आकस्मिक स्थिति से निपटने की तत्परता को दर्शाती हैं। वरिष्ठ सैन्य नेतृत्व ने बलों के बीच तालमेल, यंत्रीकृत पैदल सेना, तोपखाना, इंजीनियरिंग यूनिट्स और आर्मी एविएशन जैसे विभिन्न घटकों के एकीकृत संचालन पर जोर दिया, जिससे किसी भी चुनौती का त्वरित और निर्णायक तरीके से जवाब दिया जा सके।

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल राठी ने जवानों से बातचीत की, उनके उत्साह व समर्पण की सराहना की और सीमावर्ती इलाकों में इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के विकास की भी समीक्षा की, ताकि सैनिकों को हरसंभव सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई जा सकें।

बैटल एक्स डिवीजन : शौर्य और पराक्रम की विरासत

‘बैटल एक्स डिवीजन’ का गौरवशाली इतिहास भारतीय सेना के स्वर्णिम अध्यायों में शामिल है। 1965 और 1971 के भारत-पाक युद्धों में इस डिवीजन ने अहम भूमिका निभाई थी। ‘स्ट्राइक हार्ड’ (जोरदार प्रहार) इसका ध्येय वाक्य है, जो हर सैनिक की कार्यशैली में स्पष्ट झलकता है।

सेना द्वारा आधुनिकरण, नवीन सैन्य रणनीतियों और अत्याधुनिक तकनीकों के समावेश के साथ-साथ सीमाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए लगातार हो रहे प्रयास भारत की संप्रभुता की सुरक्षा के प्रति अटूट संकल्प को दर्शाते हैं।
