New Delhi, October 1, 2025: The Military Nursing Service (MNS) celebrated a historic centenary milestone on October 1, 2025, with a grand commemorative ceremony in New Delhi. The event highlighted a century of unwavering dedication, professional excellence, and compassionate service by MNS officers across generations. The celebrations were graced by Shri Sanjay Seth, Raksha Rajya Mantri, who attended as the Chief Guest, along with senior officials from the Armed Forces, veterans, and serving officers of MNS from across India.
Commemorative Postal Stamp and Centenary Diary
The centenary celebrations commenced with the unveiling of a Commemorative Postal Stamp and First Day Cover dedicated to the Military Nursing Service. The stamp symbolizes national recognition of the MNS’s century-long journey, encapsulating its legacy of professional excellence, compassion, and service to the nation.
In addition, a Centenary Diary chronicling the achievements, milestones, and lived experiences of MNS officers was released, providing a comprehensive account of the evolution of the service from its inception in 1925 to its present stature. These commemorative releases serve as enduring reminders of the sacrifices, dedication, and commitment of MNS personnel.
Documentary Release: Chronicling a Century of Service
Shri Sanjay Seth also released a documentary on the Military Nursing Service, tracing the service’s journey over the past 100 years. The film highlighted the invaluable contributions of MNS officers in wartime operations, humanitarian relief efforts, UN peacekeeping missions, and nation-building initiatives. The Raksha Rajya Mantri paid special tribute to the brave women of Operation Sindoor, particularly Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi, who set new benchmarks of courage, endurance, and operational excellence. The day’s proceedings began with a solemn Wreath Laying Ceremony at the National War Memorial, led by Maj Gen Lisamma PV, ADG MNS, to honour the supreme sacrifice and valour of the Armed Forces. Centenary Commemoration Ceremony at Manekshaw Centre
Following the wreath-laying, the Centenary Commemoration Ceremony was held at the prestigious Manekshaw Centre, with a gathering of senior government officials, Armed Forces leadership, and MNS veterans. Among the distinguished attendees were:
- Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS)
- Director Generals Medical Services of Army, Navy, and Air Force

नई दिल्ली, 1 अक्टूबर 2025: भारतीय सैन्य नर्सिंग सेवा (Military Nursing Service – MNS) ने 1 अक्टूबर 2025 को नई दिल्ली में अपने शताब्दी समारोह के साथ 100 वर्षों की सेवा, समर्पण और पेशेवर उत्कृष्टता का उत्सव मनाया। इस ऐतिहासिक अवसर पर श्री संजय सेठ, रक्षा राज्य मंत्री मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे। समारोह में देशभर के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी, MNS के वर्तमान और पूर्व अधिकारी और सैन्य परिवारों के सदस्य उपस्थित थे।
स्मारक डाक टिकट और शताब्दी डायरी का अनावरण
समारोह की शुरुआत MNS के समर्पित स्मारक डाक टिकट और First Day Cover के अनावरण से हुई। यह डाक टिकट MNS के शताब्दी लंबे यात्रा और उनके समर्पित सेवाभाव का प्रतीक है, जो उनके सहानुभूति, पेशेवर उत्कृष्टता और गौरवपूर्ण विरासत को दर्शाता है।

“वुहान से नागरिकों के बचाव अभियानों में उनकी उपस्थिति, ऑपरेशन नमस्ते और ऑपरेशन समुद्र सेतु जैसी पहलों में उनकी भूमिका और पीएम केयर्स अस्पतालों का संचालन—ये सब दिखाते हैं कि वे केवल नर्सिंग अधिकारी नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्र सेवा में अग्रिम पंक्ति के योद्धा हैं।”
उन्होंने विशेष रूप से ऑपरेशन सिंदूर में भाग लेने वाली वीर महिलाओं विंग कमांडर व्योमिका सिंह और कर्नल सोफिया कुरैशी को सलाम किया। उनका साहस, धैर्य और बहादुरी ‘नारी शक्ति’ का प्रतीक हैं। मंत्री ने कहा कि भारत के विकास की दिशा में महिलाएं हर क्षेत्र में नेतृत्व कर रही हैं।
राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक में श्रद्धांजलि
दिन की शुरुआत राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक में श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने से हुई, जिसका नेतृत्व मेजर जनरल लिसम्मा PV, ADG MNS ने किया। यह समारोह भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों की बलिदानी और वीरता को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए आयोजित किया गया।
मानेकशॉ सेंटर में शताब्दी समारोह
श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने के बाद मानेकशॉ सेंटर में शताब्दी समारोह आयोजित किया गया। इस अवसर पर वरिष्ठ सरकारी अधिकारी, सशस्त्र बलों के प्रमुख और MNS के पूर्व और वर्तमान अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे। प्रमुख अतिथियों में शामिल थे:
