14 अप्रैल 2026 को डॉ बी आर अंबेडकर की 135वीं जयंती के अवसर पर राजकीय विधि स्नातकोत्तर महाविद्यालय, बीकानेर द्वारा “Relevance of Ambedkar’s Ideas in Modern India” विषय पर राष्ट्रीय स्तर का ऑनलाइन विशेषज्ञ व्याख्यान आयोजित किया गया। यह कार्यक्रम केवल एक औपचारिक आयोजन नहीं बल्कि एक बौद्धिक मंच था, जहां देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से जुड़े विद्यार्थियों, शिक्षकों और शोधकर्ताओं ने भाग लेकर डॉ अंबेडकर के विचारों की समकालीन प्रासंगिकता पर चर्चा की। इस व्याख्यान के माध्यम से उनके सामाजिक, संवैधानिक और मानवीय दृष्टिकोण को पुनः समझने और नई पीढ़ी तक पहुंचाने का प्रयास किया गया।

कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता करते हुए महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य प्रोफेसर डॉ भगवाना राम बिश्नोई ने अपने संबोधन में डॉ अंबेडकर के जीवन के विभिन्न पहलुओं पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने बताया कि किस प्रकार सामाजिक विषमताओं और कठिन परिस्थितियों का सामना करते हुए अंबेडकर ने अपने ज्ञान, मेहनत और दृढ़ संकल्प के बल पर न केवल स्वयं को स्थापित किया बल्कि पूरे देश के लिए एक मजबूत संवैधानिक ढांचा तैयार किया। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि अंबेडकर का जीवन आज के युवाओं के लिए एक प्रेरणा है, जो उन्हें संघर्ष के बावजूद अपने लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने की सीख देता है।

कार्यक्रम के अंत में आयोजित इंटरएक्टिव सत्र में विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और अंबेडकर के विचारों से जुड़े विभिन्न प्रश्न पूछे। मुख्य वक्ता ने इन सभी प्रश्नों के विस्तृत और संतोषजनक उत्तर दिए, जिससे यह सत्र और भी अधिक प्रभावी बन गया। लगभग 100 विद्यार्थियों ने इस ऑनलाइन कार्यक्रम में भाग लिया, जबकि विभिन्न संस्थानों के शिक्षक और छात्र भी इससे जुड़े, जिससे कार्यक्रम का दायरा और व्यापक हो गया।

On April 14, 2026, marking the 135th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, Government Law Postgraduate College, Bikaner organised a national-level online expert lecture on the theme “Relevance of Ambedkar’s Ideas in Modern India.” The event brought together students, academicians, and scholars from different parts of the country to reflect upon the enduring relevance of Ambedkar’s philosophy in contemporary India. The lecture served as a platform to revisit his contributions not only as the architect of the Indian Constitution but also as a visionary social reformer who laid the foundation for equality and justice in Indian society.
Principal Highlights Ambedkar’s Life and Vision
The programme was presided over by Principal Prof Dr Bhagwana Ram Bishnoi, who shared insights into the life, struggles, and achievements of Dr Ambedkar. In his address, he emphasised how Ambedkar’s journey from facing deep social discrimination to becoming the chief architect of the Constitution is a powerful example of determination and intellect. He stated that Ambedkar’s ideas on democracy, equality, and social justice continue to guide the nation and remain highly relevant in addressing modern challenges.

Organising Secretary Dr Meenakshi Kumawat highlighted the significance of such academic initiatives, stating that Dr Ambedkar’s contributions are a constant source of inspiration. She explained that programmes like these help in creating awareness among students about constitutional values, social justice, and equality. She further added that educating the younger generation about these principles is essential for building a responsible and inclusive society.
Keynote Speaker Explains Ambedkar’s Role in Shaping Modern India
The keynote address was delivered by Dr Shubhalakshmi P from Mangalore, Karnataka, who provided a detailed analysis of Dr Ambedkar’s contribution to the Indian Constitution. She described him as the principal architect of the Constitution and elaborated on his role in the Drafting Committee. Her lecture covered important aspects such as Ambedkar’s vision of social equality, his thoughts on religion and morality, and his emphasis on justice and human rights. She also spoke about his contributions towards labour rights and women empowerment, highlighting how his ideas remain deeply relevant in today’s socio-political environment.
Focus on Social Harmony and Equality
During her address, Dr Shubhalakshmi emphasised the importance of social harmony and equality in society. She stated that Dr Ambedkar strongly believed in a society where all individuals, irrespective of caste or background, live with dignity and equal rights. She also referred to social reformer Savitribai Phule, acknowledging her contribution to education and social change. The session encouraged participants to think critically about existing social structures and the need for inclusive development.
