नवपदस्थापित आईजी ओमप्रकाश ने संभाला बीकानेर रेंज का कार्यभार, सीमावर्ती सुरक्षा और समन्वय को लेकर स्पष्ट की प्राथमिकताएँ
पदभार ग्रहण के साथ बीकानेर रेंज में नई कार्यदिशा की शुरुआत
बीकानेर रेंज के नवपदस्थापित महानिरीक्षक पुलिस ने बुधवार को औपचारिक रूप से अपने पद का कार्यभार संभाल लिया। पदभार ग्रहण करने के बाद मीडिया से बातचीत में उन्होंने स्पष्ट शब्दों में कहा कि बीकानेर रेंज में कानून-व्यवस्था को और अधिक सुदृढ़ बनाना, सीमावर्ती जिलों में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को मजबूत करना तथा केंद्र की विभिन्न सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के साथ प्रभावी समन्वय स्थापित करना उनकी सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकताओं में शामिल रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि यह रेंज केवल प्रशासनिक दृष्टि से ही नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के लिहाज से भी अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है, इसलिए यहां हर स्तर पर सतर्क और प्रोएक्टिव पुलिसिंग की आवश्यकता है।
सीमावर्ती जिलों की रणनीतिक अहमियत और बहु-एजेंसी समन्वय पर जोर
आईजी ओमप्रकाश ने कहा कि बीकानेर रेंज के अंतर्गत आने वाले जिले अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा से सटे होने के कारण रणनीतिक रूप से अत्यंत संवेदनशील हैं। ऐसे क्षेत्रों में किसी भी प्रकार की चूक राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा को प्रभावित कर सकती है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए उन्होंने पुलिस, बीएसएफ, एनआईए और अन्य केंद्रीय एजेंसियों के साथ समन्वय को और अधिक मजबूत करने की बात कही। उनका कहना था कि खुफिया सूचनाओं का त्वरित आदान-प्रदान और संयुक्त रणनीति के तहत कार्रवाई से ही सीमावर्ती इलाकों में प्रभावी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित की जा सकती है।
ड्रोन गतिविधियों और नए खतरों पर कड़ी निगरानी की योजना
आईजी ने सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में बढ़ती ड्रोन गतिविधियों को गंभीर चिंता का विषय बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि आधुनिक समय में ड्रोन का इस्तेमाल तस्करी, जासूसी और अवैध गतिविधियों के लिए किया जा रहा है, जिससे सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के सामने नई चुनौतियाँ खड़ी हो रही हैं। इस खतरे से निपटने के लिए तकनीकी संसाधनों के उपयोग को बढ़ाया जाएगा और विशेष निगरानी तंत्र विकसित किया जाएगा। उनका कहना था कि ड्रोन जैसी नई तकनीकों का मुकाबला भी आधुनिक तकनीक और प्रशिक्षित मानव संसाधन के जरिए ही किया जा सकता है।
निगरानी तंत्र को मजबूत करने और संवेदनशील मार्गों की समीक्षा
नवपदस्थापित आईजी ने बताया कि सीमावर्ती इलाकों में निगरानी और सतर्कता तंत्र को और अधिक मजबूत किया जाएगा। विशेष रूप से भारतमाला परियोजना से जुड़े मार्गों और अन्य संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों का नियमित निरीक्षण किया जाएगा, ताकि किसी भी संभावित सुरक्षा चुनौती को समय रहते पहचाना जा सके। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि नौरंगदेसर से सांचौर की दिशा में जहां कहीं भी सीसीटीवी कैमरे खराब या निष्क्रिय पाए जाएंगे, उन्हें तुरंत दुरुस्त करवाने के निर्देश दिए जाएंगे, जिससे पूरे क्षेत्र में प्रभावी निगरानी बनी रहे।
अपराध नियंत्रण में आमजन की भूमिका को बताया अहम
आईजी ओमप्रकाश ने स्पष्ट किया कि अपराध नियंत्रण केवल पुलिस की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है, बल्कि इसमें आमजन की सक्रिय भागीदारी भी बेहद जरूरी है। उन्होंने लोगों से अपील की कि वे अपने आसपास होने वाली संदिग्ध गतिविधियों पर नजर रखें और किसी भी तरह की सूचना तुरंत पुलिस को दें। उनका कहना था कि जागरूक नागरिक पुलिस के लिए आंख और कान की तरह होते हैं, जिससे अपराध पर प्रभावी अंकुश लगाया जा सकता है, खासकर सीमावर्ती और ग्रामीण इलाकों में।
साइबर अपराध पर चिंता, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए जागरूकता अभियान
मीडिया से बातचीत में आईजी ने बढ़ते साइबर अपराधों पर भी चिंता जताई। उन्होंने कहा कि साइबर ठगी के मामलों में वरिष्ठ नागरिक सबसे अधिक शिकार हो रहे हैं। इसे रोकने के लिए बीकानेर रेंज में विशेष जागरूकता अभियान चलाए जाएंगे, जिनके माध्यम से लोगों को डिजिटल सुरक्षा, ऑनलाइन लेनदेन में सावधानियाँ और साइबर ठगी से बचाव के तरीकों की जानकारी दी जाएगी। उन्होंने भरोसा जताया कि जागरूकता के जरिए साइबर अपराधों पर काफी हद तक नियंत्रण पाया जा सकता है।
सुरक्षा और विकास के संतुलन के साथ आगे बढ़ने का संकल्प
अपने संबोधन के अंत में आईजी ओमप्रकाश ने विश्वास जताया कि पुलिस, प्रशासन और आमजन के संयुक्त प्रयासों से बीकानेर रेंज में कानून-व्यवस्था को और अधिक मजबूत किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि लक्ष्य केवल सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करना नहीं है, बल्कि ऐसा सुरक्षित वातावरण तैयार करना है, जिसमें सीमावर्ती जिलों में विकास भी निर्बाध रूप से आगे बढ़ सके। उनके नेतृत्व में बीकानेर रेंज में तकनीक-आधारित, समन्वयपूर्ण और जन-केंद्रित पुलिसिंग को नई दिशा मिलने की उम्मीद जताई जा रही है।

Formal Assumption of Charge Marks a New Phase for Bikaner Range Policing
The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IG) of Bikaner Range, , formally assumed charge on Wednesday, signalling the beginning of a renewed and focused approach towards law enforcement in one of Rajasthan’s most strategically significant regions. After taking over the reins, the IG interacted with the media and outlined his priorities, stressing that strengthening law and order, enhancing border security, and ensuring seamless coordination with central agencies would remain at the core of his operational strategy. His charge-taking comes at a crucial juncture when internal security challenges are becoming increasingly complex due to evolving threats along the international border and within the hinterland.
Strategic Importance of Border Districts and Heightened Security Focus
Addressing the media, the IG emphasised that the districts under Bikaner Range are of immense strategic importance due to their proximity to the international border. He noted that border security cannot be viewed in isolation and requires a comprehensive, multi-agency approach. Keeping this in mind, he stated that coordination with agencies such as the Border Security Force (BSF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), and other central intelligence and enforcement bodies would be further strengthened. This integrated approach, he said, would help in timely intelligence sharing, swift operational response, and effective prevention of cross-border threats.
Special Vigilance Against Drone Activity and Emerging Threats
One of the key areas of concern highlighted by the IG was the growing incidence of drone-related activities in border areas. He acknowledged that drones are increasingly being used for smuggling, surveillance, and other unlawful purposes, posing new challenges for security forces. To counter this, he said that special vigilance would be maintained, and the use of advanced technical resources would be expanded. Surveillance mechanisms would be upgraded to detect, track, and neutralise such threats, ensuring that the border remains secure against both conventional and non-conventional risks.
Strengthening Surveillance Infrastructure and Border Monitoring
The IG underlined the need to reinforce the surveillance and monitoring framework in border districts. He stated that vigilance and monitoring systems in sensitive areas would be strengthened, with particular attention to routes connected to major infrastructure projects such as the Bharatmala corridor. Regular inspections of these routes and surrounding areas would be conducted to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities well in time. He further added that if CCTV cameras installed from Naurangdesar towards Sanchore are found to be non-functional at any location, immediate instructions would be issued for their repair to ensure uninterrupted surveillance coverage.
Public Participation as a Pillar of Crime Control
Highlighting the role of citizens in maintaining law and order, the IG remarked that crime control is not solely the responsibility of the police. He stressed that public awareness and cooperation are equally vital. Citizens, he said, must remain alert to both crime and criminals and should promptly inform the police about any suspicious activities. According to him, a vigilant and informed public acts as a force multiplier, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of policing efforts, especially in vast and sparsely populated border regions.
Rising Cyber Crime and Focus on Senior Citizen Safety
Expressing concern over the rising cases of cyber crime, the IG pointed out that senior citizens are increasingly becoming targets of digital fraud. He announced that special awareness campaigns would be launched across the Bikaner Range to educate people about cyber security, online frauds, and safe digital practices. These initiatives, he said, would focus on empowering citizens with knowledge so that they can protect themselves against cyber threats and promptly report incidents, enabling quicker action by law enforcement agencies.
Vision for Balanced Security and Development in Border Areas
Concluding his interaction, the IG expressed confidence that with coordinated efforts from the police, civil administration, and the general public, law and order in Bikaner Range can be further strengthened. He reiterated that the objective is not only to ensure robust security in border districts but also to facilitate balanced development by creating a safe and stable environment. Under his leadership, the Bikaner Range is expected to witness a proactive, technology-driven, and people-centric policing approach that addresses both traditional and emerging security challenges while fostering trust between the police and the community.
