The Indian Navy has successfully concluded Operation Southern Readiness 26-2, a prestigious four-day multinational maritime security training engagement held at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi, on 23 July 2026. Conducted in partnership with the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) under the aegis of Southern Naval Command and the Indian Navy-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 154, the exercise showcased India’s growing leadership in maritime security and multinational naval cooperation. The programme brought together 276 participants from 27 countries, supported by 76 facilitators and Subject Matter Experts, along with representatives from four international organisations. The event highlighted India’s commitment to enhancing regional maritime stability, improving operational coordination, and strengthening partnerships across the Indo-Pacific and the wider Indian Ocean Region.
Grand Inauguration Marks the Beginning of a High-Level International Engagement
The multinational engagement commenced on 20 July 2026 with an impressive inaugural ceremony led by Rear Admiral Deepak Singhal, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Headquarters Southern Naval Command. The event was attended by Commodore Dan Thomas, Royal Navy, Deputy Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, senior officers of the Indian Navy, foreign naval delegates, military observers, maritime security experts, and representatives from participating nations. The inaugural session emphasized the importance of collaborative maritime security in an era of evolving threats such as piracy, terrorism, illegal trafficking, cyber challenges, and the increasing strategic significance of the Indian Ocean. The Chief Staff Officer (Training) delivered the valedictory address, praising the dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit demonstrated by all participants throughout the exercise. 3,800 Training Man-Hours Reflect Scale of the Exercise
Operation Southern Readiness 26-2 generated approximately 3,800 training man-hours, reflecting the extensive scope and intensity of the programme. The large volume of professional engagement underscores the Indian Navy’s commitment to delivering meaningful, high-quality training that translates directly into improved operational effectiveness. भारतीय नौसेना द्वारा आयोजित चार दिवसीय बहुराष्ट्रीय समुद्री सुरक्षा प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम ऑपरेशन सदर्न रेडीनेस 26-2 का 23 जुलाई 2026 को कोच्चि स्थित सदर्न नेवल कमांड में सफल समापन हुआ। यह अभ्यास भारतीय नौसेना, कंबाइंड मैरीटाइम फोर्सेज (CMF) और भारतीय नौसेना के नेतृत्व वाले कंबाइंड टास्क फोर्स-154 (CTF-154) के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में आयोजित किया गया। इस महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रम में 27 देशों के 276 प्रतिभागियों, 76 प्रशिक्षकों एवं विषय विशेषज्ञों तथा चार अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया। यह आयोजन केवल एक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम नहीं बल्कि हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में समुद्री सुरक्षा, क्षेत्रीय सहयोग और वैश्विक साझेदारी को मजबूत करने की दिशा में भारत की बढ़ती भूमिका का सशक्त प्रदर्शन था।

20 जुलाई को कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ रियर एडमिरल दीपक सिंघल, चीफ स्टाफ ऑफिसर (ट्रेनिंग), सदर्न नेवल कमांड ने किया। इस अवसर पर रॉयल नेवी के कमोडोर डैन थॉमस, डिप्टी कमांडर, कंबाइंड मैरीटाइम फोर्सेज सहित भारतीय नौसेना के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी, विदेशी प्रतिनिधि, नौसैनिक विशेषज्ञ और विभिन्न देशों के सैन्य अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे। उद्घाटन समारोह में समुद्री डकैती, आतंकवाद, मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी, साइबर खतरे तथा हिंद महासागर की बढ़ती सामरिक महत्ता जैसे विषयों पर अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहयोग की आवश्यकता पर विशेष बल दिया गया।
समुद्री सुरक्षा के हर पहलू पर हुआ गहन प्रशिक्षण
चार दिनों तक चले इस कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभागियों को Maritime Domain Awareness, Information Sharing, Maritime Law, Counter Narcotics Operations, Force Protection Measures, Asymmetric Threats, Maritime Uncrewed Systems तथा Operational Sea Training जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर विस्तृत प्रशिक्षण दिया गया। आधुनिक सिम्युलेटर, व्यावहारिक अभ्यास और विशेषज्ञ व्याख्यानों के माध्यम से प्रतिभागियों को वास्तविक परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया गया, जिससे उनकी पेशेवर क्षमता और परिचालन दक्षता में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि हुई।

प्रतिभागियों ने Damage Control, Fire Fighting, Survival at Sea, Boarding Operations, Maritime Communications तथा भारतीय नौसेना के युद्धपोत पर Sea Training सहित कई व्यावहारिक अभ्यासों में भाग लिया। इन अभ्यासों ने वास्तविक समुद्री आपदाओं और सुरक्षा अभियानों का अनुभव प्रदान किया, जिससे प्रतिभागियों का आत्मविश्वास बढ़ा और विभिन्न देशों की नौसेनाओं के बीच तालमेल और बेहतर हुआ।
27 देशों के बीच बढ़ी इंटरऑपरेबिलिटी और साझेदारी
इस अभ्यास का सबसे बड़ा उद्देश्य विभिन्न देशों की नौसेनाओं, तटरक्षक बलों और समुद्री सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के बीच बेहतर समन्वय स्थापित करना था। प्रशिक्षण के दौरान प्रतिभागियों ने संयुक्त अभियानों, साझा रणनीतियों और भविष्य में सहयोग के नए अवसरों पर विचार-विमर्श किया। इससे क्षेत्रीय समुद्री सुरक्षा को और अधिक मजबूत आधार मिला।

23 जुलाई को आयोजित समापन समारोह में कमोडोर मिलिंद एम. मोकाशी, कमांडर CTF-154 ने समापन संबोधन दिया तथा प्रशिक्षकों को प्रमाण-पत्र प्रदान किए गए। चीफ स्टाफ ऑफिसर (ट्रेनिंग) ने अपने संबोधन में सभी प्रतिभागियों की पेशेवर प्रतिबद्धता, अनुशासन और सहयोग की सराहना की तथा इस अभ्यास को भविष्य की समुद्री सुरक्षा साझेदारी के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण बताया।
3,800 प्रशिक्षण मानव-घंटों के साथ बना नया रिकॉर्ड
चार दिनों में कुल 3,800 प्रशिक्षण मानव-घंटों का सृजन इस कार्यक्रम की व्यापकता और गंभीरता को दर्शाता है। यह केवल एक अभ्यास नहीं बल्कि वैश्विक समुद्री सुरक्षा नेटवर्क को मजबूत करने की दिशा में भारत की दीर्घकालिक रणनीति का महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है।
हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में भारत की बढ़ती समुद्री नेतृत्व क्षमता का प्रदर्शन
