Pakistani Flag-Printed Balloons Seized in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar with Biscuit Packets; Wholesaler Arrested in Madhya Pradesh
The disturbing discovery has triggered outrage across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, with police investigating cross-state supply chains and potential deliberate attempts to circulate Pakistani propaganda material.
In a sensational development that has caused both anger and concern in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, police in Jhalawar district seized biscuit packets attached with balloons bearing the Pakistani national flag and inscriptions in Urdu reading “Jashn-e-Azadi – 14 August”. The incident first surfaced in Jhalawar’s Gangdhar subdivision when a family discovered that a balloon provided free with a biscuit packet carried the green-and-white Pakistani flag and celebratory slogans linked to Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The revelation shocked locals and sparked immediate outrage. Within hours, the matter escalated from a neighborhood complaint into a cross-border state investigation involving police teams from both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The Discovery at a Local Shop
The case began in the small town of Unhel Nageshwar, under Jhalawar’s Gangdhar subdivision. A young girl had purchased a packet of biscuits from a local grocery shop. On opening the packet at home, her family noticed that a balloon had been attached to it. When the child inflated the balloon, the Pakistani flag along with the Urdu inscription “Jashn-e-Azadi, 14 August” became visible.
Shocked by the discovery, the family rushed to the shopkeeper to question him. Word quickly spread through the area, drawing angry crowds who protested the circulation of such material in India. Several Hindu organisations also joined the protest, demanding immediate police intervention and strict action against those responsible.
Police Action and Seizures
Local police under Nageshwar station in Jhalawar swiftly intervened. A team led by Head Constable Govardhan seized the biscuit packets and balloons from the shop and detained the shopkeeper for questioning. According to preliminary statements, the shopkeeper claimed that he had sourced the goods from a wholesale trader in Alot, Madhya Pradesh.
The shopkeeper further admitted that the balloons were being distributed free along with biscuit packets as a “promotional offer” to attract children. He insisted that he was unaware of the Pakistani flag or slogans printed on the balloons.
Police immediately expanded the probe and dispatched a team to Madhya Pradesh’s Alot town in Ratlam district to trace the supplier.
Arrest of Wholesaler in Ratlam
On Wednesday morning, Ratlam police, in coordination with Jhalawar district police, arrested Dilip Kamariya, a wholesale grocery trader based in Alot. Dilip was accused of distributing the controversial balloons along with biscuit packets to smaller retailers across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Ratlam Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar confirmed that while the case originated in Jhalawar, Rajasthan Police was taking the lead in investigation. Rajasthan’s police officials are now interrogating Kamariya to establish the source of the balloons and to uncover whether this was a deliberate attempt at spreading Pakistani propaganda or simply a commercial blunder.
Kamariya’s Defence: Goods Procured from Indore
During preliminary questioning, Kamariya reportedly admitted that he had procured the balloons from Indore. According to his statement, he had purchased nearly 20 packets of balloons from a supplier in the city, along with other grocery stock.
He confessed that he had attached these balloons to biscuit packets himself, intending to distribute them free of cost to children as a marketing gimmick to boost sales. Kamariya, however, denied any malicious intent, claiming he had not noticed the Pakistani flag or the Urdu writing before distribution.
Widespread Outrage and Protests
The discovery of Pakistani flag balloons in Jhalawar has provoked widespread anger among locals. Several Hindu organisations in both Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh staged protests, demanding stringent action against those responsible for allowing such items to enter Indian markets.
The circulation of items celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day, especially in border states with historical sensitivities, has been described by activists as an “insult to Indian sovereignty and national pride.” Many expressed suspicion that such material could be part of a deliberate attempt to create discord or test India’s internal vigilance.
Possible Larger Supply Network
Police officials remain cautious about making definitive statements. However, they have confirmed that the investigation now focuses on tracing the origin of the balloons in Indore. Authorities are working to determine whether the items were manufactured locally, imported, or deliberately smuggled into the Indian market.
Officials are also examining whether Kamariya’s distribution of the balloons was indeed a personal marketing initiative or if he had ties to a larger network attempting to push sensitive material into rural markets in Rajasthan.
A senior officer in Jhalawar police told reporters:
“At present, we cannot confirm whether this was an isolated incident of negligence or part of a coordinated attempt. Until we identify the manufacturer and the chain of supply, every possibility will remain under scrutiny.”
Local Trader Body’s Reaction
In Alot, the trader community has attempted to defend Kamariya, calling the episode a “human mistake.” Dinesh Kothari, president of the Alot Vyapari Sangh (Trader’s Association), stated that Kamariya might have been unaware of the contents of the balloons when distributing them.
“This could very well be a case of negligence in the supply chain rather than intentional subversion,” Kothari said. “But at the same time, there is a possibility of a larger conspiracy behind it, given the sensitivity of the matter.”
National Security Concerns
The circulation of Pakistani-flag balloons, particularly in regions bordering Pakistan such as Rajasthan, has raised questions of national security. With India maintaining a strict stance on issues related to Pakistan, the presence of such symbols has triggered alarm among intelligence circles.
Experts note that even if this turns out to be a case of commercial negligence, it highlights vulnerabilities in supply chains where materials with foreign propaganda or sensitive political messaging can easily enter Indian markets unnoticed.
What Lies Ahead
For now, Kamariya remains in custody, and police teams in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh continue joint investigations to track down the balloon suppliers in Indore. Authorities are also expected to question printing units that may have produced the balloons with Pakistani flags and Urdu slogans.
Until a clearer picture emerges, the matter remains highly sensitive. With communal organisations pressing for immediate punitive measures and security agencies focusing on the possibility of foreign influence, the case has quickly escalated from a local retail issue into one with national-level implications.
As Rajasthan police officers put it:
“What appeared as a simple balloon is no longer child’s play. Every such incident, intentional or not, must be treated with utmost seriousness in today’s climate.”

राजस्थान के झालावाड़ जिले में एक सनसनीखेज मामला सामने आया है जिसने स्थानीय स्तर से लेकर राज्य भर में आक्रोश और चिंता को जन्म दिया है। गंगधार उपखंड के उन्हेल नागेश्वर इलाके में बिस्किट पैकेटों के साथ बच्चों को मुफ्त में दिए जा रहे गुब्बारों पर पाकिस्तान का हरा-सफेद झंडा और उर्दू में “जश्न-ए-आजादी – 14 अगस्त” लिखा पाया गया। यह वही तारीख है जिस दिन पाकिस्तान स्वतंत्रता दिवस मनाता है।
जैसे ही यह गुब्बारे एक बच्ची के हाथ लगे और मामला सामने आया, स्थानीय लोगों में गुस्से की लहर दौड़ गई। देखते ही देखते यह घटना एक साधारण शिकायत से निकलकर राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश दोनों राज्यों की पुलिस की संयुक्त जांच का विषय बन गई।
स्थानीय दुकान से हुआ खुलासा
पूरा मामला उन्हेल नागेश्वर कस्बे में शुरू हुआ, जहां एक बच्ची ने स्थानीय किराना दुकान से बिस्किट का पैकेट खरीदा। जब उसने घर जाकर पैकेट खोला तो उसमें एक गुब्बारा चिपका मिला। बच्ची ने जैसे ही गुब्बारा फुलाया, उस पर पाकिस्तान का झंडा और उर्दू में “जश्न-ए-आजादी, 14 अगस्त” लिखा हुआ साफ दिखाई दिया।
यह दृश्य देखकर परिवार सकते में आ गया। उन्होंने तुरंत दुकानदार से शिकायत की। थोड़ी ही देर में यह खबर पूरे इलाके में फैल गई और लोग दुकान के बाहर इकट्ठा होकर विरोध करने लगे। कई हिंदूवादी संगठनों ने भी इसका कड़ा विरोध दर्ज कराया और पुलिस से कठोर कार्रवाई की मांग की।
पुलिस की त्वरित कार्रवाई
मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए नागेश्वर पुलिस तुरंत मौके पर पहुंची। हेड कॉन्स्टेबल गोवर्धन के नेतृत्व में टीम ने दुकान से बिस्किट और गुब्बारे जब्त किए और दुकानदार को थाने ले जाकर पूछताछ की।
दुकानदार ने पूछताछ में बताया कि उसने यह माल मध्य प्रदेश के आलोट कस्बे के एक थोक व्यापारी दिलीप कामरिया से खरीदा था। उसने यह भी स्वीकार किया कि वह बच्चों को आकर्षित करने और ज्यादा बिक्री के लिए बिस्किट के साथ मुफ्त गुब्बारे दे रहा था। दुकानदार ने दावा किया कि उसे गुब्बारों पर पाकिस्तानी झंडा और नारे लिखे होने की जानकारी नहीं थी।
पुलिस ने मामले को आगे बढ़ाते हुए तुरंत एक टीम आलोट भेजी और व्यापारी तक पहुंचने की कोशिश शुरू कर दी।
आलोट से थोक व्यापारी गिरफ्तार
बुधवार सुबह रतलाम पुलिस और झालावाड़ पुलिस की संयुक्त कार्रवाई में आलोट के थोक व्यापारी दिलीप कामरिया को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। कामरिया पर आरोप है कि वह छोटे दुकानदारों को बिस्किट पैकेटों के साथ यह विवादित गुब्बारे सप्लाई कर रहा था।
रतलाम एसपी अमित कुमार ने पुष्टि की कि यह मामला मूल रूप से राजस्थान का है और वहां की पुलिस ही जांच की अगुवाई कर रही है। दिलीप से पूछताछ में यह भी सामने आया कि उसने ये गुब्बारे इंदौर से खरीदे थे।
व्यापारी की सफाई: इंदौर से लाए थे गुब्बारे
प्राथमिक पूछताछ में दिलीप कामरिया ने कबूल किया कि उसने करीब 20 पैकेट गुब्बारे इंदौर से खरीदे थे। उसका कहना है कि उसने इन्हें बिस्किट पैकेटों पर खुद ही चिपकाकर मुफ्त वितरण की योजना बनाई थी, ताकि बच्चों को आकर्षित कर बिक्री बढ़ाई जा सके।
हालांकि उसने यह भी दावा किया कि उसे इस बात की जानकारी नहीं थी कि गुब्बारों पर पाकिस्तान का झंडा और “जश्न-ए-आजादी” जैसे शब्द छपे हुए हैं।
विरोध और आक्रोश की लहर
इस घटना ने राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश दोनों राज्यों में भारी आक्रोश पैदा कर दिया। कई हिंदू संगठनों ने विरोध प्रदर्शन किए और मांग की कि ऐसी घटनाओं को राष्ट्रविरोधी साजिश के तौर पर लिया जाए और इसमें शामिल लोगों को कठोर दंड दिया जाए।
स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि यह सिर्फ एक लापरवाही का मामला नहीं हो सकता, बल्कि संभव है कि इसके पीछे कोई सुनियोजित साजिश हो, क्योंकि सीमावर्ती इलाकों में पाकिस्तान से जुड़े प्रतीकों का प्रसार गंभीर मामला है।
क्या है कोई बड़ा नेटवर्क?
पुलिस अधिकारी अभी इस घटना को लेकर सतर्क रुख अपनाए हुए हैं। जांचकर्ता अब इंदौर में गुब्बारों के स्रोत का पता लगाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। सवाल यह है कि क्या ये गुब्बारे स्थानीय स्तर पर बने थे, बाहर से मंगाए गए थे या जानबूझकर भारतीय बाजार में धकेले गए।
एक वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधिकारी ने कहा:
“फिलहाल हम यह तय नहीं कर सकते कि यह एक व्यापारी की लापरवाही है या कोई संगठित साजिश। जब तक गुब्बारों के निर्माता और पूरी सप्लाई चेन का पता नहीं चलता, हर संभावना पर जांच जारी रहेगी।”
व्यापारी संघ ने बताया मानवीय भूल
आलोट व्यापारी संघ ने दिलीप कामरिया का बचाव करते हुए इसे मानवीय भूल बताया है। व्यापारी संघ के अध्यक्ष दिनेश कोठारी ने कहा कि संभव है कामरिया गुब्बारों की प्रिंटिंग को लेकर अनजान रहा हो।
उन्होंने कहा, “यह सप्लाई चेन की गलती भी हो सकती है, लेकिन इतनी संवेदनशील घटना को नज़रअंदाज़ नहीं किया जा सकता। पुलिस को जांच में यह देखना होगा कि कहीं यह किसी बड़ी साजिश का हिस्सा तो नहीं।”
राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा पर सवाल
पाकिस्तानी झंडे और “जश्न-ए-आजादी” लिखे गुब्बारों का राजस्थान जैसे सीमावर्ती राज्य में मिलना राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से बेहद चिंताजनक है। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि अगर यह केवल व्यावसायिक लापरवाही भी है, तब भी यह भारतीय सप्लाई चेन की कमजोरियों को उजागर करता है।
ऐसे संवेदनशील प्रतीकों का बिना जांच-परख के बाजार में पहुंचना इस बात का संकेत है कि सतर्कता और कड़ी निगरानी की सख्त आवश्यकता है।
आगे क्या?
फिलहाल दिलीप कामरिया पुलिस हिरासत में है। राजस्थान और मध्य प्रदेश की पुलिस की संयुक्त टीम अब इंदौर की उन प्रिंटिंग और सप्लाई यूनिट्स तक पहुंचने की कोशिश कर रही है, जहां से यह विवादित गुब्बारे आए।
मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए सुरक्षा एजेंसियां भी सक्रिय हो गई हैं। यह जांच यह तय करेगी कि यह मामला महज एक लापरवाह व्यापारी का है या इसके पीछे कोई सुनियोजित विदेशी प्रभाव मौजूद है।
राजस्थान पुलिस के एक अधिकारी ने कहा:
“यह महज एक गुब्बारा नहीं है, बल्कि राष्ट्रीय संवेदनशीलता से जुड़ा मामला है। चाहे यह गलती हो या साजिश, हर ऐसी घटना को गंभीरता से लेना ही होगा।”
बच्चों को बिस्किट पैकेट के साथ पाकिस्तानी झंडे वाले गुब्बारे दिए जा रहे थे।
