PM Modi Receives Armed Forces Flag Pin, Urges Contributions for Armed Forces Flag Day Fund
On Armed Forces Flag Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the bravery and sacrifices of India’s soldiers and called on citizens to contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund. In a heartfelt tribute shared on X, PM Modi emphasized the significance of the day, describing it as an opportunity to acknowledge the valor and determination of the armed forces. He stated, “Their bravery inspires us, their sacrifices humble us, and their dedication keeps us safe. Let’s also contribute to the Armed Forces Flag Day fund.”
During the observance, a defense official ceremoniously pinned the Armed Forces Flag on Prime Minister Modi, marking the occasion with a display of respect towards the military personnel who serve the nation.
In a similar vein, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi also contributed to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. The Indian Army announced this gesture through a post on X, noting that General Dwivedi made his contribution on behalf of the Army. The statement added that the Secretary of the Kendriya Sainik Board honored the Chief of Army Staff by pinning an Armed Forces Flag on him during the event.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh joined the chorus of calls for public support by encouraging citizens to generously donate to the fund. In a video message shared on X, Singh emphasized the collective responsibility of the nation to ensure the well-being of both active and retired soldiers and their families. He characterized the day as one for recognizing the indomitable courage and commitment of military personnel, reaffirming the necessity of fulfilling obligations toward these brave individuals.
“Our Armed Forces act as an impregnable security shield, which is ever-ready to protect us in every situation—not just from external threats but also during natural disasters,” Singh stated. He highlighted the inspiration that soldiers’ sacrifices and discipline provide to every Indian and reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen. Singh assured that efforts are ongoing to address the needs of veterans and their families, fostering a supportive environment for those who have served the country.
