Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh in Bhuj on Vijayadashami Eve: Urges Soldiers to Embrace New Technologies, Train Relentlessly, and Stay Prepared for Every Challenge

On the eve of Vijayadashami, India’s Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering commitment to its Armed Forces as he joined soldiers for the traditional ‘Barakhana’ in Bhuj, Gujarat. In an event marked by warmth, symbolism, and strategic messaging, the Raksha Mantri underscored the evolving nature of modern warfare and the need for continuous adaptation, technological integration, and uncompromising readiness among India’s defenders.
A Festival of Victory Amidst Soldiers of Valour
Vijayadashami, a festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, truth over falsehood, and righteousness over injustice, found a deeper resonance as Rajnath Singh chose to celebrate it in the company of soldiers. Bhuj, often referred to as the land of courage and resilience, served as a fitting backdrop for the occasion.
The Defence Minister recalled the bravery displayed by the people and soldiers of Kutch during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the 1999 Kargil conflict, and the resilience they demonstrated in the aftermath of the devastating 2001 earthquake. “The soil of Kutch carries in its grains the bravery and indomitable spirit of its people and soldiers. Bhuj is not just a geographical location, it is an emotion, a saga of courage, and an enduring symbol of rising like a phoenix from the ashes,” he remarked, drawing applause from the gathering of soldiers and officers.
Technology, Training, and Preparedness: The Mantra for Modern Warfare
In his address, the Raksha Mantri painted a candid picture of the rapidly transforming security environment. “In today’s world, the very nature of technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace. What we consider modern today becomes outdated tomorrow. Wars are no longer fought by conventional means alone. They are being shaped by drones, cyber intrusions, information warfare, and hybrid threats,” he said.
He emphasised that while traditional threats from across the borders remain, new dimensions of warfare—such as terrorism, cyber-attacks, drone strikes, and propaganda warfare—have multiplied the risks. “These cannot be countered by weapons alone. Mental strength, updated knowledge, and quick adaptability are equally important. Wars are won by discipline, morale, and constant readiness,” he stressed.
Rajnath Singh urged the soldiers to constantly train, adapt to new technologies, and prepare themselves for every contingency. “Embrace new technologies, make training an integral part of your daily routine, and keep yourself battle-ready for every situation. The force that remains invincible is the one that continuously learns and adapts,” he said, laying down a clear vision for India’s defence preparedness.
Welfare of Soldiers: A Non-Negotiable Priority
The Defence Minister reaffirmed that the welfare of soldiers is central to the government’s policies and vision. “The well-being of our soldiers is non-negotiable,” he said, assuring that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to modernization of the Armed Forces, improved welfare measures for serving personnel, due recognition for veterans, and enhanced support for the families of soldiers.
He reminded the gathering that the strength of India’s armed forces is not only in their weapons and platforms but also in the unyielding morale and motivation that comes from knowing that the nation stands solidly behind them.
A Self-Reliant Defence Ecosystem for a Stronger India
Looking at the broader picture, Rajnath Singh described the 21st century as “India’s century” and reiterated the government’s resolve to build a self-reliant and powerful military under the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. He highlighted the progress India has made in indigenous defence manufacturing and technology, expressing confidence that the nation is on its way to developing one of the finest militaries in the world.
“The dream of a strong, self-reliant, and developed India rests on the shoulders of our soldiers. It is through their dedication and sacrifice that this dream is being fulfilled every day. With the commitment of our Armed Forces and the vision of our leadership, India will soon be home to one of the strongest and most advanced militaries in the world,” the Raksha Mantri affirmed.
A Symbolic Gathering of Leadership and Brotherhood
The Barakhana, traditionally a communal feast where soldiers and officers come together, symbolized the bonds of unity and fraternity in the armed forces. It also underscored the Defence Minister’s intent to personally connect with soldiers, sharing food, stories, and inspiration on the eve of an auspicious festival.
The event was attended by senior military leadership, including the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi; the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Army Command, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth; and the Corps Commander, 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Aditya Vikram Singh Rathee. Their presence reflected not only the operational importance of the Western frontier but also the symbolic strength of India’s unified military leadership.
Vijayadashami Spirit Meets Military Resolve
As lamps flickered across the land of Bhuj on Vijayadashami eve, the gathering of soldiers and officers with the Raksha Mantri symbolised the eternal message of the festival—the victory of good over evil, and the triumph of courage, unity, and resilience over adversity.
In his closing message, Rajnath Singh saluted the spirit of India’s soldiers. “The invincible power of our nation lies in your sacrifice, dedication, and unbreakable spirit. Every Indian sleeps peacefully because you remain awake. The festival of Vijayadashami reminds us of our eternal duty—to protect, to fight for justice, and to ensure the triumph of truth.”
With that, the evening in Bhuj became not just a ceremonial gathering but a reaffirmation of India’s military resolve, its cultural spirit, and its vision for a secure and self-reliant future.

विजयदशमी की पूर्व संध्या पर रक्षा मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने गुजरात के भुज में आयोजित पारंपरिक ‘बराखाना’ में सैनिकों के साथ समय बिताया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने सशस्त्र बलों के प्रति राष्ट्र की अटूट प्रतिबद्धता को दोहराते हुए आधुनिक युद्ध की बदलती प्रकृति और नई तकनीकों के साथ निरंतर अनुकूलन की आवश्यकता पर बल दिया।
परंपरा और पराक्रम के बीच पर्व का उत्सव
विजयदशमी, जो अच्छाई पर बुराई, सत्य पर असत्य और न्याय पर अन्याय की विजय का प्रतीक है, इस बार सैनिकों की संगति में और भी गहन अर्थ प्राप्त कर रही थी। भुज की धरती, जिसे साहस और धैर्य की भूमि कहा जाता है, इस पर्व के आयोजन के लिए उपयुक्त स्थल बनी।
रक्षा मंत्री ने कच्छ के वीरतापूर्ण इतिहास को याद करते हुए कहा कि यह क्षेत्र 1971 के भारत-पाक युद्ध, 1999 के कारगिल युद्ध और 2001 के विनाशकारी भूकंप के बाद दिखाई गई अदम्य शक्ति का जीवंत प्रतीक है। “कच्छ की मिट्टी के कण-कण में साहस और अजेय आत्मबल की गाथा है। भुज केवल एक भूगोल नहीं, यह एक भावना है, यह साहस की गाथा है और राख से फीनिक्स की तरह उठने की अडिग मिसाल है,” उन्होंने कहा।
तकनीक, प्रशिक्षण और तत्परता: आधुनिक युद्ध का मंत्र
अपने संबोधन में रक्षा मंत्री ने साफ किया कि आधुनिक युद्ध का स्वरूप लगातार बदल रहा है। “आज की दुनिया में तकनीक तेजी से बदल रही है। जो कुछ वर्ष पहले आधुनिक माना जाता था, वह आज अप्रचलित हो चुका है। युद्ध अब पारंपरिक साधनों से ही नहीं, बल्कि ड्रोन, साइबर हमले, सूचना युद्ध और आतंकवाद जैसे नए खतरों से भी तय होते हैं,” उन्होंने कहा।
उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि इन चुनौतियों का सामना केवल हथियारों से नहीं किया जा सकता। मानसिक शक्ति, अद्यतन ज्ञान और परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप तेजी से ढलने की क्षमता उतनी ही महत्वपूर्ण है। “युद्ध हथियारों से नहीं, बल्कि अनुशासन, मनोबल और निरंतर तैयारी से जीते जाते हैं,” उन्होंने कहा।
सैनिकों से उन्होंने अपील की—“नई तकनीकों को अपनाइए, प्रशिक्षण को अपनी दिनचर्या का हिस्सा बनाइए और हर परिस्थिति के लिए खुद को तैयार रखिए। आज की दुनिया में वही शक्ति अजेय है, जो लगातार सीखती है और नई चुनौतियों के अनुसार खुद को ढालती है।”
सैनिकों का कल्याण सर्वोपरि
रक्षा मंत्री ने भरोसा दिलाया कि सैनिकों के कल्याण से कोई समझौता नहीं होगा। “The well-being of our soldiers is non-negotiable,” उन्होंने दृढ़ स्वर में कहा।
उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि केंद्र सरकार सशस्त्र बलों के आधुनिकीकरण, सैनिकों के परिवारों की सुरक्षा, पूर्व सैनिकों के सम्मान और कल्याण के लिए पूरी तरह प्रतिबद्ध है। “भारत की सेना की ताकत सिर्फ हथियारों में नहीं, बल्कि उस अटूट विश्वास और मनोबल में है कि पूरा राष्ट्र उनके साथ खड़ा है,” उन्होंने कहा।
आत्मनिर्भर भारत की दिशा में निर्णायक कदम
रक्षा मंत्री ने 21वीं सदी को “भारत का युग” बताते हुए कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व में देश रक्षा उत्पादन में आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर तेजी से बढ़ रहा है। उन्होंने विश्वास जताया कि आने वाले समय में भारत दुनिया की सबसे सशक्त और आधुनिक सेनाओं का घर बनेगा।
“मजबूत, आत्मनिर्भर और विकसित भारत का सपना हमारे सैनिकों के कंधों पर टिका है। उनका समर्पण और बलिदान ही इस सपने को हर दिन साकार कर रहा है,” उन्होंने कहा।
नेतृत्व और भाईचारे का प्रतीक
बराखाना—एक पारंपरिक सामूहिक भोजन, जिसमें सैनिक और अधिकारी साथ बैठकर भोजन करते हैं—ने इस अवसर को और अधिक भावनात्मक बना दिया। इसने सशस्त्र बलों की एकता और भाईचारे की भावना को रेखांकित किया।
इस अवसर पर सेना प्रमुख जनरल उपेन्द्र द्विवेदी, दक्षिणी सेना कमान के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल धीरज सेठ और 12 कोर के कोर कमांडर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल आदित्य विक्रम सिंह राठी भी उपस्थित रहे। यह न केवल पश्चिमी मोर्चे की सामरिक महत्ता को दर्शाता है बल्कि भारतीय सैन्य नेतृत्व की एकजुटता का भी प्रतीक था।
विजयदशमी की भावना और सैनिकों का संकल्प
जैसे ही विजयदशमी की पूर्व संध्या पर भुज की धरती दीपों से जगमगाई, रक्षा मंत्री और सैनिकों की यह संगति अच्छाई की बुराई पर विजय का प्रतीक बन गई।
अपने अंतिम संदेश में राजनाथ सिंह ने सैनिकों को सलाम करते हुए कहा—“राष्ट्र की अजेय शक्ति आपके बलिदान, समर्पण और अदम्य साहस में है। हर भारतीय शांति से सोता है क्योंकि आप जागते रहते हैं। विजयदशमी हमें हमारे शाश्वत कर्तव्य की याद दिलाती है—सुरक्षा करना, न्याय के लिए लड़ना और सत्य की विजय सुनिश्चित करना।”
भुज की यह शाम केवल एक औपचारिक कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि भारत की सैन्य प्रतिबद्धता, सांस्कृतिक आत्मा और आत्मनिर्भर भविष्य के लिए एक सशक्त संदेश बन गई।
