भारतीय नौसेना के पश्चिमी कमान में एक महत्वपूर्ण नेतृत्व परिवर्तन हुआ है। रियर एडमिरल अजय पैत्नेय ने 26 नवंबर को नेवल डॉकयार्ड मुंबई के एडमिरल सुपरिंटेंडेंट के रूप में पदभार संभाला। उन्होंने रियर एडमिरल अंकुर शर्मा, एनएम से कमान ग्रहण की। यह बदलाव ऐसे समय में हुआ है जब भारतीय नौसेना अपनी समुद्री शक्ति, तकनीकी क्षमता और “आत्मनिर्भर भारत” दृष्टि के साथ तीव्र गति से आगे बढ़ रही है। ऐसे में देश के सबसे पुराने और रणनीतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण डॉकयार्ड में एक अनुभवी, तकनीकी रूप से सक्षम और रणनीतिक सोच रखने वाले अधिकारी का आगमन नौसेना की युद्धक क्षमता के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
