Terror of Goldy Brar’s Name in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu—Extortion Calls from ISI-linked WhatsApp Group Rock Chirawa

In a shocking development that has left the business community of Chirawa town in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district gripped with fear, a WhatsApp group allegedly operating in the name of wanted gangster Goldy Brar has demanded ₹50 lakh extortion money from a salesman working at a local electronics store.
This case, which is now under formal investigation by the Chirawa Police, involves disturbing elements of cross-border funding, ISI references, and multi-lingual international extortion racket, indicating a much larger and organised crime network at play.
The Modus Operandi: “You Are Under Arrest” WhatsApp Group
According to police and eyewitness reports, the incident began on the evening of June 2nd when the salesman received a WhatsApp notification that he had been added to a suspicious group named “You Are Under Arrest.” Immediately after being added, he received a WhatsApp group video call from unknown individuals.
During the call, the extortionists first confirmed the identity of the salesman by naming the electronics shop he worked at. Upon confirmation, they demanded a ransom of ₹50 lakh, claiming that the money was needed to “fund ISI operations in Pakistan where people are starving.”
The callers identified themselves as men working for Goldy Brar, the Canada-based gangster wanted by Indian authorities for multiple terror-related and extortion cases.
Grave International Angle: Multi-Language Chats, Indian Victims in Group
The salesman, fearing for his life and livelihood, immediately approached the local police and registered a complaint. He also revealed that the WhatsApp group was full of Indian phone numbers, many of which belonged to individuals from various parts of the country who had also reportedly received similar extortion demands.
What’s more concerning is the language diversity within the group—members were conversing in Hindi, English, Urdu, and Punjabi, indicating an international syndicate that could be using cyber extortion as a tool for cross-border terror funding.
Rising Pattern of Gangster-Terror Nexus via Social Media
This case is not isolated. Over the last year, there have been several instances across India where extortion threats were issued via encrypted platforms like WhatsApp, often in the name of gangsters like Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and Lakhbir Landa.
However, this case is unique due to its explicit reference to Pakistan’s ISI and the intent of terror financing, which now places it within the ambit of national security. The reference to “people starving in Pakistan” adds an element of psychological manipulation as well, masking criminal extortion under a humanitarian pretext.
Police Action & Cyber Surveillance Underway
The Chirawa Police have taken the matter seriously and launched a cybercrime investigation, tracing the origin of the WhatsApp group and calls. The Rajasthan Police’s cyber cell has also been roped in, and there are indications that central intelligence agencies may be notified due to the ISI connection.
Officials are now trying to verify whether the calls originated from Pakistan, and whether VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) masking techniques were used to conceal international origins.
Growing Threat to Small Towns and Businessmen
This incident is a grim reminder that even small-town businessmen are no longer safe from the expanding reach of international extortion rackets. With WhatsApp and encrypted messaging apps becoming primary tools for cybercrime, criminals can now target multiple victims simultaneously, hiding behind fake identities and foreign servers.
Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious calls or messages immediately, and not to engage or respond to such threats.

राजस्थान के झुंझुनूं जिले के चिड़ावा कस्बे से एक चौंकाने वाली खबर सामने आई है, जिसने स्थानीय व्यापारियों और आम नागरिकों में खौफ का माहौल पैदा कर दिया है। एक इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स दुकान में काम करने वाले सेल्समैन को कुख्यात गैंगस्टर गोल्डी बराड़ के नाम पर एक व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप कॉल के जरिए 50 लाख रुपए की फिरौती की मांग की गई है।
इस पूरे मामले में चिड़ावा पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर जांच शुरू कर दी है। मामला सिर्फ फिरौती तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि इसमें पाकिस्तान की खुफिया एजेंसी ISI को फंडिंग, अंतरराष्ट्रीय साइबर नेटवर्क, और मल्टी-लैंग्वेज ग्रुप चैट्स जैसी गंभीर बातें शामिल हैं।
‘यू आर अंडर अरेस्ट’ नामक व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप से शुरू हुआ डरावना खेल
जानकारी के अनुसार, घटना 2 जून की शाम को शुरू हुई जब इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स की दुकान में काम करने वाले सेल्समैन को एक व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप में “You Are Under Arrest” नाम से जोड़ दिया गया। ग्रुप में जोड़ने के तुरंत बाद उसे व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप कॉल आया, जिसमें मौजूद लोगों ने पहले उसकी दुकान का नाम लेकर पहचान की पुष्टि की।
इसके बाद उन्होंने कहा कि वे गोल्डी बराड़ के आदमी हैं और पाकिस्तान में लोग भूखे मर रहे हैं, इसलिए ISI को फंडिंग करनी है। इसके लिए उससे 50 लाख रुपए की मांग की गई।
ग्रुप में भारत के कई लोग, उर्दू, पंजाबी, हिंदी और अंग्रेज़ी में हो रही बातचीत
सेल्समैन ने बताया कि उस व्हाट्सऐप ग्रुप में भारत के अलग-अलग हिस्सों के कई नंबर जुड़े हुए हैं, जिनसे भी इसी तरह की फिरौती मांगी जा रही है। सबसे चौंकाने वाली बात यह है कि ग्रुप में बातचीत हिंदी, अंग्रेज़ी, उर्दू और पंजाबी भाषाओं में हो रही थी।
इससे यह अंदेशा और मजबूत होता है कि यह कोई अंतरराष्ट्रीय गिरोह है जो भारत ही नहीं, बल्कि अन्य देशों में भी लोगों को निशाना बना रहा है।
गैंगस्टर-आतंकी गठजोड़ का नया डिजिटल चेहरा
हाल के दिनों में भारत में ऐसे कई मामले सामने आए हैं जिनमें गैंगस्टरों ने सोशल मीडिया के जरिए व्यापारियों, डॉक्टर्स, और आम लोगों से फिरौती मांगी है। लेकिन चिड़ावा का यह मामला इसलिए गंभीर है क्योंकि इसमें सीधे तौर पर पाकिस्तान की ISI का नाम लिया गया है और कहा गया है कि फिरौती की रकम आतंकी गतिविधियों के लिए इस्तेमाल की जाएगी।
पुलिस और साइबर सेल की टीम जुटी जांच में
चिड़ावा थाने में FIR दर्ज होने के बाद राजस्थान पुलिस की साइबर सेल को भी अलर्ट किया गया है। पुलिस इस ग्रुप के IP एड्रेस, कॉल सोर्स, और ग्रुप एडमिन्स की जानकारी जुटा रही है। संभावना है कि जल्द ही केंद्रीय एजेंसियों को भी इस मामले में जोड़ा जाएगा।
क्या छोटे शहर अब सुरक्षित नहीं?
यह घटना एक बार फिर यह साबित करती है कि अब सिर्फ बड़े शहरों के व्यापारी नहीं, बल्कि छोटे शहरों के आम लोग भी अंतरराष्ट्रीय साइबर-गिरोहों के निशाने पर हैं। व्हाट्सऐप जैसे प्लेटफॉर्म्स की मदद से ऐसे गिरोह देश के किसी भी कोने में बैठे व्यक्ति को डरा सकते हैं।
पुलिस ने आम जनता से अपील की है कि यदि किसी को इस तरह की कॉल्स या ग्रुप्स में जोड़ा जाए, तो तुरंत स्थानीय पुलिस या साइबर हेल्पलाइन पर शिकायत करें।
