            The Special Judge of CBI cases, Rouse Avenue District Courts, New Delhi has sentenced Sh. Ramesh Kumar Aggarwal (Private Person) and Sh. Ashwani Sharma (Private Person) both to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine under relevant sections of IPC in one of the cases pertaining to Group Housing Societies.

            CBI had registered a case on 04.01.2006 against Sh. Ramesh Kumar Aggarwal (private person, resident of Ghaziabad, U.P); Sh. Ashwani Sharma (private person, resident of Mayur Vihar, Phase-II, Delhi) and others in pursuance of the orders dated 02.08.2005 of Delhi High Court in which the CBI was directed to conduct investigation of various Cooperative Group Housing Societies including Kamlani CGHS Ltd. having its registered office at Subhash Nagar, New Delhi.

            It was alleged that the accused entered into a conspiracy during the year 2000-2002 with an intention to cheat DDA & to ensure allotment of land to the society i.e. Kamlani CGHS Ltd by DDA on the basis of forged & false documents. Sh. Ramesh Kumar Aggarwal was representing the society in the office of RCS, Delhi for submission of the documents and was hand in glove with Sh. Ashwani Sharma, and tacitly allowed him to sign various documents in the office of RCS.

            After investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on 29.03.2007 against the accused.

            The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
