Jaguar Trainer Aircraft Crashes Near Churu, Rajasthan: Both IAF Pilots Martyred During Training Mission, Court of Inquiry Ordered
Ratangarh, Rajasthan | 9 July 2025 — In a heartbreaking incident, an Indian Air Force Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with a fatal accident during a routine training mission, crashing near Rajaldesar village in Ratangarh tehsil, Churu district of Rajasthan earlier today. The crash resulted in the death of both pilots onboard.
The Indian Air Force has now officially confirmed that Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant , succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident.
IAF Statement: Deep Regret and Solidarity with Families
In an official release, the IAF stated:
“An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan, today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported.
IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families in this time of grief.
A Court of Inquiry has been constituted to ascertain the cause of the accident.”
The heartfelt message reflects the IAF’s solidarity with the families of the officers and its commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency.
The Incident: Eyewitness Accounts and Aftermath
Locals in Bhanuuda and Bidawatan villages saw a fireball descending from the sky, followed by a loud explosion as the aircraft crashed near Charanan Mohalla on the Sikarali Road. The wreckage was found scattered over nearly 200 feet, with some human remains found among the debris.
Police and fire services quickly reached the spot and cordoned off the area. No damage to civilian property or life has been reported, as the crash occurred in an open grazing land.
Training Aircraft, But Real Risks
The Jaguar aircraft, although aging, continues to serve the IAF in select roles, especially for training and deep strike missions. The trainer variant is a twin-seater used to prepare pilots for combat readiness.
This accident highlights the inherent risks faced by air warriors even during peacetime training, and the loss of young officers in their prime is a stark reminder of the cost of readiness.
Investigation Underway
A Court of Inquiry has been immediately constituted to determine the exact cause of the crash. The inquiry will focus on technical issues, pilot response, flight data, and maintenance logs. Defence aviation experts are expected to reach the site for analysis.

रतनगढ़, चूरू | 9 जुलाई 2025 — भारतीय वायुसेना का एक जगुआर ट्रेनर फाइटर विमान आज सुबह एक रूटीन प्रशिक्षण मिशन के दौरान चूरू जिले के रतनगढ़ तहसील स्थित राजलदेसर गांव के पास दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया। इस हादसे में विमान में सवार दोनों पायलट शहीद हो गए।
भारतीय वायुसेना ने इस दुखद हादसे की पुष्टि करते हुए कहा कि स्क्वाड्रन लीडर और फ्लाइट लेफ्टिनेंट जो वीरगति को प्राप्त हुए।
IAF का आधिकारिक वक्तव्य:
“IAF का एक जगुआर ट्रेनर विमान आज राजस्थान के चूरू के पास रूटीन प्रशिक्षण मिशन के दौरान दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो गया। विमान में सवार दोनों पायलटों को गंभीर चोटें आईं, जिससे उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। किसी नागरिक संपत्ति को कोई नुकसान नहीं हुआ है।
IAF इस अपूरणीय क्षति पर गहरा शोक प्रकट करता है और शोक संतप्त परिवारों के साथ पूरी मजबूती से खड़ा है।
दुर्घटना के कारणों की जांच के लिए कोर्ट ऑफ इन्क्वायरी के आदेश दिए गए हैं।”
घटना का दृश्य और चश्मदीदों की गवाही
ग्रामीणों ने बताया कि उन्होंने आसमान से जलता हुआ विमान गिरते देखा, और इसके तुरंत बाद एक जोरदार धमाका हुआ। यह दुर्घटना चारणान मोहल्ला, सीकराली रोड के पास बीड़ भूमि पर हुई, जो कि चरागाह क्षेत्र है।
विमान के जले हुए टुकड़े और मानव अवशेष 200 फीट तक फैल गए थे। कोई भी नागरिक घायल नहीं हुआ है।
प्रशिक्षण में जोखिम भी शामिल होते हैं
यह विमान ट्रेनर संस्करण था, जिसमें दो पायलट होते हैं – प्रशिक्षक और प्रशिक्षु। यद्यपि यह विमान पुराने हैं, फिर भी प्रशिक्षण और स्ट्राइक मिशनों में उपयोग किए जाते हैं।
इस दुर्घटना से यह स्पष्ट होता है कि सेना के योद्धा सिर्फ युद्ध में ही नहीं, बल्कि हर अभ्यास में जान की बाज़ी लगाते हैं।
कोर्ट ऑफ इन्क्वायरी के आदेश
IAF ने दुर्घटना के कारणों की जांच के लिए कोर्ट ऑफ इन्क्वायरी का आदेश दे दिया है। विशेषज्ञ टीम जल्द ही घटनास्थल पर पहुंचकर ब्लैक बॉक्स, तकनीकी लॉग्स, और संवाद रिकॉर्ड की जांच करेगी।
राष्ट्र ने खोए दो रत्न, वायुसेना परिवार शोक में
स्क्वाड्रन लीडर और फ्लाइट लेफ्टिनेंट की वीरगति पर पूरे देश में शोक की लहर है। ये दोनों अधिकारी समर्पण और अनुशासन के प्रतीक थे। उनकी शहादत को राष्ट्र कभी नहीं भुला पाएगा।
