राष्ट्रीय राजधानी नई दिल्ली में आयोजित एक गरिमामय और भावनात्मक समारोह में भारतीय सेना ने अपने पूर्व सैनिकों के समर्पण और निरंतर सेवा की भावना को एक बार फिर सलाम किया। रिटायरिंग ऑफिसर्स सेमिनार 2025 के अवसर पर थल सेनाध्यक्ष जनरल उपेन्द्र द्विवेदी ने तीन प्रतिष्ठित वेटरन्स को ‘वेटरन अचीवर्स अवॉर्ड’ से सम्मानित किया। यह पुरस्कार उन पूर्व सैनिकों को दिया गया जिन्होंने सेना से सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद भी राष्ट्र के प्रति अपनी जिम्मेदारी को कर्म, सृजन और प्रेरणा के रूप में आगे बढ़ाया है।
सेमिनार में सेना के सेवा निवृत्त और वर्तमान अधिकारी, सैनिक परिवार और रक्षा प्रतिष्ठान के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी उपस्थित थे। जनरल द्विवेदी ने अपने संबोधन में कहा —
“देश सेवा वर्दी उतारने के बाद समाप्त नहीं होती; यह एक नए रूप में नेतृत्व, मार्गदर्शन और सामाजिक उत्तरदायित्व में बदल जाती है।”
उनके ये शब्द वहां उपस्थित हर अधिकारी, जवान और वेटरन के हृदय को छू गए। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय सेना अपने सैनिकों के योगदान को केवल युद्धभूमि तक सीमित नहीं मानती, बल्कि समाज में उनके पुनः योगदान को समान गर्व से देखती है।
‘युद्धभूमि’ से ‘समाजभूमि’ तक — लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल चंद्र शेखर पी. एस. (से.नि.) की प्रेरणादायक यात्रा
सम्मानित किए गए वेटरन्स में से एक, लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल चंद्र शेखर पी. एस. (से.नि.) ने अपने व्यक्तित्व और कार्यों से यह सिद्ध किया है कि सैनिक कभी रिटायर नहीं होता, वह बस अपना मोर्चा बदलता है। अनुशासन, विनम्रता और गहरी देशभक्ति से परिपूर्ण यह अधिकारी आज भारतीय युवा पीढ़ी के लिए प्रेरणा का स्रोत बन चुके हैं।
सेना से सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद उन्होंने अपने जीवन का लक्ष्य युवाओं के व्यक्तित्व विकास और सैन्य चयन प्रशिक्षण को बनाया। बेंगलुरु में स्थापित उनके प्रशिक्षण केंद्र में उन्होंने 60 से अधिक युवाओं को भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों में प्रवेश दिलाया है।
उनका प्रशिक्षण केवल एसएसबी (Service Selection Board) की तैयारी तक सीमित नहीं है — वे अपने विद्यार्थियों में आत्मविश्वास, साहस, नेतृत्व और राष्ट्रप्रेम जैसी भावनाओं का संचार करते हैं।
उनके सहयोगी और प्रशिक्षु उन्हें इस रूप में याद करते हैं कि —
“वे केवल एसएसबी की तैयारी नहीं करवाते, वे जीवन के लिए तैयार करते हैं।”

उनकी कविताओं और गीतों में सैनिक जीवन की भावनाएं प्रतिध्वनित होती हैं — सीमा पर तैनाती की पीड़ा, देश सेवा का गौरव, और शौर्य के पीछे छिपी संवेदनशीलता।
उनकी रचनाएं कई सैन्य मंचों और वेटरन समारोहों में प्रस्तुत की जा चुकी हैं और उन्हें सैनिकों और नागरिकों दोनों के बीच गहरा सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ है।

हर वर्ष आयोजित होने वाला रिटायरिंग ऑफिसर्स सेमिनार भारतीय सेना का एक महत्वपूर्ण आयोजन है जिसका उद्देश्य सेवानिवृत्त होने वाले अधिकारियों को नागरिक जीवन में संक्रमण के लिए तैयार करना है।
