42nd Edition of IND–INDO CORPAT between Indian and Indonesian Navy Concludes

Rear Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy, and his Indonesian counterpart, Vice Admiral I. K. Pakis, graced the occasion, reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two maritime forces.

In a testament to the enduring maritime cooperation between India and Indonesia, the 42nd edition of the Coordinated Patrol (IND–INDO CORPAT) between the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy drew to a successful close.

The joint patrol, which commenced on May 16th, concluded on May 25th, marking another milestone in the collaborative efforts to safeguard maritime security and promote peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

Throughout the duration of the patrol, naval assets from both countries diligently patrolled the designated waters, conducting coordinated surveillance and reconnaissance operations to deter illegal activities such as piracy, smuggling, and maritime terrorism.

The joint endeavor not only strengthened bilateral ties between India and Indonesia but also underscored their shared commitment to upholding the rules-based international order and ensuring the safety and security of vital sea lanes of communication.

As part of the post-deployment activities, two indigenously built naval vessels from the Indian Navy, INS Kulish and INS Chetlat, arrived at the port of Sabang for the debriefing session and the closing ceremony.

INS Kulish, a formidable Missile Corvette, and INS Chetlat, a Waterjet Fast Attack Craft, played pivotal roles during the patrol, showcasing the capabilities of India’s indigenous naval platforms and the professionalism of its sailors

The post-deployment debriefing provided an invaluable opportunity for naval personnel from both countries to share insights, lessons learned, and best practices gleaned from the joint patrol. It facilitated constructive dialogue and information exchange, enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy.

The closing ceremony, held with due solemnity and camaraderie, served as a fitting tribute to the dedication and commitment of the participating naval personnel.

Addressing the gathering, Rear Admiral Sanjay Vatsayan lauded the professionalism and camaraderie displayed by the naval personnel from both countries during the IND–INDO CORPAT.

He emphasized the importance of such joint patrols in fostering maritime security and cooperation in the strategically vital Indo-Pacific region.

Vice Admiral I. K. Pakis echoed Rear Admiral Vatsayan’s sentiments, expressing gratitude for the seamless coordination and collaboration between the Indian Navy and the Indonesian Navy throughout the patrol.

He reiterated Indonesia’s commitment to further enhancing maritime cooperation with India to address shared challenges and pursue common objectives in the maritime domain.

As the curtains drew on the 42nd edition of the IND–INDO CORPAT, both India and Indonesia reaffirmed their resolve to deepen bilateral naval cooperation and strengthen regional maritime security architecture.
