After ‘Operation Sindoor,’ Bikaner Witnesses a Patriotic Diwali — Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Celebrates the Festival of Lights with BSF Jawans, Promotes the ‘Vocal for Local’ Spirit
Bikaner, Rajasthan | October 20, 2025 —
This Diwali carried a profound sense of pride and emotion at the Bikaner Sector Headquarters of the Border Security Force (BSF), as Union Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal joined the brave jawans and their families to celebrate the festival of lights. It was the first Diwali after the historic “Operation Sindoor”, making the occasion even more meaningful for India’s sentinels of the desert frontier.
Under a canopy of glowing diyas, sparkling fireworks, and resonating patriotic songs, the BSF campus turned into a vibrant blend of devotion, discipline, and celebration. Meghwal, himself a son of the desert, shared sweets with the jawans, lit lamps alongside their families, and conveyed heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Diwali. The atmosphere echoed with a rare harmony — of festival spirit interwoven with the pride of service and sacrifice.
A Diwali Illuminated with Patriotism and Positivity
Addressing the jawans, Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal emphasized that Diwali is not merely a festival of lights, but a symbol of enlightenment, hope, and renewed energy. “Lighting a lamp is not just a ritual; it signifies the victory of knowledge over ignorance, positivity over negativity, and truth over falsehood,” he said.
He reminded everyone that the true spirit of Diwali lies in allowing light to enter one’s life — both literally and metaphorically. “When we choose to embrace light,” Meghwal remarked, “darkness fades away on its own. This is not just a message for individuals but for the nation as a whole — to always walk the path of progress, clarity, and unity.”
Praising the Bravehearts of ‘Operation Sindoor’
The Union Minister’s visit carried special emotional significance for the troops. Recalling their heroism during Operation Sindoor, he said, “Our BSF soldiers displayed extraordinary courage and determination during Operation Sindoor. Their bravery made the entire nation proud. These men and women, hailing from every corner of India, embody the spirit of unity and brotherhood that defines our armed forces.”
Meghwal added that celebrating a festival alongside such protectors was not just a ceremonial gesture but an act of heartfelt gratitude. “For me,” he said, “lighting a lamp with BSF personnel is not merely a ritual — it’s a moment of national pride. These jawans stand as our first line of defence, ensuring that every citizen can celebrate in peace and safety.”
‘Vocal for Local’ — A Message for Self-Reliance
Along with his words of inspiration, Arjun Ram Meghwal used the occasion to deliver a powerful message about self-reliance and community support. He urged citizens to embrace the ‘Vocal for Local’ spirit during festivals, emphasizing that every diya, lantern, and decorative item purchased from local artisans strengthens India’s economy.
“On Diwali, we must remember the hands that craft our traditions,” he said. “When we choose local products — handmade diyas, clay lamps, and artisanal goods — we not only support livelihoods but also light the way toward an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India).”
His appeal resonated deeply, especially in the backdrop of Operation Sindoor, which had already become a symbol of India’s indigenous strength and strategic capability.
The Spirit of Service and Sacrifice Shines Bright
BSF Commandant Naveen Mohan Sharma expressed his gratitude for the minister’s visit, calling it a morale-boosting gesture for the troops. “The presence of the Union Minister among our soldiers is a great honour,” Sharma said. “BSF has always stood firm on the borders to ensure that the people of India can celebrate their festivals in an atmosphere of peace and security. This Diwali symbolizes that very spirit — service above self.”
Adding to the emotion of the evening, a woman BSF jawan shared her thoughts: “This Diwali holds deep emotional significance for us. After Operation Sindoor, when the nation celebrates our courage, lighting lamps at the border fills us with pride. Having the minister among us makes it feel like we’re celebrating with family. It’s a moment we’ll cherish forever.”
The minister personally interacted with families, posed for photographs with soldiers and children, and offered prayers for their well-being. As the diyas glowed across the BSF premises, the night reflected not just illumination but the shared warmth of national unity.
A Celebration of Courage and Compassion
The event concluded with devotional songs, patriotic tunes, and heartfelt applause for the soldiers who protect India’s vast desert borders. The festive aura merged seamlessly with the disciplined life of the force — a powerful reminder that India’s security and spirituality often coexist on the same ground.
Local BJP leader Guman Singh Rajpurohit, BSF officers, and a large number of personnel and their families attended the celebration, turning it into a collective moment of gratitude and joy.
The evening ended with the same message that echoed through the glowing dunes of Bikaner — Diwali is not just about lighting lamps, but about spreading light within and beyond.

‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के बाद बीकानेर में देशभक्ति की रोशनी से सजी दीपावली — केंद्रीय मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने बीएसएफ जवानों संग मनाया पर्व, दिया ‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ का संदेश

थार के तपते रेत के बीच इस बार बीकानेर सेक्टर के सीमा सुरक्षा बल (BSF) परिसर में दीपावली का उत्सव देशभक्ति और गौरव के रंगों से सजा। यह दीपावली बेहद खास थी, क्योंकि यह ‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के बाद पहली दीपावली थी — वह ऐतिहासिक सैन्य अभियान जिसने भारत की सीमाओं पर पराक्रम, शौर्य और आत्मनिर्भरता की नई मिसाल कायम की। इस अवसर पर केंद्रीय कानून और संसदीय कार्य मंत्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने बीएसएफ के जवानों और उनके परिवारों के साथ दीपावली मनाई, दीप प्रज्ज्वलित किया और ‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ का प्रेरक संदेश दिया।
रोशनी से नहाए परिसर में देशभक्ति के गीतों, जयघोषों और दीपों की उजास से पूरा वातावरण भावनाओं और उत्साह से भर गया। मंत्री मेघवाल ने जवानों को मिठाई खिलाई, परिवारों के साथ बातचीत की और फुलझड़ियां जलाकर उत्सव की खुशी साझा की। हर ओर वीरता, अनुशासन और अपनत्व का अद्भुत संगम देखने को मिला।

अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि दीपावली केवल दीप जलाने का त्योहार नहीं, बल्कि यह आशा, सकारात्मकता और ज्ञान के प्रकाश का पर्व है। उन्होंने कहा, “दीप जलाना सिर्फ एक रिवाज नहीं है, यह प्रतीक है — अंधकार पर प्रकाश की विजय का, नकारात्मकता पर सकारात्मकता की जीत का, और अज्ञान पर ज्ञान के उदय का।”
उन्होंने कहा कि दीपावली का असली संदेश यह है कि हम अपने जीवन में उजाले को जगह दें, क्योंकि जब हम प्रकाश को स्वीकार करते हैं तो अंधकार अपने आप समाप्त हो जाता है। मंत्री ने कहा, “यह संदेश केवल व्यक्ति के लिए नहीं, बल्कि पूरे राष्ट्र के लिए है — कि भारत हमेशा प्रगति, स्पष्टता और एकता के उजाले की ओर बढ़े।”
‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के वीरों को दी श्रद्धांजलि
केंद्रीय मंत्री ने कहा कि यह दीपावली बीएसएफ जवानों के शौर्य को समर्पित है, जिन्होंने हाल ही में हुए ‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ में अभूतपूर्व पराक्रम दिखाया। उन्होंने कहा, “ऑपरेशन सिंदूर ने भारत की सीमाओं पर नई रणनीतिक क्षमता और वीरता का परिचय दिया है। हमारे जवानों ने साहस, अनुशासन और मातृभूमि के प्रति अदम्य निष्ठा से देश का सिर ऊंचा किया है।”
उन्होंने आगे कहा, “देश के अलग-अलग हिस्सों से आने वाले ये वीर जवान एकता, भाईचारे और अखंडता का संदेश देते हैं। इनके साथ दीपावली मनाना मेरे लिए केवल एक औपचारिक कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि गौरव और कृतज्ञता का क्षण है।”
‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ से जुड़ा दीपावली का संदेश
अर्जुन राम मेघवाल ने इस अवसर पर नागरिकों से ‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ अभियान को जीवन का हिस्सा बनाने की अपील की। उन्होंने कहा, “दीपावली जैसे त्योहारों पर हमें मिट्टी के दीपक बनाने वाले स्थानीय कारीगरों और हस्तशिल्पियों को प्रोत्साहित करना चाहिए। जब हम स्वदेशी उत्पाद खरीदते हैं, तो हम न केवल उनकी आजीविका को मजबूत करते हैं बल्कि आत्मनिर्भर भारत की दिशा में भी कदम बढ़ाते हैं।”
उन्होंने कहा कि “हमारे देश की संस्कृति में हर दीप मिट्टी से बनता है — और हर मिट्टी भारत की पहचान है। जब हम स्वदेशी वस्तुएं खरीदते हैं, तो हम अपनी जड़ों से जुड़ते हैं और आत्मनिर्भर भारत के संकल्प को मजबूत करते हैं।”
बीएसएफ जवानों ने साझा की अपनी भावनाएं
बीएसएफ कमांडेंट नवीन मोहन शर्मा ने मंत्री के आगमन को गौरव का क्षण बताया। उन्होंने कहा, “केंद्रीय मंत्री का जवानों के बीच आना हमारे लिए प्रेरणा है। बीएसएफ हमेशा सीमाओं पर सतर्क रहती है ताकि देशवासी अपने त्योहार शांति और सुरक्षा के माहौल में मना सकें। यह दीपावली हमारे लिए सेवा और समर्पण का प्रतीक है।”
वहीं एक महिला बीएसएफ जवान ने कहा, “ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद यह दीपावली हमारे लिए भावनात्मक है। जब पूरा देश हमारे साहस की चर्चा कर रहा है, तब सरहद पर दीप जलाना गर्व का क्षण है। मंत्री जी और अधिकारियों के साथ दीपावली मनाना हमें परिवार जैसा अनुभव देता है।”
मंत्री मेघवाल ने जवानों के बच्चों और परिवारों से मुलाकात की, मिठाई बांटी और उनकी कुशलता की कामना की। पूरे परिसर में दीपों की श्रृंखलाएं केवल सजावट नहीं, बल्कि देशभक्ति और सौहार्द्र की एक जीवंत झलक बन गईं।
वीरता, सेवा और संस्कार का संगम बनी यह दीपावली
कार्यक्रम के अंत में बीएसएफ जवानों द्वारा देशभक्ति गीत प्रस्तुत किए गए। वातावरण में एक साथ अनुशासन और उल्लास की भावना तैर उठी। इस मौके पर भाजपा नेता गुमान सिंह राजपुरोहित, बीएसएफ अधिकारी, जवान और उनके परिवार बड़ी संख्या में उपस्थित रहे।
रात का समापन उस संदेश के साथ हुआ जो बीकानेर की हवाओं में गूंज उठा —
“दीपावली केवल दीप जलाने का नहीं, बल्कि अपने भीतर प्रकाश फैलाने का अवसर है।”
