In a significant interaction between the Indian Army and the academic community, Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command, attended the Convocation Ceremony of Poornima University, Jaipur, as the Chief Guest on 20 December 2025. His presence at the prestigious academic event underscored the Indian Army’s continued engagement with educational institutions and its commitment to inspiring the nation’s youth. Upon his arrival at the university campus, the Army Commander was accorded a warm and respectful welcome by the Chairperson and senior functionaries of Poornima University, reflecting the high regard in which the Armed Forces are held within civil society.
Traditional Inauguration Reflects the Spirit of Knowledge and Learning
The convocation ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, a timeless symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and the eternal quest for learning. Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh joined the university leadership in lighting the lamp, formally inaugurating the ceremony and setting a solemn yet inspiring tone for the occasion. The act symbolised the convergence of discipline, education, and values, reinforcing the shared commitment of both the Armed Forces and academia towards shaping responsible and enlightened citizens.

Delivering his convocation address, the Army Commander laid strong emphasis on the decisive role of youth in nation building. Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh elaborated on the Indian Army’s deeply ingrained ethos of character building, highlighting values such as discipline, dedication, leadership, teamwork, and the abiding principle of ‘Service Before Self’. He described these values as timeless and universally relevant, shaping not only professional excellence but also personal integrity and moral strength. Drawing from the Army’s experience, he conveyed that true leadership is rooted in ethical conduct, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to duty, qualities that are equally essential in civilian life and professional careers.

The Army Commander urged the graduating students to uphold the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and ethical behaviour in their chosen fields. He encouraged them to use their education as a powerful tool to address societal challenges, contribute to innovation, and strengthen the nation’s democratic and institutional foundations. Stressing that success must be guided by values, he reminded students that individual achievements gain true meaning only when they contribute positively to society and the nation.

Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh lauded Poornima University for its role in imparting quality education and fostering a culture of innovation and critical thinking. Acknowledging the rapidly changing global environment, he noted that institutions like Poornima University play a crucial role in preparing young minds to meet emerging technological, economic, and security-related challenges.

Highlighting the importance of civil–military synergy, the Army Commander underscored that meaningful engagement with academic institutions strengthens the bond between the Indian Army and civil academia. He stated that such interactions enhance awareness about national security, strategic challenges, and the role of the Armed Forces in safeguarding the nation. According to him, universities serve as vital platforms for dialogue, understanding, and collaboration, helping bridge the gap between military institutions and civilian society.
Inspiring Youth to Consider Careers in the Armed Forces
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh also emphasised that enduring partnerships between the Armed Forces and universities can inspire young people to consider careers in the Indian Army and other defence services. पूर्णिमा विश्वविद्यालय, जयपुर में आर्मी कमांडर की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति
भारतीय सेना और शैक्षणिक जगत के बीच सशक्त संवाद को और मजबूत करते हुए लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनजिंदर सिंह, आर्मी कमांडर, सप्त शक्ति कमांड ने 20 दिसंबर 2025 को पूर्णिमा विश्वविद्यालय, जयपुर के दीक्षांत समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शिरकत की। विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में उनके आगमन पर अध्यक्ष तथा वरिष्ठ पदाधिकारियों ने उनका आत्मीय स्वागत और सम्मान किया। इस अवसर पर सेना और शिक्षा संस्थानों के बीच सहयोग और परस्पर सम्मान की भावना स्पष्ट रूप से देखने को मिली।

भारतीय सेना के चरित्र निर्माण मूल्यों का उल्लेख
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनजिंदर सिंह ने भारतीय सेना की चरित्र निर्माण पर आधारित परंपराओं और मूल्यों पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने अनुशासन, समर्पण, नेतृत्व क्षमता, टीमवर्क और ‘सेवा परमो धर्म’ जैसे सिद्धांतों को सेना की आत्मा बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि ये मूल्य न केवल सैनिक जीवन में बल्कि किसी भी पेशे और सामाजिक जीवन में व्यक्ति को उत्कृष्टता और नैतिक मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं। उन्होंने छात्रों को इन मूल्यों को अपने जीवन में आत्मसात करने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
स्नातक छात्रों को ईमानदारी और नैतिकता का संदेश
आर्मी कमांडर ने स्नातक छात्रों से अपील की कि वे अपने-अपने क्षेत्रों में कार्य करते हुए ईमानदारी, जिम्मेदारी और नैतिक आचरण के उच्चतम मानकों का पालन करें। उन्होंने कहा कि वास्तविक सफलता वही है, जो समाज और देश के लिए सकारात्मक योगदान के साथ जुड़ी हो। उन्होंने युवाओं को चुनौतीपूर्ण परिस्थितियों में भी मूल्यों से समझौता न करने का संदेश दिया।
पूर्णिमा विश्वविद्यालय की शैक्षणिक और नवाचार भूमिका की सराहना

सिविल–मिलिट्री सहयोग के महत्व को रेखांकित करते हुए आर्मी कमांडर ने कहा कि अकादमिक संस्थानों के साथ इस प्रकार की सहभागिता भारतीय सेना और नागरिक समाज के बीच सेतु का कार्य करती है। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे न केवल राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ती है, बल्कि युवाओं में देशभक्ति और जिम्मेदारी की भावना भी सुदृढ़ होती है। ऐसे मंच सेना और समाज के बीच आपसी समझ को गहरा करते हैं।
युवाओं को सशस्त्र बलों में करियर के लिए प्रेरणा
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनजिंदर सिंह ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालयों और सशस्त्र बलों के बीच स्थायी साझेदारी युवाओं को सेना में करियर पर विचार करने के लिए प्रेरित कर सकती है। उन्होंने कहा कि सेना युवाओं को नेतृत्व, अनुशासन और राष्ट्र सेवा का ऐसा अवसर प्रदान करती है, जो जीवन को सार्थक दिशा देता है।
सप्त शक्ति कमांड की व्यापक राष्ट्रीय दृष्टिकोण के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता
