Bikaner: BSF Intelligence Branch & Police Joint Operation Foils Cross-Border Heroin Smuggling, 2.5 Kg Seized Worth Over ₹12 Crore

In a major blow to cross-border narco-terror networks, the Border Security Force (BSF) Intelligence Branch of Bikaner, acting on precise intelligence, conducted a joint operation with the Rajasthan Police in the border belt near Khajuwala–Rawla sector. The raid, carried out in village 1-KYD, led to the seizure of 2.5 kg heroin packed in five packets worth more than ₹12 crore in the international market. One accused smuggler, Sukhwant Singh, has been arrested.
The high-level operation was executed under the command of BSF DIG Ajay Luthra, Sector Headquarters Bikaner, and led on-ground by Deputy Commandant Mahesh Chand Jat of the Intelligence Branch Bikaner, along with senior officers including Shri M.L. Garg (IG, Rajasthan Frontier), Shri Rajkumar Yadav (Acting DIG, Intelligence Branch Jodhpur) and Shri Prabhakar Singh (Commandant, 140 Bn).
Swift Action Based on Credible Intelligence
Deputy Commandant Mahesh Chand Jat had received credible intelligence inputs that a consignment of heroin was being pushed across the India-Pakistan international border into Indian territory. Acting swiftly, the joint BSF–Police team raided the house of the suspect, Sukhwant Singh, in 1-KYD village, where a hidden cache of heroin packets was recovered.
Huge Blow to Pakistan-Backed Smuggling Networks
The seizure of narcotics worth over ₹12 crore not only prevented the immediate smuggling attempt but also dealt a heavy blow to Pakistan-backed narco-terror syndicates operating along the sensitive Rajasthan border.
Vigilance and Public Engagement
The BSF Intelligence Branch in Bikaner, under the leadership of Mahesh Chand Jat, has consistently foiled attempts to infiltrate drugs into Indian territory. Apart from raids, BSF officers have carried out awareness campaigns in border villages, educating youth about the dangers of drug addiction and preventing them from falling into the trap of smuggling networks.
Inspector General officers also praised the contribution of Inspector Kamlesh Kumar, whose inputs and support were crucial in the success of the operation.
A senior officer said, “Every packet seized is not just heroin stopped—it means saving hundreds of lives from the menace of drugs. BSF and Police remain committed to keeping Rajasthan’s border belt drug-free.”
This successful joint action reaffirms India’s strong stance against narco-terrorism and demonstrates that Pakistan-sponsored smuggling syndicates will find no safe haven along the Indo-Pak border in Bikaner.

भारत-पाक अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा पर नशे की तस्करी के खिलाफ बड़ी सफलता हासिल करते हुए, बीएसएफ बीकानेर की इंटेलिजेंस ब्रांच ने राजस्थान पुलिस के साथ संयुक्त अभियान में 2.5 किलो हेरोइन के 5 पैकेट जब्त किए, जिनकी अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कीमत 12 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक आंकी गई है। इस कार्रवाई में तस्कर सुखवंत सिंह को गिरफ्तार किया गया।
यह अभियान बीएसएफ डीआईजी अजय लूथरा, सेक्टर मुख्यालय बीकानेर के निर्देशन में और उप कमांडेंट महेश चंद्र जाट, इंटेलिजेंस ब्रांच बीकानेर के नेतृत्व में संचालित हुआ। इसमें वरिष्ठ अधिकारी श्री एम.एल. गर्ग (महानिरीक्षक, राजस्थान फ्रंटियर), श्री राजकुमार यादव (कार्यवाहक डीआईजी, इंटेलिजेंस ब्रांच जोधपुर) और श्री प्रभाकर सिंह (कमांडेंट, 140वीं बटालियन) भी शामिल रहे।
खुफिया सूचना से मिली बड़ी सफलता
बीएसएफ उप कमांडेंट महेश चंद्र जाट को पुख्ता जानकारी मिली थी कि पाकिस्तान से भारतीय क्षेत्र में हेरोइन की खेप धकेली जाने वाली है। सूचना की पुष्टि के बाद संयुक्त टीम ने सीमावर्ती खाजूवाला-रावला सेक्टर के ग्राम 1-केवाईडी में स्थित तस्कर सुखवंत सिंह के घर पर छापा मारा, जहां से छिपाकर रखे गए 5 पैकेट हेरोइन बरामद किए गए।
पाकिस्तान समर्थित नेटवर्क पर करारा प्रहार
बरामदगी की कीमत 12 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक आंकी गई है। यह केवल एक खेप को रोकना नहीं, बल्कि सीमा पार से सक्रिय पाक-समर्थित तस्करी नेटवर्क को भी करारा झटका है।
सीमा पर चौकसी और जन-जागरूकता
बीएसएफ इंटेलिजेंस ब्रांच, बीकानेर लगातार सीमा क्षेत्र में तस्करी रोकने और युवाओं को नशे से बचाने के लिए सतर्कता से कार्य कर रही है। महेश चंद्र जाट के नेतृत्व में ग्रामीणों और युवाओं को जागरूक करने के अभियान भी चलाए गए हैं।
इस ऑपरेशन में निरीक्षक कमलेश कुमार का भी अहम योगदान रहा, जिन्होंने खुफिया जानकारी एकत्रित करने और कार्रवाई को सफल बनाने में बड़ी भूमिका निभाई।
अधिकारियों ने कहा, “हर पैकेट की बरामदगी केवल एक जब्ती नहीं है, बल्कि सैकड़ों जिंदगियां बचाने का प्रयास है। बीएसएफ और पुलिस का लक्ष्य है कि बीकानेर बॉर्डर बेल्ट को पूरी तरह नशा मुक्त बनाया जाए।”
यह सफलता एक बार फिर साबित करती है कि भारतीय सुरक्षा बल किसी भी कीमत पर नार्को-टेररिज्म को सफल नहीं होने देंगे और राजस्थान की अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमा को पूरी तरह सुरक्षित रखेंगे।
