However, his aspirations ended tragically when he returned home not alive, but in a coffin. His mortal remains reached Bikaner a few days ago, plunging his family, village, and the wider region into mourning. The shock has been profound, as a young man who left India dreaming of higher education was allegedly drawn into a war zone under false pretences.
Allegations of Deception and Forced Military Involvement
According to the family and local sources, Ajay Godara was reportedly lured with the promise of a cooking-related job while staying in Russia. Instead of civilian employment, he was allegedly handed a rifle and placed in military uniform, effectively pushing him into an active conflict scenario amid the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war. This alleged deception has raised serious concerns about exploitation of foreign nationals, especially students, during wartime. The circumstances surrounding his death have left unanswered questions and intensified calls for accountability and stronger diplomatic intervention.
A Village in Mourning, Dreams Turned into Grief
The return of Ajay Godara’s body has cast a shadow of grief over Arjansar village, where residents are struggling to come to terms with the loss. Villagers recall that Ajay had left India with dreams of education and a stable future, aspirations shared by countless families in rural Rajasthan. Instead, his journey ended in tragedy, leaving behind devastated parents and relatives. The sense of loss is not limited to the family alone; the entire village has been mourning what many describe as a collective heartbreak.
Congress Leaders Step In, Letter Written to External Affairs Ministry
In response to the incident, senior leaders of the Congress party in Bikaner have formally approached the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), demanding urgent assistance for the bereaved family. Former Congress candidate from Lunkaransar Dr. Rajendra Mund and Mahipal Saraswat, General Secretary of Rural Congress, have jointly written a letter to the MEA. In the letter, they expressed anguish that despite repeated appeals made earlier to bring Ajay back safely, the efforts failed and he ultimately returned only after his death.
Demand for ₹5 Crore Compensation and Government Job
The Congress leaders have strongly urged the government to provide ₹5 crore as financial compensation to Ajay Godara’s family and also ensure a government job for one family member. They have demanded that such relief be announced at the earliest, stating that no amount of money can compensate for the loss of a young life, but meaningful support is essential for the family’s future survival and dignity. The letter emphasizes that Ajay’s death was not a natural tragedy but the result of extraordinary and dangerous circumstances abroad.
Alleged Administrative Silence Draws Sharp Criticism
In their communication to the MEA, the Congress leaders also expressed serious concern over the alleged silence of both central and state governments. They pointed out that neither senior ministers nor elected representatives issued timely responses or visible intervention while Ajay was still alive. This lack of reaction, they argue, has added to the pain of the family and raised doubts over the responsiveness of authorities in protecting Indian citizens stranded in conflict zones.
Disturbing Video Message and Family’s Repeated Appeals
One of the most heart-wrenching aspects of the case is a video message sent by Ajay Godara to his family in September, in which he reportedly pleaded for immediate help. In the video, Ajay warned his relatives that if he was not rescued in time, it could be his last message. Following this, his family repeatedly approached state ministers and Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, seeking intervention for his safe return. Despite these efforts, Ajay was not brought back, and the family’s worst fears eventually came true.
Political Pressure Mounts on Centre for Diplomatic Accountability
With the Congress leaders now formally appealing to the Ministry of External Affairs, political pressure is mounting on the central government to respond decisively. The case has highlighted broader concerns regarding the safety of Indian students and workers abroad, especially in countries affected by armed conflict. Opposition leaders argue that the tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for stronger diplomatic mechanisms, faster evacuation protocols, and stricter monitoring of recruitment and employment practices involving Indian nationals overseas.

राजस्थान के बीकानेर ज़िले के लूणकरणसर क्षेत्र से जुड़ी एक दर्दनाक घटना ने पूरे इलाके को झकझोर कर रख दिया है। अरजनसर गांव निवासी अजय गोदारा, जो रूस में स्टडी वीज़ा पर पढ़ाई के उद्देश्य से गया था, उसकी मौत के बाद उसका शव हाल ही में बीकानेर पहुंचा। जिस युवक को परिवार और गांव वालों ने ऊंचे सपनों और बेहतर भविष्य की उम्मीदों के साथ विदेश भेजा था, वह ताबूत में बंद होकर लौटा। इस घटना ने न केवल परिवार, बल्कि पूरे गांव और क्षेत्र को गहरे शोक में डुबो दिया है।
कुकिंग की नौकरी का झांसा, हाथ में थमा दी गई राइफल
परिजनों और स्थानीय सूत्रों के अनुसार, अजय गोदारा को रूस में कथित तौर पर कुकिंग से जुड़ी नौकरी का लालच दिया गया था। लेकिन वहां पहुंचने के बाद परिस्थितियां पूरी तरह बदल गईं। आरोप है कि यूक्रेन–रूस युद्ध के बीच उसे सेना की वर्दी पहनाकर राइफल थमा दी गई और सैन्य गतिविधियों में झोंक दिया गया। यह आरोप बेहद गंभीर हैं और यह सवाल खड़ा करते हैं कि आखिर एक स्टडी वीज़ा पर गए भारतीय युवक को युद्ध क्षेत्र में कैसे धकेल दिया गया।
अरजनसर गांव में मातम, हर आंख नम
अजय गोदारा का शव जब अरजनसर गांव पहुंचा, तो पूरा गांव शोक में डूब गया। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि अजय पढ़ा-लिखा, मेहनती और सपने देखने वाला युवक था, जो परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति सुधारने और खुद का भविष्य संवारने के लिए विदेश गया था। उसकी असमय मौत ने गांव के हर परिवार को भीतर तक झकझोर दिया है। गांव में आज भी मातम का माहौल है और लोग इस त्रासदी को सामूहिक पीड़ा के रूप में देख रहे हैं।
कांग्रेस नेताओं का हस्तक्षेप, विदेश मंत्रालय को लिखा पत्र
इस गंभीर मामले को लेकर अब कांग्रेस पार्टी के नेताओं ने केंद्र सरकार से औपचारिक रूप से हस्तक्षेप की मांग की है। लूणकरणसर से कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी रह चुके डॉ. राजेन्द्र मूंड और देहात कांग्रेस के महासचिव महीपाल सारस्वत ने विदेश मंत्रालय को एक पत्र लिखकर पीड़ित परिवार को तत्काल सहायता प्रदान करने की गुजारिश की है। पत्र में उन्होंने इस बात पर गहरी नाराज़गी जताई है कि अजय को जीवित अवस्था में वापस लाने के लिए कई बार अपील की गई, लेकिन वह सफल नहीं हो सकी।
₹5 करोड़ मुआवज़ा और सरकारी नौकरी की मांग
कांग्रेस नेताओं ने अपने पत्र में स्पष्ट मांग की है कि अजय गोदारा के परिवार को सरकार की ओर से ₹5 करोड़ का मुआवज़ा दिया जाए और परिवार के एक सदस्य को सरकारी नौकरी प्रदान की जाए। उन्होंने कहा कि यह केवल आर्थिक सहायता का सवाल नहीं है, बल्कि उस परिवार के भविष्य और सम्मान से जुड़ा विषय है, जिसने अपना बेटा बेहद असाधारण परिस्थितियों में खो दिया।
केंद्र और राज्य सरकार की चुप्पी पर सवाल
पत्र में कांग्रेस नेताओं ने यह भी उल्लेख किया है कि इस पूरे घटनाक्रम के दौरान केंद्र और राज्य सरकार के किसी भी मंत्री की ओर से कोई ठोस प्रतिक्रिया सामने नहीं आई। उनका कहना है कि जब एक भारतीय युवक युद्ध क्षेत्र में फंसा हुआ था और लगातार मदद की गुहार लगा रहा था, तब सरकारी स्तर पर संवेदनशीलता और तत्परता का अभाव बेहद दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है।
अंतिम चेतावनी वाला वीडियो और परिवार की बेबसी
इस मामले का सबसे मार्मिक पहलू वह वीडियो संदेश है, जो अजय गोदारा ने सितंबर माह में अपने परिजनों को भेजा था। वीडियो में अजय ने साफ शब्दों में कहा था कि अगर उसे समय रहते वहां से नहीं निकाला गया, तो यह उसका अंतिम वीडियो भी हो सकता है। इसके बाद परिजन लगातार प्रदेश सरकार के मंत्रियों और केंद्रीय कानून मंत्री अर्जुनराम मेघवाल के पास फरियाद लेकर पहुंचे, लेकिन अजय को वापस नहीं लाया जा सका। अंततः वही हुआ, जिसका डर परिवार को पहले से था।
विदेशों में फंसे भारतीयों की सुरक्षा पर उठे बड़े सवाल
अजय गोदारा की मौत ने विदेशों में पढ़ाई या काम के लिए गए भारतीय युवाओं की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं। विशेष रूप से युद्धग्रस्त देशों में फंसे भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए त्वरित और प्रभावी कूटनीतिक हस्तक्षेप की आवश्यकता को यह घटना उजागर करती है। विपक्षी नेताओं का कहना है कि यह मामला एक चेतावनी है, जिसे नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता।
पीड़ित परिवार के लिए न्याय और भविष्य की लड़ाई
