BSF DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary Visits Bikaner: Post-Operation Sindoor Tour Marks Strategic Review of Border Security, Artillery Drills, and Drone Threats

The Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chaudhary, arrived in Bikaner on Thursday in what is being seen as a strategically crucial tour following the successful culmination of Operation Sindoor. His visit is aimed at assessing the preparedness of India’s western frontier, reviewing counter-drone measures, and overseeing artillery gun drills at the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges.

On arrival at Bikaner Airport, DG Chaudhary was received with full protocol by BSF IG BSF M.L GARG,Bikaner Range IG Hemant Sharma, DIG Ajay Luthra, SP Bikaner Kavendra Sagar, DCG Mahesh Jat, and other senior BSF officers, underlining the significance attached to his presence in the border sector.

Mahajan Firing Range: Testing India’s Artillery Edge

One of the highlights of DG Chaudhary’s itinerary will be his visit to the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, a premier desert warfare training ground where the Army and BSF conduct integrated live-fire drills. Sources indicate that the DG will oversee artillery gun exercises and simulation-based training modules that have gained renewed importance after Operation Sindoor demonstrated India’s capacity for rapid, coordinated strikes in the western theatre.

The firing range, spread across the arid expanse of Bikaner and Jaisalmer, has been central to testing long-range artillery, surveillance systems, and counter-drone integration technologies. With Pakistan increasing its deployment near forward posts across the border, the Indian side is sharpening its readiness to counter conventional as well as asymmetric threats.

Review of Border Posts and Security Arrangements

In addition to the firing range visit, the BSF chief will conduct a ground review of international border outposts (BOPs) in Bikaner sector. The focus will remain on evaluating night surveillance systems, fencing integrity, smart border technology deployment, and troop morale.

Sources confirm that the DG will interact directly with field commanders and jawans, obtaining first-hand inputs on operational challenges, infiltration attempts, and the recent rise in drone-based smuggling and reconnaissance from across the border.

Countering Drone Threats from Pakistan

A major agenda point during the visit is the growing threat of Pakistan-origin drones entering Indian airspace, often carrying narcotics, weapons, or surveillance payloads. The BSF, in coordination with Indian defence research agencies, has been inducting anti-drone radars, jammers, and kinetic response systems. DG Chaudhary is expected to hold closed-door strategy discussions with senior officers on deploying additional resources, including AI-based detection systems and laser-based neutralisation technologies, in Rajasthan’s desert border zones.

The timing of the DG’s visit cannot be overstated. Operation Sindoor, executed jointly by the Army, BSF, and IAF in the western theatre, marked a decisive assertion of India’s offensive and defensive capabilities. Military observers note that the Bikaner-Jaisalmer sector, due to its proximity to sensitive Pakistani posts and its role as a gateway to western Rajasthan, is critical in India’s border defence strategy. Coordination With Civil Administration

The tour also witnessed close coordination between BSF and the civil administration. With SP Kavendra Sagar and district officials present, discussions are expected to include civil-military synergy during emergencies, intelligence-sharing, and community involvement in border-area security protocols.

The visit will conclude with DG Chaudhary addressing senior officers, underlining BSF’s evolving role in an era where traditional border patrol duties are increasingly intertwined with high-tech surveillance, drone warfare, and hybrid threats.

सीमा सुरक्षा बल (BSF) के महानिदेशक दलजीत सिंह चौधरी गुरुवार को बीकानेर पहुंचे। ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद उनका यह दौरा कई मायनों से रणनीतिक रूप से बेहद अहम माना जा रहा है। इस दौरान वे महाजन फील्ड फायरिंग रेंज में आर्टीगन अभ्यास देखेंगे, भारत-पाकिस्तान अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सीमा चौकियों का जायजा लेंगे और पाकिस्तानी ड्रोन खतरों से निपटने पर वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ मंथन करेंगे।

बीकानेर एयरपोर्ट पर उनका स्वागत, बी एस एफ आई जी एम एल गर्ग,बीकानेर रेंज IG हेमंत शर्मा, DIG अजय लूथरा, बीकानेर पुलिस अधीक्षक कावेंद्र सागर, DCG महेश जाट सहित अन्य बीएसएफ अधिकारियों ने किया। इस उच्च स्तरीय मौजूदगी ने साफ कर दिया कि इस दौरे को कितना अहम माना जा रहा है।

महाजन रेंज: रेगिस्तान में भारत की मारक क्षमता

डीजी चौधरी का मुख्य पड़ाव महाजन फील्ड फायरिंग रेंज होगा। यहां वे लाइव आर्टिलरी फायरिंग और युद्धाभ्यास का निरीक्षण करेंगे। यह वही रेंज है जहां भारतीय सेना और BSF रेगिस्तानी युद्धकला में तालमेल बैठाते हैं। ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद यहां पर चल रहे अभ्यास का महत्व और बढ़ गया है।

इस रेंज में लंबी दूरी की तोपें, निगरानी उपकरण और एंटी-ड्रोन तकनीक का परीक्षण किया जा रहा है। पाकिस्तान द्वारा सीमा चौकियों पर बढ़ती सक्रियता के बीच भारत अपनी मारक क्षमता को और निखारने पर जोर दे रहा है।

सीमा चौकियों का दौरा

महाजन रेंज के बाद BSF डीजी सीमा चौकियों का दौरा करेंगे। इस दौरान वे रात्रि निगरानी, स्मार्ट फेंसिंग तकनीक, जवानों का मनोबल और सीमा पार से घुसपैठ व ड्रोन गतिविधियों की समीक्षा करेंगे।

पाकिस्तान से बढ़ते ड्रोन खतरे पर चर्चा

हाल के दिनों में पाकिस्तान की तरफ से आने वाले ड्रोन खतरों ने सुरक्षा एजेंसियों की चिंता बढ़ा दी है। ये ड्रोन नशीले पदार्थ, हथियार और जासूसी उपकरण लेकर भारतीय सीमा में घुसपैठ की कोशिश करते हैं। BSF ने एंटी-ड्रोन राडार, जैमर और लेजर आधारित सिस्टम को तैनात करना शुरू कर दिया है। चौधरी इस दौरे के दौरान अधिकारियों के साथ AI-आधारित डिटेक्शन और लेजर न्यूट्रलाइजेशन तकनीक के इस्तेमाल पर रणनीति बनाएंगे।

ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के बाद का संदेश

ऑपरेशन सिंदूर ने यह साबित कर दिया कि भारत पश्चिमी मोर्चे पर किसी भी चुनौती का सामना करने के लिए तैयार है। बीएसएफ डीजी का यह दौरा इसी संदेश को और मजबूत करता है कि सीमा की हर इंच पर निगरानी और सतर्कता बनी रहेगी।

सिविल प्रशासन के साथ तालमेल

इस दौरे में बीएसएफ और स्थानीय प्रशासन के बीच भी गहन तालमेल दिखा। बीकानेर पुलिस अधीक्षक कावेंद्र सागर और जिला प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों की मौजूदगी से साफ है कि इंटेलिजेंस शेयरिंग, आपातकालीन तालमेल और बॉर्डर सुरक्षा में स्थानीय समुदाय की भूमिका पर भी चर्चा होगी।

दौरे के अंत में डीजी चौधरी वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को संबोधित करेंगे और इस बात पर जोर देंगे कि आज की दुनिया में सीमा सुरक्षा का अर्थ सिर्फ गश्त तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि यह हाई-टेक सर्विलांस, ड्रोन वॉरफेयर और हाइब्रिड खतरों से भी सीधा जुड़ा हुआ है।
