In words of Guest of honour and established poet, Pankhuri Sinha-

“An amazing evening of gorgeous poems, celebrating friendship! It truly was my pleasure and honour to be a part of the friendship day poetic meet, and that too as a guest of honour! I think the poems explored all possible aspects of friendship through beautiful angles! All the beautiful things we made out of and the comparisons we drew were interesting and enchanting! Lantern called it a panoramic view or something more elegant, Jayshree Ray called it an unknown perfume, many poets called it by many beautiful names, Richard Temple said its existential and necessary, and Sreelatha said the soldiers felt like true friends! Taking the concept a little further, I suggested and repeated that friendship day can be used to celebrate good will on international borders! Besides, promoting secular, liberal lifestyle! Janatha ‘s poem initiated that most interesting topic of friendship between relationships! I would like to share something personal here, that just a few days ago, was having a somewhat heated discussion with a friend on the topic of friendship in marriage, which is different from marrying a friend! According to me, spouses should be friends first, not in an equation where the husband is literally worshipped by the wife, a practice that got perpetuated in India, due to patriarchal, religious politics! Women in ancient India had more independence and freely debated with men! I am writing a poem on the topic and will share soon, dear friends! To me friendship is the synonym of equality, and the poems last evening cheered for this bond very strongly! Apart from the relationship poems, some poems were directly for friends, like Lucilla paid tribute to a deceased friend! Truly touching and thoughtful gathering. Thanks to the team of Fertile Brains, and brother Kkumar Prasanna, also a great friend!”
