लाहौर, 20 नवंबर 2025 — पंजाब सरकार ने स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में एक ऐतिहासिक पहल करते हुए बहावलपुर और रहीम यार खान में दो विशेष बर्न यूनिट्स के निर्माण की घोषणा की है, जिन पर कुल 8 अरब रुपये का निवेश किया जाएगा। यह घोषणा स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय की उच्चस्तरीय बैठक में की गई और इसका उद्देश्य दक्षिणी पंजाब में विशेष चिकित्सा सुविधाओं को मजबूत करना और मरीजों को उच्च स्तरीय उपचार उपलब्ध कराना है।

दक्षिणी पंजाब में घरेलू हादसे, औद्योगिक दुर्घटनाएं और सड़क हादसों के कारण जलने की घटनाओं में वृद्धि देखी गई है। पिछले दशक में, इस क्षेत्र के अस्पतालों में विशेष बर्न केयर की कमी के कारण मरीजों को लाहौर या मुल्तान जैसी बड़ी शहरों तक इलाज के लिए लंबी दूरी तय करनी पड़ती रही है। बहावलपुर और रहीम यार खान में इन यूनिट्स के निर्माण से मरीजों की मृत्यु दर कम होगी, समय पर इलाज संभव होगा और बर्न केयर में विशेषज्ञ डॉक्टरों और नर्सों को प्रशिक्षण मिलेगा।
सरकारी सूत्रों के अनुसार 8 अरब रुपये की कुल लागत में दोनों आधुनिक अस्पतालों का निर्माण, अत्याधुनिक चिकित्सा उपकरणों की खरीद, प्रशिक्षित स्टाफ की भर्ती और पहले पांच वर्षों के संचालन खर्च शामिल हैं। इन यूनिट्स में शोध प्रयोगशालाएं, प्रशिक्षण सुविधाएं और पुनर्वास केंद्र भी होंगे, जो गंभीर जलने के बाद मरीजों को शारीरिक और मानसिक रूप से स्वस्थ होने में सहायता करेंगे।
विशेषज्ञों ने इस पहल का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि बर्न यूनिट्स आपातकालीन स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं में सुधार के लिए अत्यंत आवश्यक हैं। लाहौर के वरिष्ठ सर्जन डॉ. कमरान अहमद ने कहा, “यह स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है। समर्पित बर्न यूनिट्स न केवल जीवन दर बढ़ाती हैं, बल्कि जलने की रोकथाम, इलाज की प्रक्रिया और दीर्घकालिक देखभाल पर भी शोध को बढ़ावा देती हैं।”
