Guardians of Light: CISF Celebrates Diwali on Duty — DG Praveer Ranjan Visits Personnel Across Delhi Installations, Shares Festive Warmth and Gratitude

As the nation glows with lamps and laughter on the festival of Diwali, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) — the sentinels of India’s vital infrastructure — continues to stand vigilant, ensuring that while millions celebrate in safety, the nation’s security remains uncompromised.
Demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and leadership that defines the force, Director General (DG) CISF Shri Praveer Ranjan visited several key installations in the national capital, including Delhi Airport, Delhi Metro, Parliament House Complex, and Vigyan Bhawan, to celebrate the festival of lights with the personnel on duty.
His visit was not only symbolic of gratitude toward those who safeguard India’s lifelines during festivities but also a reaffirmation of the CISF’s unwavering ethos — “Duty Before Self.”
Diwali on Duty: A Festival of Service and Sacrifice
For the men and women of the CISF, Diwali nights are often spent not under lanterns and diyas at home but under floodlights at airports, power plants, metros, and government complexes — the backbone of India’s critical infrastructure.
While the rest of the nation celebrates with family, these security professionals remain alert at their posts, protecting millions who travel, gather, and celebrate across India’s bustling urban centres.
On Diwali eve, DG Praveer Ranjan led from the front — visiting CISF units deployed at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport), Delhi Metro Rail Network, Parliament Security Complex, and Vigyan Bhawan — extending greetings, distributing sweets, and sharing personal moments of warmth with the jawans.
His interaction with personnel across locations carried a simple yet powerful message: “You are the reason India celebrates in peace.”
A Day of Pride and Gratitude: CISF’s Commitment in Action
At Delhi Airport, one of the busiest in Asia, DG Ranjan interacted with airport security teams overseeing passenger screening, perimeter surveillance, and counter-sabotage operations. The CISF plays a critical role at IGI Airport, where thousands of passengers pass through every hour — their safety ensured by alert eyes that never rest.
He personally thanked the personnel for maintaining the highest levels of alertness despite the festival rush and the heavy passenger load. The DG also reviewed security preparedness and the smooth coordination between CISF units, airport authorities, and intelligence agencies.
Later, at the Delhi Metro, which sees lakhs of daily commuters, DG Ranjan greeted the metro security team stationed across stations and control rooms. The Metro network, spread across hundreds of kilometres, remains one of the largest urban public transport systems under CISF protection.
At Parliament House Complex, the nation’s most sensitive and symbolic structure, the DG met with the specialized CISF Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Bomb Detection Squads, and Surveillance Wing officers, acknowledging their discipline and composure while protecting the temple of Indian democracy — especially during the festive season.
The visit concluded at Vigyan Bhawan, where DG Ranjan joined personnel in a symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony, reflecting the inner light of duty, courage, and service that defines the CISF spirit.
“Festivals Are Complete Only When You Feel the Warmth of Those Who Protect You”
Speaking during his visit, DG Praveer Ranjan conveyed heartfelt Diwali wishes to the CISF fraternity and their families across the nation.
“The nation celebrates Diwali in joy because our personnel stand firm in vigilance. You embody discipline, devotion, and duty — the true spirit of service. Festivals are complete only when we remember and thank those who protect us,” he said.
He emphasized that every CISF jawan symbolizes the spirit of seva (service) and suraksha (security), ensuring that India’s celebrations remain safe and peaceful.
DG Ranjan also praised the force’s operational excellence in securing critical infrastructure, transport hubs, nuclear and space establishments, and heritage monuments — each vital to India’s economic and cultural fabric.
CISF — The Silent Guardians of India’s Growth
The Central Industrial Security Force, raised in 1969, has grown into one of the world’s largest and most specialized security forces dedicated to protecting critical national assets. With over 1.7 lakh personnel, CISF is entrusted with safeguarding airports, seaports, power plants, steel industries, metro networks, government buildings, and space research installations.
From guarding the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Department of Atomic Energy facilities to securing heritage sites like the Taj Mahal, CISF’s footprint extends across India’s most vital sectors.

जब पूरा देश दीपों से जगमगा रहा था, तब भारत की सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के प्रहरी — सेंट्रल इंडस्ट्रियल सिक्योरिटी फोर्स (CISF) के जवान — अपने-अपने ड्यूटी पोस्ट पर सतर्क खड़े थे, यह सुनिश्चित करते हुए कि देशवासी शांति और सुरक्षा के माहौल में दिवाली मना सकें।
देश के महत्वपूर्ण प्रतिष्ठानों की सुरक्षा में जुटे इन कर्मियों के साथ दिवाली का पर्व मनाने पहुंचे CISF के महानिदेशक (DG) श्री प्रवीर रंजन, जिन्होंने दिल्ली के कई प्रमुख स्थानों — दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट, दिल्ली मेट्रो, संसद भवन परिसर और विज्ञान भवन — का दौरा किया।
उनकी यह यात्रा केवल एक औपचारिकता नहीं थी, बल्कि यह एक सजीव संदेश था — “Duty Before Self” यानी “कर्तव्य पहले, स्वयं बाद में।”
ड्यूटी पर दिवाली: सेवा और समर्पण का उत्सव
CISF के जवानों के लिए दिवाली की रातें अक्सर परिवार के साथ दीपक जलाने की नहीं होतीं, बल्कि एयरपोर्ट की रनवे लाइट्स और कंट्रोल रूम की स्क्रीन के बीच बीतती हैं।
जब देश के अधिकांश नागरिक अपने घरों में परिवार संग उत्सव मना रहे थे, वहीँ ये सुरक्षा प्रहरी यात्रियों, सार्वजनिक स्थलों और राष्ट्रीय परिसरों की निगरानी में जुटे थे।
डीजी प्रवीर रंजन ने दिवाली की पूर्व संध्या पर इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे, दिल्ली मेट्रो नेटवर्क, संसद सुरक्षा परिसर और विज्ञान भवन में तैनात कर्मियों से मुलाकात की, उन्हें मिठाई खिलाई, शुभकामनाएं दीं और उनके त्याग के लिए व्यक्तिगत आभार व्यक्त किया।
उनका संदेश स्पष्ट था —
“भारत इसलिए सुरक्षित है क्योंकि आप सतर्क हैं। देश की खुशियों के पीछे आपका समर्पण और त्याग है।”
एयरपोर्ट से संसद तक — सुरक्षा और संवेदनशीलता का संगम
दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट, जो एशिया के सबसे व्यस्ततम हवाई अड्डों में से एक है, वहां डीजी रंजन ने सुरक्षा तैयारियों का जायजा लिया।
उन्होंने चेक-इन पॉइंट्स, निगरानी केंद्रों और परिधि सुरक्षा व्यवस्था का निरीक्षण करते हुए जवानों की सतर्कता की सराहना की।
इसके बाद दिल्ली मेट्रो नेटवर्क का दौरा किया, जहाँ लाखों यात्रियों के लिए CISF सुरक्षा का अभिन्न हिस्सा है।
वहाँ भी उन्होंने स्टेशन कंट्रोल रूम और निगरानी डेस्क पर तैनात कर्मियों से बातचीत की।
संसद भवन परिसर में डीजी रंजन ने क्विक रिएक्शन टीम (QRT), बॉम्ब डिस्पोजल यूनिट और निगरानी विंग के अधिकारियों से मुलाकात की।
उन्होंने कहा कि “लोकतंत्र के इस मंदिर की सुरक्षा सबसे बड़ी जिम्मेदारी है, और CISF इसे पूर्ण निष्ठा से निभा रहा है।”
अंत में विज्ञान भवन में दीप प्रज्वलन कर उन्होंने जवानों के साथ मिलकर ‘सेवा की ज्योति’ जलाकर यह संदेश दिया —
“ड्यूटी और सेवा का प्रकाश ही सच्ची दिवाली का अर्थ है।”
“त्योहार तब ही पूरे होते हैं जब हम उन्हें सुरक्षा के साथ मना सकें”
DG प्रवीर रंजन ने कहा —
“देश जब दीपोत्सव मना रहा होता है, तब हमारे जवान चौकसी में खड़े रहते हैं। आपका अनुशासन, आपका समर्पण और आपकी सेवा ही इस त्यौहार की सच्ची भावना है। हम आप पर गर्व करते हैं।”
उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि CISF हर त्यौहार पर देश के विकास, सुरक्षा और स्थिरता के पीछे अदृश्य शक्ति की तरह काम करता है।
उनके अनुसार —
“हर दीपक की रोशनी के पीछे किसी न किसी CISF कर्मी की ड्यूटी की ज्योति जलती है।”
देश की रीढ़ — CISF की भूमिका और विरासत
1969 में स्थापित CISF आज विश्व की सबसे बड़ी औद्योगिक सुरक्षा सेनाओं में से एक है।
करीब 1.7 लाख कर्मियों वाला यह बल देश के हवाई अड्डों, समुद्री बंदरगाहों, ऊर्जा संयंत्रों, मेट्रो नेटवर्क, सरकारी भवनों, इसरो और परमाणु प्रतिष्ठानों की सुरक्षा करता है।
यह न केवल औद्योगिक परिसरों बल्कि ताजमहल जैसे सांस्कृतिक धरोहरों की भी सुरक्षा करता है।
CISF की मौजूदगी यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि भारत की प्रगति बिना किसी रुकावट के जारी रहे — चाहे त्योहार हो, या सामान्य दिन।
हर त्योहार पर कई जवान अपनी ड्यूटी घंटों को बढ़ाते हैं ताकि नागरिक सुरक्षित रूप से उत्सव मना सकें — यही उनका “Silent Service” है।
त्यौहार की मिठास और भाईचारे की भावना
DG रंजन ने जवानों के साथ मिठाइयां साझा कीं, बातचीत की और उनके परिवारों तक शुभकामनाएं पहुंचाईं।
उनके शब्दों में —
“जब आप राष्ट्र की रक्षा करते हैं, तो आप करोड़ों परिवारों, उनके उत्सवों और उनकी खुशियों की भी रक्षा करते हैं। हर दीपक आपकी ड्यूटी की रोशनी से जगमगाता है।”
कई जवानों ने कहा कि DG का यह दौरा उनके मनोबल को बढ़ाने वाला था — “दिवाली पर घर से दूर रहकर भी ऐसा लगा कि हम परिवार के बीच हैं।”
मानवीय चेहरा: जनता के प्रति संवेदनशील बल
CISF केवल सुरक्षा ही नहीं, बल्कि संवेदना का भी प्रतीक है।
अक्सर हवाई अड्डों और मेट्रो स्टेशनों पर CISF कर्मी लापता बच्चों को परिवार से मिलाते हैं, खोए हुए सामान लौटाते हैं और बुजुर्ग यात्रियों की मदद करते हैं।
दिवाली के मौके पर CISF का यह जश्न केवल कर्तव्य की कहानी नहीं, बल्कि इंसानियत की रोशनी का भी प्रतीक था।
