IAF Congratulates ISRO on Successful Autonomous Landing of RLV ‘PUSHPAK’
The success of this mission highlights the capabilities and synergy between the IAF and ISRO, paving the way for future advancements in reusable space technology.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful demonstration of the autonomous landing capability of the Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) ‘PUSHPAK’. This achievement marks a significant milestone as part of ISRO’s RLV-LEX 3 mission.
The IAF reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its robust collaboration with ISRO to ensure many more successful missions in the future.
In a crucial role for this mission, an IAF Chinook helicopter met stringent flight parameters and executed the precise drop of the underslung RLV from an altitude of 4.5 km above mean sea level (amsl). This operation was particularly notable for being the first ever use of a Long-Sling Underslung operation by the Chinook helicopter.
The success of this mission highlights the capabilities and synergy between the IAF and ISRO, paving the way for future advancements in reusable space technology.
