IAF’s 93rd Anniversary Soars Over the Brahmaputra: Guwahati Witnesses a Sky Full of Power, Precision, and Pride

The azure skies over Guwahati turned into a theatre of pride and precision on Sunday as the Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrated its 93rd anniversary with a majestic air display over the Brahmaputra River. The event, held at the iconic Lachit Ghat, drew massive crowds who watched in awe as India’s air warriors painted the skies with skill, speed, and synchrony.
The grand spectacle symbolised the spirit of the IAF’s 93-year legacy — a journey marked by courage, technology, and transformation. The celebrations this year carried the theme “Infallible, Impervious and Precise” (“अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक”), reflecting the Air Force’s operational ethos and readiness to protect the nation’s skies at all times.
A Day of Glory Over the Brahmaputra
Presiding over the event as Chief Guest, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya applauded the Air Force’s unwavering dedication to national security. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari’s successor, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Air Marshal Surat Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, and several senior officials of the IAF and the state administration.
As the national anthem echoed through the air, the mighty roar of jet engines followed — signalling the beginning of a breathtaking aerial ballet.
Power in Motion: Aircraft That Ruled the Skies
The IAF’s elite aerial assets took turns to demonstrate their power and precision. Leading the formation was the indigenous Tejas fighter jet, a symbol of India’s self-reliant defence manufacturing prowess under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Its agile manoeuvres, high-speed rolls, and sonic bursts drew thunderous applause.
Adding to the pride was the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, a made-in-India platform designed for high-altitude warfare. Its aggressive yet graceful flight profile, executed with pinpoint accuracy, reflected the IAF’s expanding capabilities along India’s borders.
The skies also witnessed the C-295 transport aircraft, recently inducted into the IAF fleet, performing a flawless flypast showcasing India’s growing tactical mobility. The Hawk advanced trainer jets followed with precision loops and synchronised turns, representing the training excellence that defines IAF’s fighter pilots.
Aerobatics of Steel and Spirit
Spectators held their breath as the Sukhoi-30 MKI and Rafale fighters executed combat-style manoeuvres, showcasing their readiness and operational dominance. The thrilling aerobatics by the vintage Harvard aircraft brought a touch of nostalgia — a salute to IAF’s glorious heritage.
The grand finale featured the iconic Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, whose nine-aircraft diamond formation painted the skies with smoke trails of the tricolour, symbolising unity, courage, and peace. Complementing them was the Sarang helicopter display team, performing synchronised pirouettes over the river in their Dhruv helicopters, a true test of coordination and nerve.
A Spectacle Beyond Celebration
For Guwahati, this wasn’t just an air show — it was a message of strength, unity, and aspiration. The citizens cheered as the Air Force demonstrated not only technological superiority but also the human excellence behind each flight.
As dusk settled over the Brahmaputra, the reflections of the aircraft shimmered on the river’s surface, mirroring the IAF’s unwavering resolve to defend the nation’s skies with valor and vigilance.
The 93rd anniversary celebrations reaffirmed that the Indian Air Force remains India’s shield of the sky — infallible, impervious, and precise.

गुवाहाटी के आसमान में गूंजा वायुसेना का पराक्रम: ब्रह्मपुत्र के ऊपर हुई एयर शो ने 93वें स्थापना दिवस को बनाया यादगार

रविवार को गुवाहाटी का आसमान गर्व और गौरव से भर उठा जब भारतीय वायुसेना (IAF) ने अपने 93वें स्थापना दिवस के अवसर पर ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी के ऊपर एक भव्य हवाई प्रदर्शन किया। लाचित घाट पर आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में हजारों दर्शक पहुंचे जिन्होंने भारतीय वायुसेना के जाबांज पायलटों को आकाश में करतब करते हुए तालियों की गड़गड़ाहट से स्वागत किया।
इस वर्ष समारोह की थीम थी — “अचूक, अभेद्य व सटीक” (Infallible, Impervious and Precise) — जो वायुसेना की उस भावना को दर्शाती है जिसके तहत वह हर परिस्थिति में देश की सीमाओं और आकाश की रक्षा के लिए तत्पर रहती है।
ब्रह्मपुत्र के ऊपर शक्ति और शौर्य का संगम
कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में असम के राज्यपाल लक्ष्मण प्रसाद आचार्य उपस्थित थे। साथ ही मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा, वायुसेना प्रमुख एयर चीफ मार्शल ए.पी. सिंह, ईस्टर्न एयर कमांड के एयर ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ एयर मार्शल सुरत सिंह, और वायुसेना व राज्य सरकार के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी मौजूद थे।
जैसे ही राष्ट्रगान की ध्वनि ब्रह्मपुत्र के किनारे गूंजी, उसी क्षण जेट इंजनों की गड़गड़ाहट ने वातावरण को रोमांचक बना दिया।
आत्मनिर्भर भारत की उड़ान – तेजस और प्रचंड
प्रदर्शन की शुरुआत स्वदेशी तेजस लड़ाकू विमान ने की, जिसने अपने शानदार करतबों और तीव्र गति से दर्शकों का दिल जीत लिया। यह भारत की रक्षा आत्मनिर्भरता की सशक्त पहचान बन चुका है। इसके बाद लाइट कॉम्बैट हेलीकॉप्टर (LCH) प्रचंड ने अपनी शक्ति और सटीकता का प्रदर्शन किया।
नव-प्रविष्ट C-295 ट्रांसपोर्ट विमान ने बेहतरीन उड़ान क्षमता का परिचय दिया, जबकि हॉक ट्रेनर जेट्स ने अपने अनुशासित एयर फॉर्मेशन से यह दिखाया कि भारतीय पायलटों की ट्रेनिंग और तकनीक दोनों ही विश्वस्तरीय हैं।
राफेल और सुखोई की गड़गड़ाहट से गूंजा आसमान
जब राफेल और सुखोई-30 MKI ने हवा में कॉम्बैट डेमो किया, तो दर्शकों की सांसें थम गईं। उनके साथ विंटेज हार्वर्ड विमान ने इतिहास की झलक दी — reminding everyone of IAF’s glorious journey from vintage wings to supersonic power.
कार्यक्रम का समापन सूर्यकिरण एरोबेटिक टीम और सरंग हेलीकॉप्टर टीम के अद्भुत हवाई करतबों से हुआ। सूर्यकिरण टीम की नौ विमानों की तिरंगे रंग की ट्रेल्स ने आसमान को राष्ट्रभक्ति से रंग दिया, जबकि सरंग टीम ने अपने ध्रुव हेलीकॉप्टरों से सटीक समन्वय का प्रदर्शन किया।
गुवाहाटी का गौरव, भारत का अभिमान
ब्रह्मपुत्र की लहरों में झिलमिलाती विमान आकृतियाँ भारतीय वायुसेना के साहस और समर्पण की झलक दिखा रही थीं।
93 वर्षों का यह सफर यह साबित करता है कि भारतीय वायुसेना न केवल देश की सीमाओं की रक्षा करती है, बल्कि हर भारतीय के मन में सुरक्षा, गर्व और आत्मविश्वास का प्रतीक है।
