The Centre of Executive Education at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in New Delhi inaugurated a two-week Media and Communication Program specifically designed for 21 officers of the Indian Armed Forces on July 1st, 2024. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the communication skills and media proficiency of military personnel.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Sunetra Sen Narayan, Head of the Centre of Executive Education. In her opening remarks, Dr. Narayan highlighted the critical role of effective communication and media in contemporary settings, especially within the defense sector.
She stressed the importance of mastering these tools for better dissemination and management of information in military operations.
This specialized training session aims to equip the officers with advanced skills in handling media relations, crisis communication, and strategic communication management, thereby enabling them to manage both internal and external communication more effectively.
