High-Level Interaction Highlights Importance of Government Communication
A significant interaction focusing on public communication, governance outreach and the evolving role of government media took place in Jaipur on Friday evening, when a delegation of Indian Information Service (IIS) officers currently posted in Jaipur called on Rajasthan Chief Secretary Shri V. Srinivas. The meeting reflected the growing emphasis on strengthening coordination between the Centre and the State in effectively communicating public welfare initiatives, policy reforms and development outcomes to citizens. The delegation was led by Ms Ritu Shukla, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB), who was accompanied by senior officers from PIB, Doordarshan and All India Radio.
Chief Secretary Emphasises Centre–State Synergy for Public Welfare
During an informal yet substantive discussion with the IIS officers, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas underscored that both the Central Government and State Government are continuously working in close alignment for public welfare. He noted that over the past several years, numerous citizen-centric policies and welfare schemes have been conceptualised and implemented, aimed at improving quality of life, governance efficiency and socio-economic inclusion. The Chief Secretary highlighted that effective communication of these initiatives is essential to ensure that benefits reach the intended stakeholders and that citizens are well-informed about government efforts.
Crucial Role of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Media Units
Shri V. Srinivas specifically acknowledged the critical role played by media units under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including Press Information Bureau, Doordarshan and All India Radio, in disseminating authentic, timely and credible information to the masses. He remarked that these platforms serve as a bridge between government policy and public understanding, particularly in an era marked by information overload and misinformation. The Chief Secretary stressed that government communication must not only inform but also build trust, clarity and awareness among citizens regarding policy intent and implementation.
Highlighting Positive Impact of Central Schemes in Rajasthan
The Chief Secretary further observed that the positive transformation brought about by Central Government schemes in Rajasthan should be an integral part of public discourse. From infrastructure development and social welfare to digital governance and service delivery reforms, he noted that several initiatives have contributed to visible improvements on the ground. He encouraged the IIS officers to ensure that these success stories, backed by factual data and field-level impact, are effectively communicated to the public, thereby fostering informed engagement and participatory governance.
Press Information Bureau Presents Overview of Media Outreach
Leading the delegation, Ms Ritu Shukla, Additional Director General, PIB, briefed the Chief Secretary on the range of communication initiatives being undertaken by media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She elaborated on the role of PIB in policy dissemination, media coordination, outreach campaigns and public awareness programmes. The discussion also touched upon integrated communication strategies involving print, electronic and digital platforms to ensure wider reach, especially in regional and rural contexts.
Participation of Senior Officers from PIB, Doordarshan and AIR
The delegation comprised senior officers representing key government media organisations. Those present included Mr Anubhav Bairwa, Director, Press Information Bureau; Mr Dharmesh Bharti, Deputy Director, PIB; Ms Manju Meena, Deputy Director, Doordarshan News; Mr Murari Gupta, Assistant Director; Mr Ram Nath Meena, Deputy Director, All India Radio News; and Mr Jitendra Dwivedi, Assistant Director. Their presence reflected the collective and coordinated approach of government media institutions in strengthening public communication at the state level.

राजधानी जयपुर में शुक्रवार शाम एक महत्वपूर्ण प्रशासनिक संवाद देखने को मिला, जब जयपुर में पदस्थापित भारतीय सूचना सेवा (IIS) के अधिकारियों के एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने राजस्थान के मुख्य सचिव वी. श्रीनिवास से शिष्टाचार भेंट की। यह मुलाकात केवल औपचारिकता तक सीमित नहीं रही, बल्कि इसमें केंद्र और राज्य सरकार की जनकल्याणकारी योजनाओं, उनके प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन तथा आम जनता तक सही और तथ्यात्मक जानकारी पहुंचाने में सूचना तंत्र की भूमिका पर गहन चर्चा हुई। इस अवसर ने प्रशासन और मीडिया इकाइयों के बीच आपसी समन्वय को और मजबूत करने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण संकेत दिए।
पत्र सूचना कार्यालय की अपर महानिदेशक के नेतृत्व में प्रतिनिधिमंडल
इस प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व पत्र सूचना कार्यालय (PIB) की अपर महानिदेशक ऋतु शुक्ला ने किया। उनके साथ सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय से संबद्ध विभिन्न मीडिया इकाइयों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मौजूद रहे। यह प्रतिनिधिमंडल केंद्र सरकार के सूचना तंत्र का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहा था, जिसका प्रमुख उद्देश्य सरकारी नीतियों, योजनाओं और उपलब्धियों को सटीक, प्रभावी और व्यापक रूप से जनता तक पहुंचाना है। अधिकारियों की यह सामूहिक उपस्थिति इस बात का संकेत थी कि सूचना सेवा को शासन का एक अहम स्तंभ माना जा रहा है।

मुख्य सचिव वी. श्रीनिवास ने अधिकारियों से अनौपचारिक लेकिन सारगर्भित चर्चा करते हुए कहा कि केंद्र और राज्य सरकारें जनकल्याण को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देते हुए निरंतर कार्य कर रही हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले कुछ वर्षों में सामाजिक, आर्थिक, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य और बुनियादी ढांचे से जुड़ी अनेक जनकल्याणकारी योजनाएं और नीतियां लागू की गई हैं, जिनका उद्देश्य आम नागरिक के जीवन स्तर में वास्तविक सुधार लाना है। उन्होंने इस बात पर बल दिया कि इन नीतियों के सकारात्मक प्रभाव और जमीनी बदलावों को समाज के सामने लाना बेहद आवश्यक है।
सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय की मीडिया इकाइयों की अहम भूमिका
मुख्य सचिव ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार की योजनाओं और नीतियों के प्रति जन-जागरूकता बढ़ाने में सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय की मीडिया इकाइयों की भूमिका अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। उन्होंने यह भी रेखांकित किया कि केवल योजनाओं की घोषणा ही नहीं, बल्कि उनके परिणाम, सफलता की कहानियां और राज्य में आए सकारात्मक बदलाव भी सार्वजनिक विमर्श का हिस्सा बनने चाहिए। इससे न केवल पारदर्शिता बढ़ती है, बल्कि नागरिकों का शासन व्यवस्था पर विश्वास भी मजबूत होता है।
राज्य में आए सकारात्मक बदलावों को विमर्श में लाने की आवश्यकता
मुख्य सचिव वी. श्रीनिवास ने विशेष रूप से इस बात पर जोर दिया कि केंद्र सरकार की योजनाओं के कारण राजस्थान में जो सकारात्मक परिवर्तन देखने को मिले हैं, उन्हें तथ्यों और आंकड़ों के साथ जनता तक पहुंचाया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि यह प्रक्रिया न केवल नीति-निर्माताओं के लिए फीडबैक का कार्य करती है, बल्कि आम नागरिकों को भी यह समझने में मदद करती है कि सरकारी प्रयास किस प्रकार उनके जीवन को प्रभावित कर रहे हैं।

इस अवसर पर PIB की अपर महानिदेशक ऋतु शुक्ला ने मुख्य सचिव को सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय की मीडिया इकाइयों द्वारा किए जा रहे कार्यों की विस्तृत जानकारी दी। उन्होंने बताया कि किस प्रकार पत्र सूचना कार्यालय, दूरदर्शन और आकाशवाणी के माध्यम से केंद्र सरकार की नीतियों, योजनाओं और कार्यक्रमों की जानकारी विभिन्न माध्यमों और भाषाओं में जनता तक पहुंचाई जा रही है। उन्होंने डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म, सोशल मीडिया और पारंपरिक माध्यमों के समन्वय से सूचना प्रसार की रणनीति पर भी प्रकाश डाला।
बैठक में शामिल वरिष्ठ अधिकारी और उनकी भूमिका
मुख्य सचिव से मुलाकात करने वाले प्रतिनिधिमंडल में पत्र सूचना कार्यालय के निदेशक अनुभव बैरवा, उप निदेशक धर्मेश भारती, दूरदर्शन समाचार की उप निदेशक मंजू मीना, सहायक निदेशक मुरारी गुप्ता, आकाशवाणी समाचार के उप निदेशक राम नाथ मीणा और सहायक निदेशक जितेंद्र द्विवेदी शामिल रहे। इन सभी अधिकारियों ने अपने-अपने क्षेत्र में सूचना प्रसार, समाचार संकलन और जनसंचार के अनुभव साझा किए, जिससे यह बैठक और भी उपयोगी एवं व्यावहारिक बन सकी।
