“Karmabhoomi-Hashtakshar Utsav” successfully concluded in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad, — The cultural vibrancy of Ahmedabad witnessed a remarkable confluence of literature, art, and cinema as “Karmabhoomi-Hashtakshar Utsav” concluded with resounding success at Kamla Café. The event was jointly organised by Karmabhoomi Ahmedabad—a literary and cultural initiative—and Hashtakshar, an online Hindi magazine that has been a household name among digital readers for over a decade.
The unique collaboration was spearheaded by Preeti ‘Agyat’, a well-known writer, blogger and founder-editor of Hashtakshar, and Neerja Bhatnagar, an English language blogger and entrepreneur. Their combined efforts have shaped Karmabhoomi Ahmedabad into an institution committed to nurturing literature, creativity, and cultural dialogue in the city.
Two Sessions, Two Dimensions of Creativity
The day-long celebration unfolded in two sessions.
The first session, dedicated to “Rachna Path” (creative readings), was graced by eminent educationist and senior litterateur Manju Bhatnagar as the chief guest. Distinguished as well as emerging writers took the stage, presenting their works across a wide spectrum of literary genres including poetry, short stories, memoirs, ghazals, and songs.
Notable participants included Pranav Bharti, Madhu Sosi, Prabha Mujumdar, Preeti Agyat, Mallika Mukherjee, Neerja Bhatnagar, Kumud Verma, Mamta Singh, Leena Kheria, Vinita Kumar, Seema Sharma, Chandraprabha Sharma, Aruna Rajoura, and Pooja Agarwal.
In her presidential address, Manju Bhatnagar praised the vision and relentless efforts of Karmabhoomi Ahmedabad, stating that “in the last six years, this institution has moved not just one or two but six hundred steps forward.” She also spoke on the contemporary relevance of literature and the role of writers in shaping thought and society.
Cinema as a Tool of Learning: The Second Session
The second session captivated the audience with a special workshop by Malti Mehta, an educationist, media professional, and documentary filmmaker.
Themed “The Art of Filmmaking”, the workshop provided participants with deep insights into the fascinating world of cinema. Malti ji began by tracing the brief history of cinema and then delved into the technical and creative nuances of film production. She explained the importance of pre-production planning, the craft of screenplay writing, and the finer details that make a story translate powerfully onto the screen.
The session was interactive, with participants raising questions about cinema as an art form and Malti ji patiently addressing each curiosity. The workshop not only enlightened aspiring creators but also expanded the horizons of literature enthusiasts who saw cinema as another form of storytelling.
Honouring the Contributors
One of the highlights of the event was the recognition and felicitation of all those who have been associated with Karmabhoomi since its inception. Certificates were also presented to the participants of the Rachna Path session, acknowledging their contributions.
At the conclusion, Preeti ‘Agyat’ and Neerja Bhatnagar, the founding duo, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the guests, participants, and supporters. Their address reflected humility, optimism, and a firm commitment to expanding the reach of Hindi literature and creative expressions through digital and offline initiatives alike.
The entire event, spread across the two rich sessions, was seamlessly anchored by Seema Sharma, a writer and educator, who ensured that every moment carried the warmth of literary camaraderie.
The Karmabhoomi-Hashtakshar Utsav thus not only celebrated literature but also underscored the unity of creative forms—words, stories, and cinema—binding Ahmedabad’s cultural landscape together.
“कर्मभूमि-हस्ताक्षर उत्सव” अहमदाबाद में सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न
अहमदाबाद — अहमदाबाद की सांस्कृतिक धरा ने साहित्य, कला और सिनेमा का एक अनूठा संगम देखा जब “कर्मभूमि-हस्ताक्षर उत्सव” कमला कैफ़े में सफलता के साथ संपन्न हुआ। इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन साहित्य और संस्कृति को समर्पित संस्था “कर्मभूमि अहमदाबाद” तथा लोकप्रिय ऑनलाइन हिंदी पत्रिका “हस्ताक्षर” के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में किया गया।
इस पहल के पीछे थीं लेखिका एवं हस्ताक्षर वेब पत्रिका की संस्थापक-संपादक प्रीति ‘अज्ञात’ और अंग्रेज़ी भाषा की ब्लॉगर एवं उद्यमी नीरजा भटनागर। दोनों ने मिलकर अहमदाबाद में साहित्य और सृजनशीलता को नई ऊँचाइयों तक पहुँचाने का संकल्प लिया और इस उत्सव को साकार किया।
दो सत्रों में सृजन का उत्सव
यह आयोजन दो सत्रों में विभाजित था।
प्रथम सत्र ‘रचना पाठ’ का था जिसमें वरिष्ठ साहित्यकार एवं शिक्षाविद मंजु भटनागर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में मौजूद रहीं। इस सत्र में प्रतिष्ठित एवं नवोदित साहित्यकारों ने कविता, कहानी, संस्मरण, ग़ज़ल और गीत जैसी विभिन्न विधाओं में अपनी रचनाएँ प्रस्तुत कीं।
इसमें भाग लेने वाले रचनाकार थे — प्रणव भारती, मधु सोसि, प्रभा मुजुमदार, प्रीति अज्ञात, मल्लिका मुखर्जी, नीरजा भटनागर, कुमुद वर्मा, ममता सिंह, लीना खेरिया, विनीता कुमार, सीमा शर्मा, चन्द्रप्रभा शर्मा, अरुणा राजौरा और पूजा अग्रवाल।
अपने अध्यक्षीय वक्तव्य में मंजु भटनागर ने ‘कर्मभूमि अहमदाबाद’ की प्रगति की सराहना करते हुए कहा—“पिछले छह वर्षों में यह संस्था एक-दो नहीं बल्कि छह सौ क़दम आगे बढ़ी है।” उन्होंने साहित्य की प्रासंगिकता और समाज में रचनाकारों की भूमिका पर भी गंभीर विचार रखे।
सिनेमा निर्माण पर कार्यशाला: द्वितीय सत्र
दूसरे सत्र में दर्शकों को शिक्षाविद, मीडिया प्रोफेशनल और डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म निर्माता मालती मेहता की कार्यशाला ने विशेष रूप से आकर्षित किया।
कार्यशाला का विषय था “सिनेमा निर्माण की कला”। मालती जी ने सिनेमा के संक्षिप्त इतिहास से शुरुआत की और फिर फ़िल्म निर्माण की बारीकियों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की। उन्होंने पटकथा लेखन और पूर्व तैयारी को फ़िल्म की आत्मा बताते हुए कई व्यावहारिक उदाहरण दिए।
सत्र को सहभागिता पूर्ण बनाते हुए उन्होंने प्रतिभागियों के सभी प्रश्नों का उत्तर दिया। यह कार्यशाला न केवल साहित्य प्रेमियों बल्कि उभरते सिनेमा रचनाकारों के लिए भी मार्गदर्शक सिद्ध हुई।
सम्मान और आभार का समापन
इस अवसर पर कर्मभूमि से जुड़े सभी साथियों को सम्मानित किया गया और रचना पाठ में शामिल प्रतिभागियों को प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान किए गए।
अंत में प्रीति ‘अज्ञात’ और नीरजा भटनागर ने सभी उपस्थित अतिथियों, प्रतिभागियों और सहयोगियों के प्रति धन्यवाद ज्ञापन किया। उनके शब्दों में विनम्रता के साथ-साथ साहित्य को आगे बढ़ाने का संकल्प भी झलकता था।
कार्यक्रम का कुशल संचालन सीमा शर्मा ने किया, जिनकी प्रस्तुति ने दोनों सत्रों को सहज और ऊर्जावान बनाया।
इस प्रकार “कर्मभूमि-हस्ताक्षर उत्सव” ने न केवल साहित्य का उत्सव मनाया बल्कि यह भी सिद्ध किया कि शब्द, कला और सिनेमा जब एक साथ आते हैं तो सांस्कृतिक परिदृश्य और भी समृद्ध हो जाता है।
