Bikaner will become the first city in the country to provide door to door Covid vaccination service
45 plus age group will get benefit

Bikaner, Bikaner is going to become the first city in the country to provide door to door COVID vaccination service. In Bikaner, this service is b start from Monday on the initiative of District Collector Namit Mehta. This work of door to door vaccination will be done from 8 am to 6 pm for the first dose only for 45 plus age group. For this, any city dweller can book a slot for vaccination by contacting the helpline landline number or mobile number issued by the health department during the specified time provided that at least 10 persons or a person in multiples of 10 is ready for the first dose vaccination. Vaccination will be done by Covishield or Co-Vaccine as per availability. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr OP Chahar said that this service will definitely benefit those people who were unable to get immunization due to old age or other disability. Also, having vaccination near home will motivate other beneficiaries to get vaccinated.
How to get vaccinated at home?
RCHO Dr Rajesh Kumar Gupta said that in any Bikaner urban area, if there are persons in multiples of 10 willing to vaccinate for the first dose in the age group of 45 plus, then any one of them can contact the department’s helpline landline number 0151-2204989 or WhatsApp. One can apply by filling the prescribed format by informing on number 8209492164. In the application, information related to the name, age, Aadhaar number, mobile number and address of the beneficiaries will have to be given.

How the service will be operated
Dr Chahar informed that for the operation of the service, separate teams have been formed in the CMHO control room from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Under the leadership of Dr. Amit Gothwal and Dr. Pushpendra Singh and Nursing Tutors Anupam Pareek and Ajay Bhati, the duty of four Vaccinators and four Verifiers has been imposed.
Dr Gupta said that for effective AEFI monitoring, the team would stay at the same place for half an hour after the final vaccination and before each vaccination drive, the in-charge of the urban primary health center concerned in that area would also be informed. Despite door to door vaccination, all standard operating procedures related to vaccination will be followed.
