Pakistan Rangers Claim Detention of Indian National Near Kasur Border, Raise Fresh Cross-Border Sensitivities
In yet another incident adding to the fragile and sensitive dynamics along the India–Pakistan international border, Pakistan Rangers have claimed the arrest of an Indian citizen from a border-adjacent village in Pakistan’s Kasur district of Punjab province. According to official statements released by Pakistani authorities, the individual was detained after allegedly crossing into Pakistani territory from the Indian side. The development has triggered renewed attention on border management, civilian movement near fenced areas, and the humanitarian aspects of such detentions, especially in a region where accidental crossings are not uncommon.
Arrest Near Ganda Singh Sector: Pakistan Rangers’ Official Claim
Pakistan Rangers, the paramilitary force responsible for border security along the India–Pakistan boundary in Punjab, stated that the Indian national was apprehended from the Sehjra area falling under the jurisdiction of the Ganda Singh police station in Kasur district.
