PROJECT NEEV’ – A GIRL EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE BY INDIAN ARMY SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES IN BARMER

            ‘Project Neev’, a pioneering girl empowerment initiative conducted by Bogra Brigade of the Indian Army at Chuli, a border village of Barmer district for past two months successfully concluded on 1st June.

            Project Neev was aimed at holistic development of 25 young girls enabled and empowered them through health awareness, regular exercises, spiritual well being, imparting decision-making skills and task management. Girls aged nine to twelve participated in this program and they were guided by wives of Indian Army personnel on specific personal development aspects.

            Indian Army in coordination with Hamari Laado Foundation inscribed a new chapter through Project Neev in budding lives of these young girls towards holistic personality development & empowerment. The activity was widely appreciated by the parents of the children and the local community residing in border areas.

            The closing ceremony was held at Swami Vivekananda Government Model School, Chuli village, Barmer, wherein the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sonika Uppal, Chairperson of Army Women’s Welfare, Bogra Brigade, addressed the girls and congratulated them on their all round development. She also inspired the participating girls by awarding them with certificates and medals. The event was also attended by Mrs. Premlata Poonia, founder of the “Hamari Laado” Foundation, Mrs. Aparna Chauhan, Director of the NGO and School Principal Mr. Ishwar Dan.
