Sapta Shakti Command Organises Seminar on “Contribution of Veterans in Nation Building” at Jaipur Military Station
Jaipur, 30 September 2025 – In a significant initiative that highlighted the invaluable role of the veteran community in India’s progress and resilience, the Sapta Shakti Command of the Indian Army organised a seminar on the theme “Contribution of Veterans in Nation Building” at the Jaipur Military Station. The event, held on 30 September 2025, brought together veterans, serving officers, and thought leaders who deliberated on the multifaceted ways in which ex-servicemen continue to strengthen the nation long after their uniformed service.
A Platform for Dialogue Between Serving Soldiers and Veterans
The seminar was designed to create a bridge of dialogue between serving personnel and veterans, ensuring that the wisdom, experience, and skills of the latter find their rightful place in India’s developmental journey. A large gathering of ex-servicemen from Jaipur and surrounding military stations participated enthusiastically, alongside serving officers of the Command. The event not only provided a forum for intellectual discourse but also served as a reaffirmation of the enduring bond between the Indian Army and its veteran fraternity.
Eminent Veterans Share Their Perspectives
The highlight of the seminar was the address by three distinguished veteran officers—Major General Alok Raj Goyal, Brigadier K. Birendra Singh, and Brigadier Karan Singh Rathore. Each of them brought a unique perspective drawn from decades of service in challenging operational environments and subsequent experiences in civilian life.
Major General Goyal underlined the critical importance of veterans as the “connective tissue” between civil society and military institutions. He stressed that their leadership qualities and organisational skills remain unmatched assets for the nation, particularly in areas such as disaster management, counter-insurgency training, and national security awareness.
Brigadier Birendra Singh elaborated on how veterans can be harnessed to support paramilitary and police forces in specialised training modules for counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations. Drawing from his operational background, he highlighted case studies where the expertise of retired soldiers had helped shape effective anti-insurgency responses.
Brigadier Rathore emphasised the role of veterans in nation building beyond the sphere of security. He noted that many veterans possess highly diverse professional skills—from engineering and logistics to information technology and entrepreneurship—that can accelerate national development programmes. He called upon industries, government bodies, and academic institutions to create collaborative mechanisms that would allow veterans to actively participate in projects of social and economic significance.
Government Support and Civil-Military Synergy
Speakers also discussed the growing role of government schemes in facilitating the resettlement and reintegration of veterans into mainstream society. They pointed out that policy initiatives aimed at skill development, financial empowerment, and entrepreneurship are steps in the right direction, but their impact would be maximised only when combined with active support from local administrations, corporate houses, and civil society organisations.
The seminar made a strong case for leveraging veterans as trainers, motivators, and community leaders. By establishing synergy between military ethos and civil structures, it was argued, India can not only enhance its preparedness for emergencies but also cultivate a culture of discipline, responsibility, and service among the youth.
Sapta Shakti Army Commander’s Call to Action
In the valedictory session, Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of Sapta Shakti Command, delivered the keynote remarks. He expressed deep appreciation for the dedicated service rendered by veterans and urged them to continue serving the nation with the same spirit of commitment in their post-uniformed lives.
Lieutenant General Singh underscored the need for structured reskilling and retraining programmes for ex-servicemen, particularly to prepare them for roles in national disaster management, fire emergencies, and other unforeseen contingencies. He observed that veterans, with their discipline, endurance, and problem-solving mindset, are natural leaders in times of crisis. “Our Commands and Corps Headquarters must take the lead in enabling platforms where the immense experience of our veterans can be channelised for the welfare of society,” he remarked.
He also called upon serving officers to uphold the glorious traditions of the Indian Armed Forces by demonstrating unwavering dedication to duty and reinforcing the Army’s reputation as the bedrock of the nation’s security and stability.
Veterans as Pillars of Progress
The seminar concluded on a note of optimism and mutual respect. It reaffirmed the idea that veterans are not merely retired personnel but enduring pillars of India’s progress. Their contributions, whether in uniform or in civilian capacities, continue to enrich the nation’s social fabric, bolster its security, and drive its development.
In highlighting their continuing relevance, the Sapta Shakti Command’s initiative reflected the Army’s recognition that nation building is not confined to serving soldiers alone but is a collective responsibility in which veterans have an indispensable role.
As participants dispersed after the day-long deliberations, the message was clear: the experience and expertise of India’s ex-servicemen will remain a national asset, and harnessing their potential is vital for a stronger, safer, and more prosperous India.

राष्ट्र निर्माण में पूर्व सैनिकों की भूमिका पर केन्द्रित सेमिनार
सप्त शक्ति कमान द्वारा जयपुर मिलिट्री स्टेशन में हुआ आयोजन, वक्ताओं ने राष्ट्रीय विकास में सैनिकों की विशेषज्ञता को बताया अमूल्य

भारतीय सेना की सप्त शक्ति कमान ने आज जयपुर मिलिट्री स्टेशन में एक ऐतिहासिक सेमिनार का आयोजन किया, जिसका विषय था – “राष्ट्र निर्माण में पूर्व सैनिकों का योगदान।” यह कार्यक्रम केवल एक औपचारिक आयोजन नहीं था, बल्कि राष्ट्र के विकास और सुरक्षा में पूर्व सैनिकों की सतत भूमिका को रेखांकित करने का एक सशक्त प्रयास भी था। इस अवसर पर बड़ी संख्या में पूर्व सैनिकों, वर्तमान में सेवारत अधिकारियों, और विभिन्न सैन्य-सिविल संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों ने हिस्सा लिया।
पूर्व सैनिकों के अनुभव को बताया राष्ट्रीय धरोहर
सेमिनार में तीन प्रख्यात पूर्व सैनिक वक्ता – मेजर जनरल आलोक राज गोयल, ब्रिगेडियर के. बिरेन्द्र सिंह और ब्रिगेडियर करण सिंह राठौर – ने अपने विचार रखे। उन्होंने कहा कि सैनिक जीवन का सबसे बड़ा योगदान अनुशासन, प्रतिबद्धता और राष्ट्रप्रेम है, और यही मूल्य सैनिक रिटायरमेंट के बाद भी समाज को ऊर्जा प्रदान करते हैं। वक्ताओं ने जोर देकर कहा कि पूर्व सैनिक देश के सुरक्षा ढांचे में अर्धसैनिक बलों और पुलिस संगठनों के प्रशिक्षण, आतंकवाद-रोधी और उग्रवाद-रोधी अभियानों में अपने अनुभव से महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दे सकते हैं।
मेजर जनरल आलोक राज गोयल ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि सैनिक केवल सीमा पर लड़कर ही नहीं, बल्कि सेवा निवृत्ति के बाद भी राष्ट्र निर्माण की प्रक्रिया को मजबूत कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि पूर्व सैनिकों के पास जो संगठनात्मक क्षमता और नेतृत्व कौशल है, वह भारत की विकास यात्रा को नई दिशा देने में कारगर सिद्ध हो सकता है।
ब्रिगेडियर के. बिरेन्द्र सिंह ने कहा कि आज का भारत बदल रहा है और इस बदलाव में पूर्व सैनिकों की भूमिका केवल सलाहकार या मार्गदर्शक तक सीमित नहीं रहनी चाहिए, बल्कि उन्हें आपदा प्रबंधन, आपातकालीन राहत कार्य और सामुदायिक सुरक्षा पहलों में सक्रिय रूप से शामिल किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने बताया कि प्राकृतिक आपदाओं और आकस्मिक परिस्थितियों में प्रशिक्षित पूर्व सैनिक एक सशक्त प्रतिक्रिया बल साबित हो सकते हैं।
ब्रिगेडियर करण सिंह राठौर ने राष्ट्रीय विकास पहलों में पूर्व सैनिकों की बहुमुखी क्षमताओं पर प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार को इस दिशा में योजनाबद्ध तरीके से कदम उठाने चाहिए, जिससे पूर्व सैनिकों को न केवल रोज़गार बल्कि राष्ट्रहित में योगदान का एक व्यापक अवसर मिले।
सरकारी पहलों और सामूहिक प्रयासों की ज़रूरत
वक्ताओं ने इस बात पर भी जोर दिया कि सरकार द्वारा चलाई जा रही विभिन्न योजनाएँ तभी सफल होंगी जब उनमें पूर्व सैनिकों की सक्रिय भागीदारी सुनिश्चित की जाए। चाहे वह “मेक इन इंडिया” जैसी औद्योगिक पहलें हों या कौशल विकास मिशन, पूर्व सैनिक इन योजनाओं को गति देने में एक “मानव शक्ति संपदा” की तरह कार्य कर सकते हैं।
आर्मी कमांडर का आह्वान
सेमिनार के समापन सत्र में सप्त शक्ति कमान के आर्मी कमांडर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनजिंदर सिंह ने अपने उद्बोधन में कहा कि सैनिक की पहचान उसके वर्दी उतारने के बाद भी समाप्त नहीं होती। उन्होंने सभी रैंकों से आग्रह किया कि वे अपनी निष्ठा और प्रतिबद्धता को जीवन भर बनाए रखें और राष्ट्र सेवा की भावना को हर क्षेत्र में जीवित रखें।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मनजिंदर सिंह ने पूर्व सैनिकों के संगठित पुनर्कौशलीकरण (reskilling) पर विशेष जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि तकनीकी और प्रशासनिक प्रशिक्षण से उन्हें राष्ट्रीय आपदाओं, अग्निकांडों और अन्य आकस्मिक परिस्थितियों में अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जा सकता है। आर्मी कमांडर ने यह भी उल्लेख किया कि कमान और कोर मुख्यालय ऐसी पहलों का नेतृत्व कर सकते हैं, जिससे पूर्व सैनिकों के विशाल अनुभव और विशेषज्ञता का उपयोग समाज और राष्ट्र की भलाई के लिए किया जा सके।
राष्ट्र निर्माण की सतत धारा
इस सेमिनार ने यह संदेश स्पष्ट रूप से दिया कि पूर्व सैनिक केवल अतीत की गौरवगाथा नहीं हैं, बल्कि वर्तमान और भविष्य के भारत के निर्माण में एक सक्रिय स्तंभ हैं। उनके अनुभव, अनुशासन और संघर्षशीलता आज भी राष्ट्र के लिए उतनी ही प्रासंगिक है जितनी सेवा के दौरान थी।
पूर्व सैनिकों की भागीदारी भारत को न केवल सुरक्षा के मोर्चे पर मजबूत करती है, बल्कि विकास, आपदा प्रबंधन, सामाजिक पुनर्निर्माण और प्रशासनिक दक्षता जैसे क्षेत्रों में भी देश को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाती है।
