SBI RSETI Bikaner and Army AWWA Empower Youth and Women Through Soft Toys and Usta Art Training Programs

Bikaner: In a city where tradition meets innovation, the State Bank of India’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) is emerging as a beacon of empowerment for unemployed youth and women. Over the past week, two significant training programs were held in Bikaner, one marking the culmination of a soft toys entrepreneurship batch and the other celebrating the inauguration of a unique seven-day Usta Art training camp, jointly organized with the Army Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA). Together, these initiatives underline a growing movement toward self-reliance, cultural preservation, and rural entrepreneurship.
Soft Toys Training: A Step Toward Self-Reliance
The soft toys training batch, which concluded on Saturday at the RSETI campus, was designed to provide participants with hands-on skills in toy-making, business strategies, and marketing techniques. The program targeted unemployed youth and women, offering them a pathway to build sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship.
During the closing ceremony, participants proudly displayed the soft toys they had crafted during the course. Many expressed their determination to establish small enterprises and explore local as well as online markets.
The event was graced by Major Rahul Yadav from the 24 Infantry Ranbankura Division Headquarters, Bikaner, who commended the institute’s sustained efforts to promote self-employment. He highlighted the importance of such programs in empowering local communities and nurturing a sense of dignity and independence among participants.
RSETI Director Rupesh Sharma emphasized that the program is not just a vocational course but a stepping stone toward economic empowerment. “The growing demand for handcrafted soft toys is opening up new avenues for self-employment, particularly for women. With the right skills and entrepreneurial mindset, the youth of Bikaner can transform challenges into opportunities,” he said.
Usta Art Training: Preserving Heritage, Creating Opportunities
On Monday, the focus shifted to cultural preservation as the RSETI campus at the Army RVTC grounds launched a seven-day training program on Usta Art — a centuries-old art form unique to Bikaner, known for its intricate gold embossing and delicate craftsmanship on camel leather and other surfaces.
The camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Vaishali Sheron, President of AWWA, along with Vice President Mrs. Priya Rana and RSETI Director Mr. Rupesh Sharma. The dignitaries praised the initiative for combining traditional art with modern livelihood opportunities, ensuring that the craft is not only preserved but also commercialized for sustainable income generation.
Noted artisan Mohammad Hanif Usta, a recipient of the prestigious President’s Award, conducted the first session. He introduced participants to the rich history, cultural significance, and technical nuances of Usta Art, inspiring them to carry forward the legacy of this heritage craft.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Sheron and Mrs. Rana lauded RSETI’s efforts to uplift marginalized communities through skill development. They stressed the importance of reviving traditional crafts like Usta Art, which are integral to Bikaner’s identity and have potential in national and international markets.
The event was attended by senior army officials, including Colonel Chandan Singh Chauhan and Major Rahul Yadav, along with RSETI representatives such as Mrs. Shashikala Kumari and Sarita, among others. Their presence highlighted the collaborative spirit between the armed forces, civilian institutions, and banking organizations in fostering community development.
Building Bridges Between Tradition and Modernity
What sets these programs apart is their dual emphasis: while the soft toys training seeks to harness contemporary entrepreneurial opportunities, the Usta Art camp focuses on heritage preservation and cultural continuity. Together, they form a balanced strategy that not only equips individuals with practical, income-generating skills but also encourages them to remain rooted in their cultural legacy.
Both initiatives resonate strongly with India’s larger Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) vision, empowering citizens to become job creators rather than job seekers. RSETI Director Rupesh Sharma reiterated the institute’s commitment to organizing more such specialized training camps in the future. “Our mission is to continuously train and guide rural youth and women so they can achieve self-reliance and contribute to the local economy. Programs like soft toys and Usta Art represent two sides of the same coin — modern entrepreneurship and traditional craftsmanship,” he said.
As Bikaner continues to evolve as a hub of skill development, these initiatives offer a glimpse of how structured training, mentorship, and community support can change lives. बीकानेर: परंपरा और नवाचार के संगम वाले बीकानेर में भारतीय स्टेट बैंक का ग्रामीण स्वरोजगार प्रशिक्षण संस्थान (आरसेटी) बेरोजगार युवाओं और महिलाओं के लिए सशक्तिकरण का प्रकाशस्तंभ बनकर उभर रहा है। बीते सप्ताह दो अहम प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम यहां आयोजित हुए—एक ओर सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ उद्यमिता प्रशिक्षण बैच का समापन हुआ, वहीं दूसरी ओर आर्मी विमेंस वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन (AWWA) के सहयोग से सात दिवसीय उस्ता कला प्रशिक्षण शिविर की शुरुआत हुई। ये पहल आत्मनिर्भरता, सांस्कृतिक संरक्षण और ग्रामीण उद्यमिता की दिशा में बढ़ते आंदोलन को दर्शाती हैं।
सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ प्रशिक्षण: आत्मनिर्भरता की ओर कदम
शनिवार को आरसेटी परिसर में संपन्न हुए इस बैच का उद्देश्य प्रतिभागियों को सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ निर्माण की तकनीक, विपणन रणनीति और व्यवसायिक प्रबंधन का व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण देना था। बेरोजगार युवाओं और महिलाओं को ध्यान में रखकर यह कार्यक्रम तैयार किया गया ताकि वे स्वरोजगार के रास्ते पर आगे बढ़ सकें।
समापन अवसर पर प्रतिभागियों ने अपने हाथों से बनाए गए सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ का प्रदर्शन किया और भविष्य में स्वयं का उद्यम स्थापित करने का संकल्प व्यक्त किया।
इस अवसर पर 24 इन्फैंट्री रणबांकुरा डिविजन मुख्यालय, बीकानेर से मेजर राहुल यादव उपस्थित रहे। उन्होंने आरसेटी द्वारा स्वरोजगार उन्नयन के क्षेत्र में किए जा रहे प्रयासों की सराहना की और कहा कि ऐसे कार्यक्रम स्थानीय समुदायों को सशक्त बनाते हैं तथा आत्मसम्मान और स्वाभिमान की भावना को मजबूत करते हैं।
आरसेटी निदेशक रूपेश शर्मा ने कहा कि यह प्रशिक्षण केवल एक व्यावसायिक कोर्स नहीं बल्कि आर्थिक सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में एक मजबूत कदम है। उन्होंने कहा—“हस्तनिर्मित सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ की बढ़ती मांग युवाओं और खासकर महिलाओं के लिए नए अवसर खोल रही है। यदि सही कौशल और उद्यमशीलता की भावना हो तो बीकानेर के युवा चुनौतियों को अवसर में बदल सकते हैं।”
उस्ता कला प्रशिक्षण: धरोहर का संरक्षण, अवसरों का सृजन
सोमवार को आरवीटीसी स्थित आर्मी कैंपस में आरसेटी और AWWA के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में सात दिवसीय उस्ता कला प्रशिक्षण शिविर का शुभारंभ हुआ। उस्ता कला बीकानेर की सदियों पुरानी धरोहर है, जो ऊँट की खाल पर सुनहरी नक्काशी और बारीक कारीगरी के लिए विश्व प्रसिद्ध है।
शिविर का उद्घाटन एडब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूए अध्यक्ष श्रीमती वैशाली शेरोन, उपाध्यक्ष श्रीमती प्रिया राणा और आरसेटी निदेशक श्री रूपेश शर्मा ने संयुक्त रूप से किया। सभी ने इस पहल को सराहा और कहा कि पारंपरिक कला को आजीविका के अवसरों से जोड़कर न केवल इस धरोहर को संरक्षित किया जा सकता है बल्कि इसे बाजार में टिकाऊ स्वरूप भी दिया जा सकता है।
इस अवसर पर राष्ट्रपति पुरस्कार प्राप्त कारीगर श्री मोहम्मद हनीफ़ उस्ता ने प्रतिभागियों को उस्ता कला के इतिहास, महत्व और तकनीक की जानकारी दी। उनकी प्रस्तुति ने प्रतिभागियों को इस धरोहर कला को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
श्रीमती शेरोन और श्रीमती राणा ने आरसेटी द्वारा पिछड़े वर्गों के उत्थान हेतु किए जा रहे प्रयासों की प्रशंसा की और कहा कि बीकानेर की पहचान से जुड़ी इस कला को पुनर्जीवित करना आवश्यक है, क्योंकि इसका भविष्य राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजारों में उज्जवल है।
इस अवसर पर आर्मी से कर्नल चंदन सिंह चौहान और मेजर राहुल यादव, आरसेटी से श्रीमती शशिकला कुमारी और सरिता सहित अन्य गणमान्य लोग मौजूद रहे। उनकी मौजूदगी ने यह संदेश दिया कि सेना, नागरिक संस्थान और बैंकिंग संगठन मिलकर सामुदायिक विकास में सकारात्मक सहयोग कर रहे हैं।
परंपरा और आधुनिकता का सेतु
ये दोनों कार्यक्रम अपनी सोच और परिणामों में विशिष्ट हैं। जहाँ सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ प्रशिक्षण आधुनिक उद्यमिता के अवसरों को साधने का प्रयास करता है, वहीं उस्ता कला शिविर धरोहर के संरक्षण और सांस्कृतिक निरंतरता को बढ़ावा देता है। दोनों मिलकर एक संतुलित रणनीति प्रस्तुत करते हैं जो प्रतिभागियों को व्यावहारिक आय-सृजन कौशल देती है और साथ ही उन्हें अपनी सांस्कृतिक जड़ों से जोड़े रखती है।

आगे की राह
आरसेटी निदेशक रूपेश शर्मा ने आश्वस्त किया कि भविष्य में भी इसी तरह के विशेष प्रशिक्षण शिविर आयोजित किए जाएंगे। उन्होंने कहा—“हमारा मिशन है ग्रामीण युवाओं और महिलाओं को लगातार प्रशिक्षित करना और उनका मार्गदर्शन करना ताकि वे आत्मनिर्भर बन सकें और स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत कर सकें। सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ और उस्ता कला जैसे कार्यक्रम आधुनिक उद्यमिता और पारंपरिक शिल्पकला के दो पहलू हैं।”
बीकानेर अब कौशल विकास का एक प्रमुख केंद्र बनता जा रहा है। इन पहलों ने यह स्पष्ट कर दिया है कि सुनियोजित प्रशिक्षण, मार्गदर्शन और सामुदायिक सहयोग से जीवन बदले जा सकते हैं। चाहे वह सॉफ्ट टॉयज़ के रंग-बिरंगे धागों से हो या उस्ता कला की सुनहरी कूचियों से, बीकानेर एक शांत लेकिन शक्तिशाली क्रांति का साक्षी बन रहा है—ऐसी क्रांति जो रचनात्मकता, धैर्य और अवसरों को मिलाकर सशक्तिकरण की प्रेरक कहानी गढ़ रही है।
