Sentinel Strike 2025: Sapta Shakti Command Showcases India’s Integrated Firepower and Self-Reliant Combat Readiness in the Thar Desert

In a spectacular display of precision, technology, and military integration, the Indian Army’s Sapta Shakti Command conducted the Integrated Firing Exercise “Sentinel Strike” at the Mahajan Field Firing Range from 28 to 30 October 2025, deep in the sands of the Thar Desert. The exercise served as a monumental demonstration of India’s growing indigenous defence capability, operational synergy, and readiness to confront future warfare scenarios under the banner of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The theme of the exercise, “Kavach Prahar” (Armoured Assault), symbolized a shield of power and precision — bringing together multiple combat arms, advanced sensors, air-land coordination, and AI-driven situational awareness in a realistic battlefield environment.
Integration, Innovation, and Indigenous Strength
The exercise showcased a synchronized execution of mechanised formations, artillery firepower, aerial assets, attack helicopters, and unmanned systems — all working in perfect harmony.
Platforms like T-72 tanks, BMP infantry combat vehicles, 130 mm medium guns, indigenous surveillance systems, and modern UAVs dominated the desert skies and terrain, revealing the destructive precision of coordinated firepower.
The Indian Army also demonstrated Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS), Counter-Drone Operations, and Mission Engagement Drills — marking a significant shift toward network-centric warfare where every soldier, sensor, and system communicates in real time. Surveillance integration and intelligence-sharing formed the backbone of “Sentinel Strike,” highlighting how battlefield awareness and indigenous technology are reshaping India’s approach to modern combat.
Lt Gen Manjinder Singh: “Indian Army is Prepared for the New Normal”
Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Sapta Shakti Command, presided over the event along with several senior military officers, including Lt Gen Shamsher Singh Virk ( 10 Corps, Bathinda), Maj Gen Deepak Shyoran (GOC Ranbankura Division), and Maj Gen Sanjay Kandpal.
Addressing troops after the exercise, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh commended the soldiers’ professionalism, adaptability, and precision under demanding conditions. “The Indian Army today is fully prepared for the New Normal — an era where threats can emerge at any hour and response time must be instantaneous,” he said.
He emphasized that nearly 70 percent of current combat training and war exercises are conducted during night operations, acknowledging that most recent security challenges have occurred under cover of darkness. “Our forces are trained and equipped to fight and win wars by night, with complete dominance across land, air, and cyber domains,” he added.
Drone Warfare and Counter-Aerial Dominance
Lt Gen Singh highlighted the Army’s rapid advancements in drone warfare, noting that counter-drone capabilities are now a key operational priority. Recalling Operation Sindoor One, he explained how enemy forces attempted aerial intrusions using drones, but India’s counter-attack systems neutralized the threat without any damage.
Today, the Indian Army possesses three-tier drone capabilities — surveillance drones, attack drones, and counter-drone systems — which have been deployed across all operational units. Additionally, specialized formations like the Ashani Platoon, Divyastra Battery, and Shaktiman Battalion are playing vital roles in counter-UAS operations, ensuring layered defence against aerial threats.
Counter-Narco Terrorism Operations Along the Borders
Responding to queries on cross-border smuggling and narco-terrorism, the Army Commander revealed that the Indian Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) are conducting joint integrated operations to dismantle the nexus between narcotics and terrorism in border regions. “Three Army systems and two BSF systems are currently operationally integrated for this task,” he said, underscoring the strong synergy between the two forces in safeguarding India’s western frontier.
Atmanirbhar Bharat in Defence: Indigenous Systems Take the Lead
Lt Gen Singh emphasized that nearly all major systems and platforms used in Sentinel Strike were indigenously developed, reaffirming India’s determination to achieve self-reliance in defence technology.
He stated, “India is progressing rapidly not just in industrial and scientific innovation, but also in the strategic and defence sectors. The spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat is no longer an aspiration — it is becoming our operational reality.”
Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and the Future Battlefield
In his remarks on cyber warfare, Lt Gen Singh reiterated that India’s approach remains defensive, but the Army continues to strengthen its cyber and information warfare systems. He revealed that an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Centre has been established in Bengaluru, aimed at enhancing the Army’s capacity for autonomous decision-making, data analysis, and intelligent battlefield management.
“The modern battlefield is not only physical — it is digital, cognitive, and informational. Our focus is to secure every domain, from the skies to the servers,” he said.
Empowering Women in the Armed Forces
Highlighting the Army’s evolving structure, Lt Gen Singh acknowledged the growing participation of women in the military. “The National Defence Academy (NDA) has been opened to women cadets, and recruitment in the Corps of Military Police (CMP) has already begun. Educational institutions are also being encouraged to inspire young girls to pursue careers in the armed forces,” he shared.
This transformation, he noted, reflects the Army’s broader vision — an inclusive, progressive, and technologically advanced institution ready for the challenges of future warfare.

“Sentinel Strike 2025” was more than a firepower demonstration; it was a glimpse into the next-generation Indian Army — agile, integrated, and technologically self-reliant. From precision targeting and digital communication grids to night operations and AI-supported command systems, every aspect of the exercise reflected the Indian Army’s evolution into a 21st-century combat force.
As tanks roared, artillery thundered, and drones pierced the desert skies, the message was unmistakable — India’s warriors are battle-ready, future-ready, and self-reliant. The Sapta Shakti Command has once again proven that the Indian Army’s strength lies not just in its firepower, but in its innovation, integration, and indomitable spirit.

‘सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक 2025’: थार के रेगिस्तान में भारतीय सेना की प्रचंड शक्ति का प्रदर्शन, सप्त शक्ति कमान ने दिखाया आत्मनिर्भर भारत का सैन्य भविष्य

राजस्थान के थार रेगिस्तान में स्थित महाजन फील्ड फायरिंग रेंज एक बार फिर भारतीय सेना की गूंज से थर्रा उठा, जब सप्त शक्ति कमान ने 28 से 30 अक्टूबर 2025 तक आयोजित किया गया “सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक” इंटीग्रेटेड फायरिंग एक्सरसाइज। यह अभ्यास केवल एक सैन्य प्रदर्शन नहीं था, बल्कि यह आत्मनिर्भर भारत की दिशा में भारतीय सेना की उस नई पहचान का प्रतीक बना जिसमें तकनीकी दक्षता, संचालनिक एकजुटता और स्वदेशी सैन्य सामर्थ्य का अद्भुत संगम दिखा।
इस युद्धाभ्यास का थीम था — “कवच प्रहार” (Armoured Assault), जो शक्ति, सटीकता और रणनीतिक सामंजस्य का प्रतीक रहा। इस अभ्यास में ज़मीनी और हवाई युद्ध के सभी घटकों का ऐसा तालमेल देखा गया जो भविष्य के युद्ध के स्वरूप को स्पष्ट करता है — जहां कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (AI), ड्रोन, सर्विलांस सेंसर और नेटवर्क-केंद्रित युद्ध प्रणाली प्रमुख भूमिका निभाते हैं।
एकीकृत ताकत, नवाचार और स्वदेशी सामर्थ्य का अनोखा संगम
“सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक” में भारतीय सेना ने अपने सभी प्रमुख हथियार प्रणालियों, मैकेनाइज्ड यूनिट्स, और वायु प्लेटफॉर्म्स के बीच अद्वितीय समन्वय दिखाया।
टी-72 टैंक, बीएमपी इंफेंट्री कॉम्बैट व्हीकल्स, 130 मिमी मीडियम गन, आधुनिक सर्विलांस ड्रोन, और अटैक हेलीकॉप्टरों की एकीकृत फायरिंग ने थार के आसमान को प्रचंड गर्जना से भर दिया।
इस अभ्यास के दौरान भारतीय सेना ने काउंटर-अनमैन्ड एरियल सिस्टम (C-UAS), काउंटर-ड्रोन ऑपरेशन और मिशन इंगेजमेंट ड्रिल्स का लाइव प्रदर्शन किया।
इस दौरान यह स्पष्ट हुआ कि भारतीय सेना अब पारंपरिक युद्ध से आगे बढ़कर एक ऐसे नेटवर्क-केंद्रित युग में प्रवेश कर चुकी है, जहां हर सैनिक, हर सेंसर और हर हथियार प्रणाली एक डिजिटल लिंक से जुड़ी है।
“सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक” ने यह सिद्ध कर दिया कि भारत की स्वदेशी तकनीक और सामरिक नवाचार अब केवल प्रयोग नहीं, बल्कि भविष्य के युद्ध की वास्तविक तैयारी बन चुके हैं।
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मंजिंदर सिंह बोले — ‘भारतीय सेना पूरी तरह तैयार है न्यू नॉर्मल के लिए’
इस अभ्यास का नेतृत्व सप्त शक्ति कमान के आर्मी कमांडर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मंजिंदर सिंह ने किया। उनके साथ वरिष्ठ सैन्य अधिकारी लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल शमशेर सिंह विरक ( 10 कोर, भटिंडा), मेजर जनरल दीपक श्योराण (रणबांकुरा डिवीजन) और मेजर जनरल संजय कांडपाल भी उपस्थित रहे।
अभ्यास के समापन पर सैनिकों को संबोधित करते हुए लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मंजिंदर सिंह ने कहा कि, “भारतीय सेना आज ‘न्यू नॉर्मल’ के अनुरूप पूरी तरह तैयार है। अब युद्ध या आतंकी खतरे किसी भी समय, किसी भी दिशा से आ सकते हैं — और हमारी प्रतिक्रिया तत्काल, सटीक और निर्णायक होगी।”
उन्होंने बताया कि वर्तमान समय में 70 प्रतिशत से अधिक युद्धाभ्यास रात्रि में आयोजित किए जा रहे हैं, क्योंकि हाल के वर्षों में देश की अधिकांश सुरक्षा चुनौतियां रात के समय सामने आई हैं।
उन्होंने कहा — “हमारी सेना अब न केवल दिन के उजाले में, बल्कि अंधकार में भी युद्ध जीतने की क्षमता रखती है — भूमि, आकाश और साइबर सभी मोर्चों पर हमारी पूर्ण प्रभुता है।”
ड्रोन वॉरफेयर — भारतीय सेना की नई प्राथमिकता
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने ड्रोन युद्ध के बढ़ते प्रभाव पर कहा कि काउंटर ड्रोन वॉरफेयर आज की सबसे बड़ी प्राथमिकता है। उन्होंने याद किया कि ऑपरेशन सिंदूर वन के दौरान शत्रु देश ने ड्रोन के माध्यम से हमले करने का प्रयास किया था, किंतु भारतीय सेना की काउंटर सिस्टम ने उसे सफल नहीं होने दिया।
आज भारतीय सेना के पास तीन स्तरों की ड्रोन क्षमता है —
सर्विलांस ड्रोन, अटैक ड्रोन, और काउंटर ड्रोन सिस्टम — जो सभी फॉर्मेशन और यूनिट्स में सक्रिय रूप से तैनात हैं।
इसके साथ ही ‘अशनी प्लाटून’, ‘दिव्यास्त्र बैटरी’, और ‘शक्तिमान बटालियन’ जैसी विशेष इकाइयों को भी शामिल किया गया है, जो ड्रोन युद्ध में भारतीय सेना की निर्णायक बढ़त का प्रतीक हैं।
सीमा पर नशा और आतंक के गठजोड़ को तोड़ने की संयुक्त मुहिम
नार्को-टेररिज्म से जुड़े सवाल पर लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने कहा कि भारतीय सेना और बीएसएफ मिलकर सीमावर्ती इलाकों में नशे और आतंक के गठजोड़ को समाप्त करने के लिए संयुक्त अभियान चला रहे हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि “सेना के तीन और बीएसएफ के दो सिस्टम मिलकर इस दिशा में काम कर रहे हैं।”
यह पहल पश्चिमी सीमांत की सुरक्षा को और मजबूत बनाती है और इस बात का प्रमाण है कि भारतीय सेना अब केवल युद्ध नहीं लड़ती — बल्कि राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के हर आयाम में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाती है।
आत्मनिर्भर भारत — स्वदेशी हथियारों की शक्ति का प्रदर्शन
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने कहा कि “सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक में प्रयोग किए गए लगभग सभी हथियार, सिस्टम और प्लेटफॉर्म स्वदेशी हैं।”
उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि भारत अब केवल औद्योगिक और वैज्ञानिक क्षेत्रों में ही नहीं, बल्कि रक्षा उत्पादन के क्षेत्र में भी आत्मनिर्भर बनने की राह पर तेजी से आगे बढ़ रहा है।
“आत्मनिर्भर भारत” अब केवल एक नारा नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय सेना की संचालनिक सच्चाई बन चुका है।
उन्होंने यह भी कहा — “हमारी ताकत अब विदेशी हथियारों पर नहीं, बल्कि भारतीय वैज्ञानिकों, इंजीनियरों और जवानों की प्रतिभा पर आधारित है। यह अभ्यास उसी आत्मविश्वास का प्रदर्शन है।”
साइबर युद्ध और आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस — भविष्य का रणक्षेत्र
साइबर युद्ध पर बोलते हुए लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने कहा कि भारत की नीति हमेशा से ‘डिफेंसिव रोल’ की रही है, किंतु सेना अपने साइबर सुरक्षा और सूचना युद्ध प्रणाली को लगातार सशक्त बना रही है।
उन्होंने बताया कि बेंगलुरु में आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) सेंटर की स्थापना की गई है, जो सेना की संचालनिक योजना, डेटा विश्लेषण और निर्णय क्षमता को नई दिशा प्रदान करेगा।
उन्होंने कहा, “आज का युद्ध केवल मैदान में नहीं, बल्कि डेटा और सर्वर पर भी लड़ा जा रहा है। आधुनिक सेना के लिए डिजिटल डिफेंस उतना ही जरूरी है जितना टैंक और तोप।”
महिला सशक्तिकरण — सेना में बढ़ता योगदान
लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल सिंह ने महिला सशक्तिकरण पर विशेष जोर देते हुए कहा कि “अब एनडीए (National Defence Academy) को महिला अधिकारियों के लिए खोल दिया गया है और कॉर्प्स ऑफ मिलिट्री पुलिस (CMP) में भी भर्ती प्रारंभ हो चुकी है।”
उन्होंने कहा कि देश के शिक्षण संस्थानों में बालिकाओं को सेना में करियर बनाने के लिए प्रेरित किया जा रहा है।
उन्होंने कहा, “भारतीय सेना अब केवल एक युद्धक संगठन नहीं, बल्कि एक सामाजिक प्रेरणा है। हम चाहते हैं कि देश की हर बेटी अपने भीतर सैनिक का आत्मविश्वास महसूस करे।”
भविष्य की झलक — प्रौद्योगिकी, आत्मविश्वास और अनुशासन से लैस भारतीय सेना
‘सेंटिनल स्ट्राइक 2025’ ने यह दिखा दिया कि भारतीय सेना अब भविष्य की सेना है — एक ऐसी सेना जो टेक्नोलॉजी, आत्मनिर्भरता और सामरिक नवाचार के संगम पर खड़ी है।
इस अभ्यास में दिखा कि कैसे AI-सक्षम कमांड सिस्टम, डिजिटल कम्युनिकेशन ग्रिड, नाइट वॉर ऑपरेशन, और स्वदेशी प्लेटफॉर्म्स के समन्वय से भारत ने आधुनिक युद्ध की दिशा तय कर दी है।
जैसे-जैसे टैंकों की गर्जना गूंजी, तोपों ने आग उगली और ड्रोन ने रेगिस्तान के आसमान को छुआ — संदेश एक ही था:
“भारत के सैनिक न केवल युद्ध के लिए तैयार हैं, बल्कि वे भविष्य के युद्ध को परिभाषित करने के लिए तैयार हैं।”
सप्त शक्ति कमान ने एक बार फिर यह साबित कर दिया कि भारतीय सेना की असली ताकत उसके हथियारों में नहीं, बल्कि उसकी नवाचार, एकजुटता और अडिग जज्बे में है।
