Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants Zaheen Javaid Dar, Javaid Ahmed Dar, and three Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were arrested by the Police at Bogund village in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on April 14, reports Daily Excelsior. Following a tip-off, a checkpoint was established at Bogund village in Kulgam following information about the movement of militants in the area, adds The Tribune. A Police spokesman said, “During checking of vehicles, three persons aboard a Maruti Alto vehicle were signalled to stop, who on seeing the search party tried to escape from the spot but were apprehended tactfully by the joint party.” Another militant associate was separately arrested from the checkpoint, he added. The OGWs are identified as Zahid Nazir Mantoo, Umer Yousuf Bhat and Muzaffar Ahmad Banday, all residents of Shopian District. The Security Forces (SFs) recovered incriminating materials, including arms and ammunition from their possession.
Special Operations Group (SOG) and Police arrested an operative of Islamic State of Jammu Kashmir (ISJK) from outskirts of Jammu City in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on April 14, and foiled the outfit’s plan to strengthen terror network in the City and outskirts, reports Daily Excelsior. The arrested operative has been identified as Aqib Bashir Parray alias Assadullah, a resident of Unisoo village in Handwara area of Kupwara District. No recoveries have so far been made from the arrested militant, however, preliminary investigations revealed that the ISJK operative had reached here to strengthen the outfits.
