बीकानेर शहर एक बार फिर वैश्विक पहचान का केंद्र बना है, जब अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर मान्यता प्राप्त दुर्लभ करेंसी नोटों के कलेक्टर सुधीर लुणावत को विश्व का सबसे बड़ा बैंक नोट प्राप्त हुआ। यह विशेष स्मारक नोट फरवरी 2025 में अफ्रीकी देश बुरुंडी द्वारा जारी किया गया है, जिसकी मूल्यवर्ग 10,000 बुरुंडी फ्रैंक है। यह बैंकनोट न केवल अपने मूल्य के लिए, बल्कि अपने आकार और डिज़ाइन के लिए भी अभूतपूर्व है।

CITES की 50वीं वर्षगांठ पर विशेष स्मारक

इस बैंकनोट को वन्य जीवों और वनस्पतियों की लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियों के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्यापार पर सम्मेलन (CITES) की 50वीं वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में जारी किया गया है। इसका उद्देश्य जैव विविधता और विलुप्त होती प्रजातियों के संरक्षण के प्रति वैश्विक जागरूकता बढ़ाना है।

नोट की विशिष्ट विशेषताएं

सुधीर लुणावत के अनुसार, इस स्मारक नोट की लंबाई और चौड़ाई इसे अब तक का सबसे बड़ा बैंकनोट बनाती है। वर्ष 2017 में मलेशिया द्वारा जारी 600 रिंगिट का नोट अब तक का सबसे बड़ा था, लेकिन बुरुंडी का यह नोट अब आधिकारिक रूप से उस रिकॉर्ड को पीछे छोड़ चुका है।

नोट के अग्र भाग पर अफ्रीका के प्रतिष्ठित और संरक्षित जीवों की भव्य छवियाँ हैं—जैसे शेर, जिराफ, भैंस, तेंदुआ, अफ्रीकी हाथी, और गैंडे पर बैठा दुर्लभ पक्षी। इन सभी प्रजातियों को CITES के अंतर्गत संरक्षित किया गया है।

वहीं, नोट के पिछला भाग फ्रेंच भाषा में विवरण के साथ है, जिसमें बुरुंडी का राष्ट्रीय प्रतीक, पारंपरिक नृत्य, ढोल वादक, राष्ट्रपति भवन, राष्ट्रीय ध्वज, और केंद्रीय बैंक का लोगो और नक्शा शामिल है।

सुरक्षा फीचर्स और सीमित संस्करण

इस नोट को विशेष सुरक्षा मानकों के साथ जारी किया गया है। इसमें दो सिक्योरिटी थ्रेड्स, ग्लोब का वॉटरमार्क, और दो गोल्डन स्टार्स हैं जो प्रकाश में देखने पर रंग बदलते हैं। यह इसे नकल से सुरक्षित बनाता है।

विशेष बात यह है कि इस स्मारक नोट की केवल 1000 प्रतियां ही छापी गई हैं, जिससे इसकी दुर्लभता और संग्रहणीय मूल्य में भारी वृद्धि हुई है। विश्वभर के कलेक्टरों में इस नोट की भारी मांग है।

Bikaner has once again marked its presence on the global map as renowned numismatist Sudhir Lunawat received the world’s largest banknote, issued by the African nation Burundi in February 2025. This 10,000 Burundian Francs commemorative note is not just significant for its high denomination but also for its unprecedented size and meaningful design.

Commemorating CITES 50th Anniversary

The note was released to honor the 50th anniversary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The intent is to raise global awareness for the protection of biodiversity and endangered species.

Design Highlights of the Note

According to Lunawat, this banknote surpasses all previous records in terms of physical dimensions. Until now, the 600 Ringgit note issued by Malaysia in 2017 held the title of the largest, but this new release from Burundi now holds the official world record.

The front side of the note showcases stunning illustrations of iconic African wildlife protected under CITES, including the lion, giraffe, buffalo, leopard, African elephant, and a rare bird perched on a rhinoceros.

The reverse side, designed in French, includes a detailed depiction of Burundi’s national emblem, traditional dancers and drummers, the presidential residence, national flag, and the Central Bank’s logo and map.

Security Features and Collector’s Item

To ensure authenticity, the note includes two advanced security threads, a watermark featuring the globe, and two golden stars that change color when viewed from different angles—an impressive set of features for a commemorative note.

Only 1,000 copies of this note were printed, making it a highly coveted collectible among currency enthusiasts and numismatists worldwide.
