Air Commodore Vinay Pratap Singh Assumes Charge as Secretary, Kendriya Sainik Board; Reaffirms Commitment to Ex-Servicemen Welfare

In a significant development for the welfare of India’s veteran community, Air Commodore Vinay Pratap Singh, VM F(P), officially assumed charge as the Secretary of the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) on 1 July 2026. The appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter in one of the country’s most important organizations dedicated to the welfare and rehabilitation of Ex-Servicemen, war veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents.
Upon assuming office, Air Commodore Vinay Pratap Singh reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving the interests of Ex-Servicemen who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation with courage, discipline and selfless devotion. He stated that the welfare of the veteran community would remain his foremost priority and emphasized his resolve to strengthen initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of retired Armed Forces personnel and their families.
The Kendriya Sainik Board functions under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, and serves as the apex organization responsible for formulating and implementing welfare policies for veterans across the country. The Board coordinates with Rajya Sainik Boards and Zila Sainik Welfare Offices to ensure the effective delivery of welfare schemes, rehabilitation programmes, employment assistance, educational benefits, healthcare support and financial aid for Ex-Servicemen and their dependents.
Air Commodore Vinay Pratap Singh brings with him rich operational, administrative and leadership experience acquired during his distinguished career in the Indian Air Force. A recipient of the Vayu Sena Medal (VM) and a highly accomplished Flying Pilot, he has served in several important operational and staff appointments, earning recognition for his professionalism, leadership and dedication to national service.
His appointment comes at a time when the Government of India continues to expand welfare measures for veterans through initiatives related to pension reforms, resettlement programmes, skill development, healthcare facilities, digital services and financial assistance. Under his leadership, the Kendriya Sainik Board is expected to further strengthen its outreach and improve the implementation of various welfare schemes across the country.
Speaking after taking over the responsibility, Air Commodore Vinay Pratap Singh reiterated that India’s veterans represent an invaluable national asset whose sacrifices and dedicated service deserve the highest respect and continued institutional support. He emphasized that every effort would be made to ensure that Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and their families receive timely assistance, dignity and opportunities for rehabilitation.

देश के पूर्व सैनिकों, वीर नारियों और सैन्य परिवारों के कल्याण के क्षेत्र में एक महत्वपूर्ण नेतृत्व परिवर्तन के तहत 1 जुलाई 2026 को एयर कमोडोर विनय प्रताप सिंह, VM F(P) ने केंद्रीय सैनिक बोर्ड (Kendriya Sainik Board) के सचिव के रूप में आधिकारिक रूप से पदभार ग्रहण किया। यह नियुक्ति उन लाखों पूर्व सैनिकों और उनके परिवारों के लिए महत्वपूर्ण मानी जा रही है, जिनके पुनर्वास, सामाजिक सुरक्षा और कल्याण के लिए केंद्रीय सैनिक बोर्ड लगातार कार्य करता है।

केंद्रीय सैनिक बोर्ड रक्षा मंत्रालय के पूर्व सैनिक कल्याण विभाग के अंतर्गत कार्य करने वाली देश की सर्वोच्च संस्था है, जो पूर्व सैनिकों, युद्ध वीरों, वीर नारियों और उनके आश्रितों के लिए विभिन्न कल्याणकारी योजनाओं का निर्माण, समन्वय और प्रभावी क्रियान्वयन सुनिश्चित करती है। यह संगठन राज्य सैनिक बोर्डों और जिला सैनिक कल्याण कार्यालयों के माध्यम से रोजगार, पुनर्वास, शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, आर्थिक सहायता, छात्रवृत्ति, कौशल विकास और विभिन्न सामाजिक सुरक्षा योजनाओं को देशभर में लागू करता है।
एयर कमोडोर विनय प्रताप सिंह भारतीय वायुसेना के एक अनुभवी अधिकारी हैं, जिन्होंने अपने लंबे सैन्य करियर में अनेक महत्वपूर्ण ऑपरेशनल और प्रशासनिक दायित्वों का सफलतापूर्वक निर्वहन किया है। वे वायु सेना पदक (VM) से सम्मानित हैं तथा एक कुशल फ्लाइंग पायलट के रूप में भारतीय वायुसेना में अपनी विशिष्ट पहचान बना चुके हैं। उनका व्यापक अनुभव अब पूर्व सैनिक कल्याण प्रणाली को और अधिक प्रभावी बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा।
वर्तमान समय में केंद्र सरकार पूर्व सैनिकों के लिए पेंशन सुधार, पुनर्वास कार्यक्रम, कौशल विकास, डिजिटल सेवाएं, स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं, रोजगार सहायता तथा आर्थिक कल्याण योजनाओं को लगातार विस्तार दे रही है। ऐसे समय में एयर कमोडोर विनय प्रताप सिंह का नेतृत्व केंद्रीय सैनिक बोर्ड की कार्यप्रणाली को नई गति प्रदान करने और विभिन्न योजनाओं को अंतिम लाभार्थी तक अधिक प्रभावी ढंग से पहुंचाने में महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
