Jaipur, August 27, 2026: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth visited the Headquarters of Sapta Shakti Command in Jaipur on Thursday and reviewed the Command’s overall operational preparedness, prevailing security environment, training activities and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing combat effectiveness and mission readiness. The visit provided the Army Chief with an opportunity to assess the operational capabilities of the Command and review the preparedness of its formations and personnel to respond effectively to evolving security challenges.

Army Chief Receives Detailed Briefing on Operational Preparedness

During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth was briefed by Lieutenant General Mohit Malhotra, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Sapta Shakti Command, on the prevailing operational environment, force preparedness, training initiatives and the measures being undertaken to further strengthen the Command’s combat effectiveness and mission readiness. The briefing covered the broader operational preparedness of the Command and the continuing efforts to ensure that its formations remain capable of responding rapidly and effectively to emerging challenges.

The Army Chief’s review comes as the Indian Army continues to place strong emphasis on maintaining a high level of operational readiness across its formations. For a strategically important command such as Sapta Shakti, which operates in an environment requiring sustained preparedness, the ability to rapidly adapt to changing operational circumstances remains a key priority.

‘VIJAY’ Framework Emphasises Technology-Driven and Future-Ready Army

During his interaction with the Command’s personnel, General Dhiraj Seth reiterated the thrust areas outlined under “VIJAY”, described as a strategic five-point guiding framework aimed at transforming the Indian Army into a technology-driven and future-ready force. The Army Chief emphasised that rapidly changing security challenges require military formations to remain agile, adaptive and technologically empowered.

He stressed that the modern battlefield is witnessing rapid changes in the nature of warfare, making it essential for the armed forces to continuously evolve their operational concepts, training methodologies and technological capabilities. The integration of emerging technologies into military training and operational planning, he emphasised, would be crucial for maintaining a decisive advantage across the spectrum of conflict.

Dynamic Training and Emerging Technologies Key to Battlefield Advantage

General Dhiraj Seth also underlined the importance of dynamic and realistic training for maintaining operational superiority. He emphasised that training must continuously evolve in accordance with changing battlefield requirements and should incorporate emerging technologies wherever relevant. The objective is to ensure that soldiers and commanders remain prepared for complex operational environments in which technology, speed, information and adaptability can play an increasingly important role.

The Army Chief’s emphasis on technology-enabled training reflects the Indian Army’s broader focus on preparing its personnel for future conflicts. Modern warfare increasingly involves the integration of multiple domains and rapidly changing tactical situations, making continuous training, innovation and adaptation essential components of military preparedness.

Sapta Shakti Command’s Operational Readiness Reviewed

General Dhiraj Seth appreciated the high standards of operational readiness and commitment demonstrated by all ranks of Sapta Shakti Command. He commended the personnel for maintaining a strong level of preparedness and professionalism while carrying out their operational and training responsibilities.

The Army Chief’s assessment also highlighted the importance of maintaining constant vigilance and mission readiness. Operational preparedness is not limited to the availability of equipment and manpower; it also depends on the ability of commanders and troops to respond quickly, operate effectively under challenging conditions and adapt to changing circumstances.

Army Chief Calls for Relentless Vigilance and Professional Excellence

Addressing the troops, General Dhiraj Seth exhorted all ranks to maintain relentless vigilance, professional excellence and unwavering resolve in the service of the nation. He stressed that a high state of operational preparedness must remain a continuous process rather than a one-time effort.

The Army Chief’s message placed particular emphasis on maintaining discipline, professionalism and readiness while simultaneously adapting to technological and operational changes. The objective remains to ensure that the Indian Army retains the ability to respond decisively across the full spectrum of conflict.

Focus on Enhancing Combat Effectiveness and Mission Readiness

The review of Sapta Shakti Command’s operational preparedness also focused on the initiatives being undertaken to further enhance combat effectiveness and mission readiness. The Command continues to work towards strengthening its operational capabilities through training, preparedness measures and the integration of modern technologies.

For a formation operating in a strategically sensitive region, maintaining high levels of readiness is critical. The ability to rapidly respond to changing operational requirements, sustain combat effectiveness and employ modern technologies effectively forms an important part of the Army’s preparedness for future security challenges.

Technology, Adaptability and Readiness Remain Central to Army’s Transformation

General Dhiraj Seth’s visit reinforced the Indian Army’s continuing focus on developing a force that is agile, adaptive, technologically empowered and future-ready. The emphasis on “VIJAY”, dynamic training and emerging technologies reflects the changing requirements of contemporary warfare, where technological superiority must be supported by highly trained and adaptable personnel.

The operational review at Sapta Shakti Command therefore served not only as an assessment of the Command’s present preparedness but also as a reminder of the need for continuous transformation. As the nature of security challenges evolves, the Army’s formations are required to maintain a high degree of readiness while simultaneously preparing for future operational environments.

Sapta Shakti Personnel Commended for Commitment

At the conclusion of the operational review, General Dhiraj Seth appreciated the commitment displayed by the officers and soldiers of Sapta Shakti Command. He urged all ranks to continue maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and preparedness and to remain ready to meet emerging challenges in the service of the nation.

The visit underlined the importance of sustained operational preparedness, continuous training, technological integration and professional excellence in ensuring that the Indian Army remains capable of maintaining a decisive edge across the spectrum of conflict.
