Bikaner’s Rising Stars: Nayasha Gupta & Maitreyi Shine at CBSE West Zone Tennis Tournament, Earn Spot in Nationals

The courts of DPS School Rao, Indore, witnessed four days of gripping rallies, precise serves, and fierce competition during the CBSE West Zone Tennis Tournament held from August 2 to 5, 2025. Among the standout performances was the under-14 girls’ duo from T.N. Tennis Academy, Bikaner — Nayasha Gupta and Maitreyi — who battled through a challenging draw to secure second place and a coveted place in the National CBSE Tennis Championship.

From Bikaner’s Patel Nagar to the West Zone Podium

Representing T.N. Tennis Academy, based in Patel Nagar, Bikaner, Nayasha and Maitreyi faced opponents from across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Their performance was marked by consistency, grit, and team coordination — qualities honed under the guidance of Team In-Charge Manisha Gupta.

“This result is not just a medal; it’s a stepping stone to bigger challenges,” said Manisha Gupta. “Their dedication to practice and their ability to handle high-pressure points have made the difference. The selection for the Nationals is a well-deserved achievement.”

Selection for Nationals: The Road Ahead

With their second-place finish, both players have earned a berth in the National CBSE Tennis Tournament, where they will face India’s top school-level talent. The Nationals will be a bigger stage — faster courts, stronger opponents, and higher stakes — but the Bikaner duo is ready.

Felicitation Ceremony at T.N. Tennis Academy

On returning home, the academy organised a felicitation ceremony on its courts in Patel Nagar. In keeping with Bikaner’s cultural traditions, both players were honoured with saffas (traditional Rajasthani turbans) and garlands.

The event was graced by eminent personalities: Dr. Shankar Lal Jakhad, Mohammad Naeem, Kailash Prajapat, Ajay Singh, Sandeep Mehla, Manoj, Sagar, Neeraj Gupta, Kalpana Kumari, and Subhash Bishnoi, among others.

The atmosphere was celebratory — applause rang out, cameras flashed, and fellow trainees at the academy looked on with admiration.

The achievement of Nayasha and Maitreyi is being hailed as another step forward for sports in Bikaner, where tennis is gaining popularity among youth. इंदौर के डीपीएस स्कूल राव के टेनिस कोर्ट पर 2 से 5 अगस्त तक खेले गए सीबीएसई वेस्ट ज़ोन टेनिस टूर्नामेंट में बीकानेर की टी.एन. टेनिस एकेडमी की उभरती खिलाड़ी नायशा गुप्ता और मैत्रेयी ने शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए अंडर-14 गर्ल्स वर्ग में दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया। इस उपलब्धि के साथ दोनों का चयन सीबीएसई नेशनल टेनिस चैंपियनशिप के लिए हो गया है।

पाटेल नगर से वेस्ट ज़ोन पोडियम तक का सफर

टी.एन. टेनिस एकेडमी, पाटेल नगर, बीकानेर की इस जोड़ी ने राजस्थान, गुजरात, मध्यप्रदेश और महाराष्ट्र की टीमों के खिलाफ खेलते हुए बेहतरीन तालमेल और जुझारूपन दिखाया।

टीम प्रभारी मनीषा गुप्ता ने कहा —

“यह जीत सिर्फ एक पदक नहीं है, बल्कि बड़े मुकाम की शुरुआत है। दोनों खिलाड़ियों ने कठिन मौकों पर धैर्य और संयम से खेला, और यही उनके नेशनल चयन की वजह बना।”

नेशनल में मुकाबले की तैयारी

दूसरा स्थान हासिल करने के साथ ही दोनों खिलाड़ी अब नेशनल स्तर पर देश के बेहतरीन स्कूल खिलाड़ियों से भिड़ेंगी। वहाँ का अनुभव, गति और चुनौती और भी कठिन होगी, लेकिन नायशा और मैत्रेयी तैयार हैं।

टी.एन. टेनिस एकेडमी में सम्मान समारोह

बीकानेर लौटने पर एकेडमी में पारंपरिक अंदाज़ में सम्मान समारोह आयोजित किया गया। दोनों खिलाड़ियों को साफा और माला पहनाकर सम्मानित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में डॉ. शंकर लाल जाखड़, मोहम्मद नईम, कैलाश प्रजापत, अजय सिंह, संदीप मेहला, मनोज, सागर, नीरज गुप्ता, कल्पना कुमारी, और सुभाष बिश्नोई समेत कई गणमान्य लोग उपस्थित रहे।
