During the frisking and security inspection, CISF personnel discovered a substantial quantity of gold concealed inside the passenger’s clothing. The recovered gold weighed approximately 1.210 kilograms, making it a significant seizure from a domestic passenger movement route.
Officials involved in the operation immediately isolated the passenger and initiated further questioning regarding the source and ownership of the precious metal. Gold smuggling remains one of the most persistent economic crimes in India, often involving sophisticated concealment methods designed to bypass airport security systems and law enforcement agencies.

In addition to the gold, CISF personnel also recovered ₹1,97,200 in cash from the passenger. The passenger was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the source of the money or produce any documentation supporting the possession and transportation of the cash and gold.
Authorities considered the combination of concealed gold and unaccounted cash as a serious matter warranting further investigation by the appropriate government agencies.
The seizure raises questions regarding the intended use of the gold and cash, possible links to illegal financial transactions, and whether the recovered assets were connected to a larger smuggling network.
Passenger Attempts to Influence Officials
One of the most remarkable aspects of the incident was the conduct displayed by CISF personnel after the recovery.

देश की नागरिक उड्डयन सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को मजबूत बनाए रखने की दिशा में एक बड़ी सफलता हासिल करते हुए केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल (CISF) के जवानों ने नई दिल्ली स्थित इंदिरा गांधी अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे (IGI Airport) पर सोने की तस्करी के एक प्रयास को विफल कर दिया। टर्मिनल-1 पर नियमित सुरक्षा जांच के दौरान कोलकाता जाने वाले एक यात्री की संदिग्ध गतिविधियों ने CISF कर्मियों का ध्यान आकर्षित किया, जिसके बाद की गई गहन जांच में बड़ा खुलासा हुआ।
सुरक्षा जांच के दौरान यात्री का व्यवहार सामान्य यात्रियों से अलग दिखाई दिया। CISF के प्रशिक्षित जवानों ने उसके हावभाव और गतिविधियों का सूक्ष्म निरीक्षण किया और संदेह होने पर उसकी विस्तृत तलाशी लेने का निर्णय लिया। यही सतर्कता आगे चलकर एक महत्वपूर्ण बरामदगी का कारण बनी।
कपड़ों में छिपाकर ले जाया जा रहा था 1.21 किलोग्राम सोना
तलाशी के दौरान CISF जवानों ने यात्री के कपड़ों में बड़ी मात्रा में सोना छिपाकर रखा हुआ पाया। बरामद सोने का कुल वजन लगभग 1.210 किलोग्राम था। इतनी बड़ी मात्रा में सोने का घरेलू उड़ान मार्ग पर पकड़ा जाना सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण सफलता माना जा रहा है।
पूछताछ के दौरान यात्री सोने के स्रोत, स्वामित्व और परिवहन से संबंधित कोई वैध दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत नहीं कर सका। इसके अलावा वह यह भी स्पष्ट नहीं कर पाया कि इतनी बड़ी मात्रा में सोना उसके पास कैसे आया।
भारत में सोने की तस्करी लंबे समय से आर्थिक अपराधों की प्रमुख चुनौतियों में शामिल रही है। तस्कर लगातार नए-नए तरीके अपनाकर सुरक्षा जांच को चकमा देने की कोशिश करते हैं, लेकिन CISF की सतर्कता ने इस प्रयास को विफल कर दिया।
लगभग दो लाख रुपये की बेहिसाबी नकदी भी बरामद
सोने के अलावा CISF जवानों ने यात्री के पास से ₹1,97,200 की नकदी भी बरामद की। पूछताछ के दौरान यात्री इस नकदी के स्रोत के बारे में भी कोई संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं दे पाया और न ही कोई दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत कर सका।
सोने और बेहिसाबी नकदी की संयुक्त बरामदगी ने मामले को और गंभीर बना दिया। जांच एजेंसियां अब यह पता लगाने का प्रयास करेंगी कि यह धन और सोना किसी बड़े नेटवर्क, हवाला गतिविधि या अन्य अवैध आर्थिक लेन-देन से जुड़ा हुआ था या नहीं।
कार्रवाई से बचने के लिए कथित तौर पर की प्रभाव डालने की कोशिश
घटना का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पहलू CISF कर्मियों की ईमानदारी और कर्तव्यनिष्ठा रही। जानकारी के अनुसार जब यात्री को बरामदगी के बारे में बताया गया और उससे पूछताछ की गई, तब उसने कानूनी कार्रवाई से बचने के लिए ड्यूटी पर तैनात कर्मियों को प्रभावित करने का प्रयास किया।
लेकिन CISF जवानों ने असाधारण ईमानदारी का परिचय देते हुए किसी भी प्रकार की पेशकश को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया। उन्होंने तुरंत अपने वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को मामले की जानकारी दी और निर्धारित कानूनी प्रक्रिया के अनुसार कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की।
यह घटना दर्शाती है कि देश की सुरक्षा में लगे जवान केवल सतर्क ही नहीं बल्कि नैतिक मूल्यों और ईमानदारी के उच्चतम मानकों का भी पालन करते हैं।
यात्री और बरामद सामान आयकर विभाग को सौंपा गया
प्रारंभिक कार्रवाई के बाद CISF ने यात्री, बरामद 1.210 किलोग्राम सोना तथा ₹1,97,200 की नकदी को आगे की जांच और कानूनी कार्रवाई के लिए आयकर विभाग के अधिकारियों को सौंप दिया।
अब आयकर विभाग इस मामले की विस्तृत जांच करेगा। जांच के दौरान धन और सोने के स्रोत, वित्तीय लेन-देन, कर संबंधी अनुपालन तथा संभावित आर्थिक अपराधों की जांच की जाएगी। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर अन्य एजेंसियों को भी जांच में शामिल किया जा सकता है।
सोना तस्करी के खिलाफ सुरक्षा एजेंसियों की बड़ी सफलता
भारत में सोने की मांग लगातार बढ़ रही है, जिसके कारण तस्करी के प्रयास भी समय-समय पर सामने आते रहते हैं। तस्कर अक्सर हवाई अड्डों को इस्तेमाल कर अवैध रूप से सोना एक स्थान से दूसरे स्थान तक पहुंचाने की कोशिश करते हैं।
ऐसे मामलों में CISF की भूमिका अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण हो जाती है क्योंकि यही बल देश के प्रमुख हवाई अड्डों की सुरक्षा का दायित्व संभालता है। आधुनिक तकनीक, प्रशिक्षित मानव संसाधन और व्यवहार विश्लेषण क्षमता के कारण CISF लगातार ऐसे प्रयासों को विफल करने में सफल रही है।
