Defence Correspondents’ Course 2026 Navy Module Concludes in Visakhapatnam, Journalists Gain First-Hand Exposure to Naval Operations
Visakhapatnam: The six-day Navy Module of the Defence Correspondents’ Course (DCC) 2026 concluded in Visakhapatnam, providing 24 journalists with an in-depth understanding of the operational profile, maritime security responsibilities and functioning of the Indian Navy.
During the concluding interaction, Rear Admiral Manoj Jha, CSO (Operations), Eastern Naval Command, addressed the participating journalists and underlined the importance of developing a deeper understanding of naval operations and the evolving maritime security environment.
The six-day module featured a series of professional interactions, specialised lectures and visits to important naval establishments, ships and submarines. The programme was designed to provide defence correspondents with direct exposure to the operational environment in which the Indian Navy performs its responsibilities across the maritime domain.
One of the key highlights of the module was a sea sortie onboard a frontline Indian Navy warship, allowing the participating journalists to witness naval operations at sea and gain first-hand exposure to the procedures, capabilities and challenges involved in maritime operations.
The programme also offered participants an opportunity to interact with naval personnel and gain a better understanding of the Navy’s role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests, maintaining maritime security and responding to emerging challenges across the Indian Ocean Region.
The Defence Correspondents’ Course is aimed at enhancing the professional understanding of journalists covering India’s defence and security establishment. The Navy module at Visakhapatnam provided participants with practical exposure beyond conventional briefings, bringing them closer to the operational realities of India’s maritime forces.
The participation of 24 journalists in the six-day programme highlighted the continuing importance of specialised defence journalism and informed reporting on India’s maritime security architecture. Through lectures, professional interactions, visits and the sea sortie, DCC 2026 participants gained a closer view of the Indian Navy’s operational responsibilities and its contribution to India’s national security.

विशाखापत्तनम: डिफेंस कॉरेस्पॉन्डेंट्स कोर्स (DCC) 2026 का छह दिवसीय नौसेना मॉड्यूल विशाखापत्तनम में सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ। इस मॉड्यूल में शामिल 24 पत्रकारों को भारतीय नौसेना की परिचालन क्षमता, समुद्री सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारियों और समुद्री क्षेत्र में नौसेना की भूमिका को करीब से समझने का अवसर मिला।
समापन कार्यक्रम के दौरान ईस्टर्न नेवल कमांड के CSO (Operations) रियर एडमिरल मनोज झा ने प्रतिभागी पत्रकारों को संबोधित किया। उन्होंने नौसेना अभियानों और समुद्री सुरक्षा से जुड़े विषयों की बेहतर समझ विकसित करने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया।
छह दिनों के इस मॉड्यूल के दौरान पत्रकारों के लिए विभिन्न पेशेवर संवाद, विशेषज्ञ व्याख्यान और नौसेना के महत्वपूर्ण प्रतिष्ठानों का दौरा आयोजित किया गया। प्रतिभागियों को भारतीय नौसेना के युद्धपोतों और पनडुब्बियों को करीब से देखने और उनके संचालन से संबंधित महत्वपूर्ण पहलुओं को समझने का अवसर मिला।
मॉड्यूल का प्रमुख आकर्षण फ्रंटलाइन भारतीय नौसेना के युद्धपोत पर समुद्री यात्रा यानी Sea Sortie रहा। इस दौरान पत्रकारों को समुद्र में नौसेना के वास्तविक परिचालन वातावरण को प्रत्यक्ष रूप से देखने और नौसैनिक अभियानों की प्रक्रियाओं, क्षमताओं तथा चुनौतियों को समझने का अवसर मिला।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान पत्रकारों ने नौसेना के अधिकारियों और कर्मियों के साथ पेशेवर संवाद भी किया। इससे उन्हें भारत के समुद्री हितों की सुरक्षा, समुद्री क्षेत्र में निगरानी और सुरक्षा व्यवस्था तथा हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में उभरती सुरक्षा चुनौतियों के संदर्भ में भारतीय नौसेना की भूमिका को समझने में मदद मिली।
डिफेंस कॉरेस्पॉन्डेंट्स कोर्स का उद्देश्य रक्षा और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा से जुड़े विषयों की रिपोर्टिंग करने वाले पत्रकारों की पेशेवर समझ को मजबूत करना है। विशाखापत्तनम में आयोजित नौसेना मॉड्यूल में केवल सैद्धांतिक जानकारी ही नहीं, बल्कि नौसेना के प्रतिष्ठानों, युद्धपोतों, पनडुब्बियों और समुद्री अभियान का प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव भी शामिल रहा।
छह दिवसीय इस मॉड्यूल के समापन के साथ 24 पत्रकारों को भारतीय नौसेना की परिचालन जिम्मेदारियों, समुद्री सुरक्षा और भारत की व्यापक राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा में नौसेना के योगदान को करीब से समझने का अवसर मिला। यह अनुभव रक्षा पत्रकारिता में तथ्यात्मक, तकनीकी और परिचालन दृष्टिकोण से बेहतर रिपोर्टिंग के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माना जा सकता है।
