DG BSF Praveen Kumar Reviews Western Frontier Security, Directs Stronger Border Domination and Counter-Infiltration Measures
Gandhinagar/Okha, Gujarat: Director General of the Border Security Force Praveen Kumar, IPS, reviewed border security, operational preparedness and border management along the Western Frontier during a conference with senior BSF officers at Frontier Headquarters in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
The conference focused on strengthening the existing border security grid and implementing the latest directions issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Senior officers deliberated on a range of operational and security issues, including border infrastructure, counter-infiltration measures, trans-border smuggling and emerging security challenges along the Western Frontier.
The BSF Director General directed formations and units to further strengthen border domination through the effective utilisation of human resources, technology and intelligence capabilities. He also stressed the need for greater coordination and operational synergy with other security forces, government agencies and the civil administration to ensure an integrated response to threats emerging along the international border.
A key focus of the review was the growing challenge of trans-border narcotics trafficking. Reiterating the Government’s vision of “Nasha Mukt Bharat by 2029,” DG BSF Praveen Kumar emphasised the need for sustained and coordinated efforts to identify, disrupt and dismantle networks involved in the trafficking of narcotics across the international border.
The review comes amid continued efforts by the BSF to strengthen surveillance, intelligence-based operations and technological capabilities along India’s western borders. The force continues to focus on preventing infiltration, smuggling and other cross-border security threats while maintaining close coordination with multiple stakeholders.
During his Gujarat visit, the DG BSF also visited the National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP) at Okha. He reviewed the progress of ongoing training programmes, upcoming infrastructure projects and the availability of trainers and staff at the academy.
The National Academy of Coastal Policing plays an important role in developing specialised capabilities related to coastal and maritime policing. During the visit, the DG BSF also participated in a plantation drive on the academy campus.
In a gesture of camaraderie with the force personnel, DG BSF Praveen Kumar shared lunch with the jawans and staff at Okha, interacting with them during his visit.
The visit and conference underlined the BSF’s focus on strengthening border management through a combination of personnel, technology, intelligence, infrastructure and inter-agency coordination, while simultaneously addressing emerging threats such as infiltration and trans-border narcotics trafficking.

गांधीनगर/ओखा, गुजरात: सीमा सुरक्षा बल (BSF) के महानिदेशक प्रवीण कुमार, IPS ने गुजरात के गांधीनगर स्थित फ्रंटियर मुख्यालय में वरिष्ठ BSF अधिकारियों के साथ सम्मेलन के दौरान पश्चिमी सीमा पर सीमा सुरक्षा, ऑपरेशनल तैयारियों और बॉर्डर मैनेजमेंट की व्यापक समीक्षा की।
सम्मेलन में मजबूत बॉर्डर सिक्योरिटी ग्रिड को और प्रभावी बनाने तथा गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा जारी हालिया निर्देशों के क्रियान्वयन पर विस्तार से चर्चा की गई। इसके अलावा सीमा पर बुनियादी ढांचे को मजबूत करने, घुसपैठ रोधी उपायों, सीमा पार तस्करी और लगातार उभरती सुरक्षा चुनौतियों को लेकर भी वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने विचार-विमर्श किया।
DG BSF प्रवीण कुमार ने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया कि पश्चिमी सीमा पर बॉर्डर डोमिनेशन को और मजबूत किया जाए। इसके लिए मानव संसाधन, आधुनिक तकनीक और इंटेलिजेंस क्षमताओं का प्रभावी इस्तेमाल करने पर जोर दिया गया। उन्होंने अन्य सुरक्षा बलों, केंद्रीय एजेंसियों और सिविल प्रशासन के साथ बेहतर तालमेल और समन्वय के जरिए सीमा सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और मजबूत करने की आवश्यकता पर भी जोर दिया।
बैठक में सीमा पार मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी के नेटवर्क के खिलाफ कार्रवाई को भी प्रमुखता दी गई। सरकार के “नशा मुक्त भारत 2029” के विजन को दोहराते हुए DG BSF ने कहा कि सीमा पार से होने वाली ड्रग्स तस्करी में शामिल नेटवर्क को चिन्हित कर उन्हें बाधित और पूरी तरह ध्वस्त करने के लिए लगातार और समन्वित प्रयास जरूरी हैं।
पश्चिमी सीमा पर घुसपैठ, ड्रग्स तस्करी और अन्य सीमा पार गतिविधियों से निपटने के लिए BSF लगातार निगरानी, इंटेलिजेंस आधारित ऑपरेशंस और तकनीकी क्षमताओं को मजबूत कर रही है। इस दौरान विभिन्न एजेंसियों और सुरक्षा बलों के बीच बेहतर तालमेल को भी सीमा सुरक्षा का अहम हिस्सा बताया गया।
गुजरात दौरे के दौरान DG BSF प्रवीण कुमार ने ओखा स्थित नेशनल एकेडमी ऑफ कोस्टल पुलिसिंग (NACP) का भी दौरा किया। उन्होंने अकादमी में चल रहे प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रमों की प्रगति, आगामी इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्रोजेक्ट्स तथा प्रशिक्षकों और स्टाफ की उपलब्धता की समीक्षा की।
NACP में तटीय और समुद्री पुलिसिंग से जुड़ी विशेष क्षमताओं के विकास पर जोर दिया जाता है। अपने दौरे के दौरान DG BSF ने अकादमी परिसर में आयोजित पौधरोपण अभियान में भी हिस्सा लिया।
DG BSF ने ओखा में तैनात जवानों और स्टाफ के साथ भोजन भी किया और उनके साथ बातचीत की। इस दौरान उन्होंने जवानों के साथ संवाद करते हुए उनके कार्य और जिम्मेदारियों से जुड़े विषयों को भी जाना।
गांधीनगर में आयोजित समीक्षा बैठक और ओखा स्थित NACP के दौरे के दौरान BSF की सीमा सुरक्षा रणनीति में मानव संसाधन, तकनीक, खुफिया जानकारी, बुनियादी ढांचे और अंतर-एजेंसी समन्वय की भूमिका को प्रमुखता दी गई। साथ ही सीमा पार घुसपैठ और मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी जैसे सुरक्षा खतरों के खिलाफ लगातार कार्रवाई पर जोर दिया गया।
