DIG Intelligence Vidur Bharadwaj Engages with Border Residents, Expresses Concern Over Rising Drug Trafficking and Drone Activities
Bikaner, March 6, 2025 – Authorities have intensified their vigilance along the international border in response to the rising cases of smuggling and drone activities. As part of this initiative, DIG Intelligence Branch Jodhpur, Vidur Bharadwaj, visited the border village 13 MD in Bikaner district, where he interacted with local residents and discussed critical security concerns. He also raised awareness about the dangers of drug trafficking and cyber crimes.
Increasing Drug Trafficking and Drone Activities Along the Border a Major Concern
During his address, DIG Bharadwaj highlighted the growing incidents of drug trafficking along the Bikaner border. He particularly noted an increase in cases where drones are being used to drop drug consignments. Expressing grave concern, he stated, “Drugs are like a deadly disease, destroying the youth of our nation. We must unite and fight against this menace to safeguard our country’s future.”
He urged the villagers to stay vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons or activities to BSF or intelligence agencies. He emphasized that the alertness of local residents can play a crucial role in curbing illegal smuggling and anti-national activities.
Raising Awareness on Cyber Crimes and Social Media Frauds
Apart from discussing border security, DIG Bharadwaj also educated villagers on cyber crimes and social media fraud. He warned about the rising misuse of modern technology for fraudulent activities. Many people unknowingly fall prey to fake links, fraudulent bank calls, and misleading information on social media.
He advised the villagers to be cautious and never share banking or personal details with unknown persons. He also encouraged them to report cyber crimes to the police immediately.
Presence of Local Officials and Community Leaders
The event was attended by village sarpanch Lakhwinder Singh, who expressed gratitude to DIG Bharadwaj for raising awareness among the villagers. He emphasized that local residents play a crucial role in border security and can contribute to the nation’s defense by collaborating with security forces.
Deputy Commandant of Intelligence Branch Bikaner, Mahesh Chand Jat, was also present at the event and provided valuable insights on various security aspects.

He remarked, “If we all stand together against drug trafficking and illegal activities, we can eradicate these threats from the root.” He urged the villagers to immediately report any suspicious activities to security agencies for timely action.

It is worth noting that BSF, police, and intelligence agencies are actively conducting operations to prevent drug smuggling and drone activities along the border. Recently, BSF has shot down multiple drones and seized large quantities of heroin and other narcotics in Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar districts.
